donald brashear comes close to being pepe. the closest equivalent is definitely marty mcsorley. and funny enough, mcsorley's victim was brashear.

I don't think it was any worse than the boarding of kostopolous on leafs this last season, but I do know it wasn't as bad as the other 2 people who i've seen do stupid things, ie. chris simon & bertuzzi.

Posted by elFreak on Apr-28-2009 18:05:

if you look at the kostopoulos hit, it was dirty but not anywhere near as dirty as bradshear's.

the leaf player turned his back ( a big nono and a great way to get hurt.) Kostopoulos did not stop, but it was not as intential.

Bradshear was head hunting here, the puck was nowhere in sight.

stick to soccer..SOCCER

this is why i love hockey. They can settle issues on the ice. football has antagonists who hide behind refs & the knowledge they can get away with it.

congratulations to the capitals and their fans this was a crazy series. i do feel bad for the rangers though, it's tough losing in seven.

Posted by trunks1022 on Apr-29-2009 02:03:

Fun game. Saw a lot of red all day today - it's nice that DC is finally rallying behind a team.

Hey now, let's keep our heads up. Real fans support their team no matter what, especially Devils fans. We're not like Rangers fans who put their jerseys in the closet for a few years til they're good again... Like it says in the "Greatest Day" commercial, "People around hear always love an underdog..."

wow chiiiillll with that

you're right and I honestly do have the utmost support for the devils and I'll never forget what the season brought and what they struggled with but this one just stings man...it hurts real bad but the green and red brodeur #29 jersey still hangs on my wall...the real devils supporters havent had the chance to show themselves because the devils have been so consistent since 94...once that rough stretch comes, then we'll see who supports nj

Okay... Well we're on the golf course now anyway, so no trash-talking until the next season, unfortunately..

2 great games last night. Lots of great goaltending and bone crunching hits.

tally up your picks and pick the second round.

The caps deserved it because the rangers thought they had them and took their foot off of the gas.

The canes deserved it because the devils laid back with the lead an paid for it. The game could have gone either way, props to both teams. Both games showed that good things happen when you don't give up, and that every shift counts. It is why i love this game so much, especially in the playoffs.

post up your predictions guys. (i don't know how to set up a playoff pool) Warning I don't think the habs will win really but i can't bet against my own team ever. Hate them or not sean, you gotta stick by your team no matter what.

Bruins vs Habs

pick Habs in 7

Rangers vs Caps

pick caps in 6.

Carolina vs New Jersey.

pick Canes in 6 (could go either way, but the Canes are on fire since they got cole back, if they steal one on the road they are tough to beat at home.)

Philly vs Pittsburg.

Pick Pens in 5.

SJ vs Anaheim

pick ducks in 7.

Columbus vs Detroit.

pick wings in 6.

St - Louis vs Vancouver

pick nucks in 6 (although i am rooting hard for the blues, so entertaining to watch during the 2nd half of the season)

Chicago vs Calgary.

pick Calgary in 7. (this is going to be a killer series.)

yes, i think there will be no sweeps.

btw the habs and bruins essentially have the same teams as last year, the difference is in the seedings, metropolit is with us, ryder is with them.

1st round = 6 of 8 right , no correct number of games.

round 2

east

carolina vs boston.

take carolina in 7

washington vs penguins

take pens in 6

west

detroit vs ducks

ducks in 7

chicago vs vancouver.

canucks in 6.

go.

pens in 7

west

detroit vs ducks

detroit in 7

chicago vs vancouver

chicago in 5

Pens & Caps gonna be sweet! I would rather have seen both in the finals, but what can you do.
