More like 15-20 years. It takes time and connections to get that kind of responsibility.

Don't give them that much credit....they hear doctor and juices flow. Doctor works even better than Investment banker because they don't even know what the fuck that is.

Hahaha....fuck a grand, wrap a hundred around ones. For the most part doctor is money; most don't need confirmation. Just don't be pullin up with a honda civic.

Please, dont embarrass me like that... *shakes head in disgust*... my shofer will drive... to my town house on the upper east side, across the street from the MET.

Have you seen the movie Thomas Crown Affair? Yea, thats me.

If Im in med school, Ill drive whatever I got. When youre debt grows to like 250k, you take what you can get. But hopefully a job as an EKG tech, will prevent me from driving around in a Honda Civic, lol.

Yeah, I think Santana did resign. You also have to assume that the Padres & Indians are going to give Peavy & Sabathia top dollar - certainly the Padres will empty the piggy bank. I think CC is a bit overrated. I know he has 13 wins but his run support has been high and strikeout/home run, extra base hit ratio is not that high.

yeah...peavy isn't going anywhere.....SD will be crazy to let him go.

FInally we have a decent backup catcher. Yankees acquired Jose molina today. funny that it happened after wil nieves finest game as a yankee last night.

EDIT: i'm liking melke more every game.....the kid bunts, steals third, has a strong arm, and is improving his bat. i think we have a keeper. Not a superstar, but definitely a solid player. hopefully this offseason he'll work on his speed and power a bit. i'm not asking for much, maybe 30 SB and 15HR.

Posted by Vlad on Jul-22-2007 19:03:

Melke and Phillips are what made the Yankees so successful. Stand up guys, who can play. They arent superstars, but they want to play and play to the best of their abilities.

On as much of a good note, how about todays game? Yankees look like they are continuing last nights hit and run parade ripping them up for 13 runs and 13 hits through the 4th inning.

THIS is the Yankee team I was expecting to see all year long, a run scoring machine! And... Shelly hits another blast today.

Posted by Vlad on Jul-22-2007 19:07:

Correction, 14 runs, 14 hits... Abreu just hit a HR.

Phillips has 15 RBIs in 84 AB. That's on pace for around 100 RBI in a season. And he's batting at the bottom of the order. ***contain excitement*** hopefully he can continue this play. now that he's getting a real everyday shot maybe he will become a quality player.

Duncan, 2 ML hits, 2 HRs. I don't know what to say!! not my type of baseball, but if it produces runs, i can live with it.

KC next, oh boy does this look promising. Bostons next series is against cleveland. while that's not ideal, we'll pick up ground on someone as long as we win. I just hope they can stay consistent.

I'd like to hear a non-yankees fan take on the AL east race and Wild card.

djstopngo????

Hes like Giambi at a fraction of the cost. Eventually he will learn to swing to get on base, rather than to swing for the fences all the time.

The more I see of Phillips the more Im getting used to it and Im liking it.

phillips had a decent year a few years back when he was platooning with tino. he batted .280 or something like that. his story is just another great example of torre mismanaging a team. torre has a kid who look promising and goes on a hot streak, then torre sits his ass, and he goes cold when playing a week later.

Because Torre doesnt know how to manage youth, and now that hes desperate he has no choice but to play him more and more. Im sure if he keeps hitting and fielding well he will start next year at 1B, and this will give them even more of a reason why they should get rid of Giambi (ESPECIALLY if Shelly keeps hitting). This also saves them alot of prospects by not going after Teixiera, instead their trade for the year should be for Rowand. Hopefully they could dump Damon in that deal, maybe go 50/50 on the contract.

UPDATE: Shelly Duncan hits another HR!

The score now... 18-3, 22 hits for the Bombers.

Posted by Vlad on Jul-22-2007 20:29:

So funny how we were just talking about this yesterday...

Torre pulled A-Rod, moved Phillips from 1B to 3B and moved Shelly from DH to 1B... and now Sean Henn is hitting in A-Rods spot.

Posted by Vlad on Jul-22-2007 20:33:

GODZIWWA!!!!

We have officially cracked 20 runs today. =)

Just when you think they would take it easy with a 15 run lead, nah, they keep scoring... Melke singles... score now 21-3

i feel validated....i wasn't 100% sure about that rule, but it's official. Rodriguez came out and henn had to hit in his position. whhhoooo....saved from feeling like an ass.
