George Acosta - Dj's on X
chemical brothers
prodigy
daft punk
orbital
underworld
they all got me into EDM, early-mid 90s..
oh yea.. I was also into writing little tunes with modplug and tracker stuff
BT - Nocturnal Transmission got me into trance.
Frank Klepack's work on the Command and Conquer soundtrack got me into electronic music.
BT - Sunblind is the first one I remember.
Well I had an uncle who was into EDM when I was young so I was brought up on a diet of Snap's "Rhythm Is A Dancer", 2 Bros. On 4th Floor's "Don't Wanna Be A Freak", MC SAR's "Another Night, Another Dream" & so forth! So I can't think of a definig song that got me into EDM. If I had to think trance, I'd probably (embaressingly) admit it was probably Sash's mid to late 90's stuff that got me here (Stay, Ecuador, Mysterious Times et al...)
probably, history of disco
for me it was
Techn-O-Tronic
Chaka Khan Remixes
Robert Miles
Paul Van Dyk - 45 RPM
Paul Oakenfold
Daft Punk
Chicane - Live in Palladium
Daft Punk and Chicane i have them at my work place, my home, my iriver, and all my backup CDs
Prodigy for EDM
for trance it was Tiesto
The Crystal Method - Trip Like I Do
2 Unlimited - No Limit.

it all started with that and the "reptile song" aka Traci Lords - Control (Juno Ractor Instrumental)
What originally got me into electronic music was when I listened to various Eurodance, such as Eiffel 65. Then I heard some random trance tunes on a college radio station, and I fell in love with trance. Then my friend let me listen to some Oakenfold discs.

I wanted to congratulate all of you to interest you as much in the music. I am also an unconditional of music. I do not conceive the life without it. The song who got me into electronic music was the soundtrack of Midnight Express : The Chase (1978) by Giorgio Moroder. However, in my point of vue, the best electronic music is really from France. I think of a french group very good called "Air". I only would like to kindly request you to listen to the track entitled "Electronic Performers". This is for me the best electronic track of all-time, all over the world... Listen to it, and tell me after what do u think. [email protected] Sincerely yours, Camlon. |

| I just started typing "techno" into Napster and hitting search |
Jean Michel Jarre when I was 8 years old. Then came Adamski and Bomb The Bass. Also loved Technotronic back in 1989.

Not a song, but what got me into electronic music was: oakenfold's havana cuba essential mix back in '99
been listening to it recently
At first, I listened to Michael Jackson's music. Then I bought his Blood On The Dance Floor album and
it introduced me to some very nice House tracks.
After that, I got into Scooter and I still like their stuff. Soon after that, I bought the compilation "Clubland X-Treme 2" becuase it gave me a sneeky peak at Scooter's "Jigga Jigga". I also found out about quite a few other artists from that compilation including CJ Stone, Friday Night Posse and Voodoo & Serano. But the discovery of Ron Van Den Beuken is what I am most thankful for that CLX-T2 gave me.
The Ratty Remix of Timeless was on it.
A while after that, I noticed a free CD in a magazine which stated it was mixed by Above & Beyond. So I got sum of A&B's stuff.
They took me through Anjunabeats into the world of great, uplifting Trance.
And now, here I am, eager to get as many Trancemaster compilations as possible!
Two sets got me into electronic music.
Oakenfold - Home @ Space in Ibiza '99
Oakenfold - Live @ Havana '99
Agnelli & Nelson - El Nino (Matt Darey 12" mix)
Oh man, lot's of old stuff mentioned in here...
Anyways, for me, stuff like Ice MC, Maxx, Real 2 Reel(sp?), 2 Unlimited etc pretty much led me in the direction too the music I listen to today.
But, the song that got me completely hooked was DJ Tiesto - Sparkles (Transa Re-Mix)
