i will post up the rest of my measurement if you need?

It's simple. Get rid of all drinks except for water, ditch the sweets and fast food, and stick with foods high in protein and complex carbs. If you're only starting out, keep it simple, otherwise you'll be harder pressed to stick to a strict diet.

why would you get fat first, just build the muscle from scratch. how much do you want to gain a week. and a better source of calories is healthy fats. what do you like to eat and how many meals a day do you eat?

thought it would be easier, make more sense just to build the fat then turn it to muscle, build from scratch it is.

i really dont havent a clue as too how much i want to gain per week, wouldnt even know how much it is possible to gain or what a realistic number would be.

eat anything really, steak, fish, ham, potatoes, pasta. usually only have one solid meal a day my diet is pretty much non-existent. i have thing about what proteins are in what food or carbs etc.

i plan to have a 3 meals a day now, with snacks in between of tuna and bread or something like that.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-10-2005 23:43:

you can't turn fat into muscle...it just doesn't work that way. the only thing is that it is easier to build muscle when you are eating in access of what your body needs...so you do gain muscle, but then you also gain body fat as well...

to gain muscle will i not need to change my diet so i am taking in more food?

will i just keep the diet i have now, which is only one big meal a day, the results wont be as good if i set myself a proper diet in which i get protein and carbs i need?

i'd start eating 3 solid meals at least a day. i wouldnt bother with ham cos it's low quality protein. steak's really great, irish angus round steak (or fillet, if you've got the cash). peanuts are real good source of fat and have quite a bit of protein in them too, mixing them with eggs or avocado is ideal, though the taste is somewhat horrible. check you're weight in the morning a day before you start the diet, check it the exact same time the next week, if you're not gaining, up the amount of steak or whatever a day by 100-200. if you train hard enough and don't eat an unnecsarily high amount of carbs you should gain weight without gaining any fat.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-11-2005 05:13:

alright...

MONDAY: January 10, 2005

Woke up and did 30 min of cardio...

Push Ups = 10 / Pull Ups = 2 (hahahaha...i can explain later )

-went to school / work-

ARM DAY:

BB Curl (65 x 11 , 65 x 10 , 65 x 8)
Tricep Pulldown (40 x 12 , 50 x 12 , 50 x 8)
Wrist Curls (10 x 15 , 20 x 15 , 20 x 15)

DB Curls (20 x 12 , 20 x 10 , 20 x 10)
Tricep Extension (75 x 8 , 75 x 7 , 75 x 7)
Hammer Curls (20 x 11 , 20 x 11 , 20 x 10)

not doing abs before bed...

ok couple things. first thing that really kinda messed up a lot of my routine for the day was how sore my abs were from a couple of days ago. man, you never realise how much you use them until you can't haha. mostly effected push ups, pull ups and tricep exercises. second, i bitched out on the third triple set i had planned on doing...i guess i can try and use the ab thing as an excuse for that, but that's all it would be. i think it was more to do with me not eating enough carbs today so i didn't really have the energy to keep going on...

come on people...own up and post your day to day training...it'll help keep you on top of the ball...

Posted by Ygrene on Jan-11-2005 07:03:

Today was an "off day" for me, hehehe....

Mondays and Friday are my "off days" with little or no weights

Tomorrow is supposed to be chest but, I hurt my elbow dunking tonight - We'll see how tender it is tomorrow and if I'll be able to lift.

i was just wondering if swimming was a decent enough for cardio?

i cant get me head around the hole threadmill lark, so need something else.

Posted by verndogs on Jan-11-2005 19:02:

I usually do 40 minutes on the cross country ski machine at my gym before and after I go to work every day (burning a total of around 1200 calories according to the machine)

Think I am overdoing it?
