The big pitchers duel was yesterday, DiceK vs. Sabathia.

Originally posted by steven-neil it does have its draw backs though...for instance there is a blackout on all saturday daytime Yankee games...Fox have the rights to these games although they dont transmit them.....

Originally posted by jerZ07002 yeah...that's stupid....why don't they just use the fox tv feed? Or for each local area blackout, they can use the local tv feeds (and build in the subscriber fees) that way they aren't screwing the local networks of their advertising or other fees.
i've used MLB TV premium outside of the country and yes, it's sweet as hell
it's a great feeling to see the "nationally televised blacked out game" online

we're up 14-9 and tito feels that okajima needs to come in to pitch the 8th. Here's hoping he brings papelbon on to pitch the ninth.

Originally posted by djstopngo Further, having watched Cleveland for 4 straight days I can safely say that they're not that great. Carmona & CC are both very solid but with the exception of Byrd they really don't have anyone else who can pitch. Westbrook sucks and Lee has given up like 26 runs in his past 4 starts. Just abysmal numbers. Plus, and nobody told me this, it looks as if Haffner has forgotten how to hit.

Todays loss I consider a mulligan because it was Igawa pitching.

Originally posted by djstopngo haha yup, good call on your part. I think if the Yankees win 75% of their games from here on out they'll take the wild card.

Originally posted by steven-neil We're 7.5 games back with 61 games left to play and you are so sure that we're gonna scrape through by taking the wild card...I love your Boston spirit sir but deep down inside you are a little worried.... Ps...what is your name....
Did anyone catch the debacle with the A-Rod 500th home run baseballs..Fucking hilarious..It turns out that if he hit his 500th last night it wouldn't have counted due to the fact that we have an unfinished game with the Orioles still to play...
Also every time he came to bat the balls had to be swapped for verification purposes,,this was strange cos they kept walking him..Also he fouled a couple off into the crowd...It's kinda complicated and I haven't got the vocabulary to explain it proper...I'm sure James can elaborate..

Things get really weird if A-Rod homers in the make up game with the Orioles tonight. If he did, that would mean his 500th homer occurred two days ago against the Royals since this make up game is essentially taking place "in the past."
That would make some random Royals fan very lucky. Baseball's such a weird game.

That was possibly the most exciting two innings of baseball that I have ever seen....

Originally posted by djstopngo oh before I forget, I thought picking up Molina was a really smart move for you guys. It minimizes the amount of offense you lose when Posada doesn't catch plus it allows you to keep Posada fresh and keep his bat in the lineup when you let him DH. Good stuff.
