So I figure it's about time to do an into, as the big moving date is quickly approaching (I should be on my way if not in Savannah, GA in two short weeks!)

Real name: Mitch Anderson

DJ name: DJMaytag

Age: 29 (ie OLD)

Location: Savannah, GA

Occupation: not sure yet, gotta get me one of them job things pretty quickly after I get down there! Was a DJ, lighting designer, and a records buyer for a dance shop in Madison for the past couple years.

DJ experience: Been playing out around the greater midwest for about 3 years, be it in Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Chicago, and Minneapolis. I'd love to get some opportunities in the south, but am unsure of how much I will be persuing DJ gigs at this time.

Producing experience: Got hooked on the music after going to some raves in 1993 and I went out to get my first analogue synth in 1994, and started writing tracks by 1995. Didn't have any advanced producing technology available to me until recently, so things went very slow and methodical (if at all). Acquiring some nice multitrack programs and soft synths has greatly increased my production abilities, which will likely be my main focus after moving to Georgia. See http://www.djmaytag.com/discography.php for more info...

Music tastes: I love progressive house and trance, but still have a soft spot for any form of acid, be it acid house, acid trance, or acid techno. Currently working on producing tracks that incorporate elements of all three (I guess you could call it "progressive acid tech trance" or something?) Hoping to see a resurgence of acid based music in the near future.

Favorite DJ's: Marco V, Tiesto, Armin, Chris Fortier, Steve Porter. I'm sure I'm leaving someone out...

No, that list was pretty complete...

I've never seen PVD spin live, so I can't really say too much about him. I don't think he really spins nor produces the kind of stuff that really gets me going, but that could all change when he plays in Jax later this year (yeah, I'm definitely going that that show!).

Hope to meet ya there, if not sooner!

I'm not sure how my car is going to hold up, so I'm not planning on going to any ATL events quite yet, but I definitely will once I get a new set of wheels!

Jax would be about the safest distance I feel comfortable driving right now, so if you're at that PVD show down there, maybe we might meet then!
