Yeah, I thought about them but I think it's going to be really difficult to make up all that ground, especially considering how tough the central is.

You're absolutely right about Santana. His numbers are ridiculous after the all star break, they always have been.

Minnesota does have the toughest schedule of any of the teams in the wildcard race.

I hope the yankees didn't use up all of their hits.

I thought the same thing yesterday...Thank fuck we're only playing the Royals...An impressive scoreline means nothing if we can't win this series...Also on top of that we need the Red Sox to drop a couple of games also..

I must admit though,,I"d put money on TB winning their series against the Sox...I can also see them dropping a couple of games against the Indians.....

As I said before... they are gonna heat it up after the allstar break. I think theres alot more to be tapped into. I have a feeling Abreu will stay hot for the next few days and there might be serious consideration for a trade, if they dont trade him, Im afraid to say he will gets here and there but for the most part plateau. I also think Rowand wont come to the Yankees before the trade deadline.

How do you figure? I would put no money on that.

For that series we're going to run out Wake, Lester and Dice-K. We'll see how Lester pitches tonight (really looking forward to it) and I know Wake's been up and down but I don't see how we lose more than one game in that series.

i'm just a bit worried because we did the same thing just before the allstar break when the yankees won 11 games in a row (or something like that) and then went on to lose three consecutive series in a row against NL teams.

Hopefully the consistency shows up at this point in the season. As for the red sox and cleveland series, i have no idea who im rooting for. As a yankees fan im obligated to root against the red sox, but at the same time i don't want cleveland to win 3 in a row. I think a nice split 2-1 cleveland would be fine. That way we would be even in both the Wildcard and AL East races.

BTW....glad to see Jon Lester is healthy enough to come back....with that said, hopefully he'll continue posting a near 5 era.

The runs and hits are still in full swing.

Even Damon is getting in on it.

i'll be satisfied when we do it against a 'major league' pitcher.

Too many damn teams diluting the talent pools.

the reason is that every team in baseball is earning profits, except the yankees. check out this article:

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/33...all_Income.html

The number you want to look at is the earned income. With that said, some of the small market teams have huge earnings compared to other teams because of the luxury tax. And that is also why the yankees are losing money.

I rarely get excited about a reg. season win but this was a nice one for the Sox tonight. It was cool to see Lester go out there and pitch well in his first game back.

Well said. That's what impressed me the most. A couple of big double plays and that Sizemore strikeout with the bases loaded really defined his night.

Well, when you sign players like Abreu and Damon... yea, youll be losing money and games.

I agree with James...I love it when we spank decent teams but when the game is won in the first two innings against teams like Kansas,, I feel sorry for the fans...I'm glad they managed to score a couple though..At least the fans can go back home to their trailers with sumfin to talk about...
