Picotto was awesome but I went over to the guvernment at around 3 to check out Deep Dish. They really kept the party going...it seemed like every song they played more people started to dance. I planned on leaving with friends at 6 but I just couldn't bring myself to leave when the music was that good (yeah, stayed 'til 8). They played a lot of good tunes but they ended with 2 great ones:
Coldplay - Clocks (I think they mixed 2 remixes...anyone confirm?)
P Diddy - Let's Get Ill (Deep Dish Mix)
Too bad they wouldn't play an encore ... I think Toronto's been pretty good to them all the times they've been here!
ps that damn whistle guy...seemed like he was everywhere!
The night was one of those "Ok" types of nights... Nothing really special. Almost all time spent at KoolHouse. At the end was thingking to hit theGuv, but the sudden interrupt changed all the plans..
I want to thank all the TA's for attending. It always good to see you guys there, which adds a lot more fun (sometimes everything) to those parties. The biggest down side of the night was when I was not be able to find charmscars
. Hope next time it'll be different...
Have fun all and hope to see you soon.
LKD, what the hell is taking you so long to post the pictures??? i'm really getting mad!!!

Oh, and here's one more to add to DD's tracklist;
MAS Collective - In My Mind
awesome vocal tune that came after like 2 songs after In My Mind. Went something like "Addicted to the music I like" at one point, I think.

u don't know the vocal song by any chance? I know Steve Lawler also dropped it in April.
ok here is my review!
Saturday GUV
meh it wasn't that great, more a chill night
left @ 5:15, silly me for going two nights in a row.
music wasnt my favorite. i'm used to hearing better stuff from Mark Oliver
Sunday GUV/KH
all round a wicked night - i found it had a much better vibe than sat. night
not down with whistle blowers either - fuck not in my ears thanks!
for the first while i stayed in the kool haus then moved on to guv around 4. im not sure, but i think mauro wasnt that into his set. he didnt seem very hyped to spin.
deep dish seemed more into the crowd.
my buddy hooked my friends and i up with wristbands for the stage part which was wicked because it wasnt packed at all up there and i got to stand behind deep dish and watch them play. (there was a screamer/howler up there though! maybe related to the whistle blower)
i was happy to end my night with coldplay. not a bad mix.
other than that i usually can't remember anysongs
the event was packed as usual but not as bad as i can remember.
i was very weirded out by the parking lot coat check, i felt very sketchy and the daylight was too hard to deal with. i didn't like all those coppers staring.
now its off to catch up my sleep since i did work a full day today.
shout-outs to Liam (DJ El K@y DEE) and the tall guy beside liam(i forget names sorry), swamper i saw you go by me a few times but you were too zippy and by the time i figured out it was you i was too damn slow to go after you and say hi!
Maria
Alright, upon closer inspection and reflection I realize that I've confused the end of Storm's set with the beginning of Total Science's. I was in there twice after Storm finished, about 3 hours apart; I give both the TS and the local talent that came on afterwards (and before Storm) a 9/10. It seems that this city has several locals that can clobber the international DJs.
I did not think Mauro's set was "off" either, as some people say. I think people are saying this because he varied his style quite a bit as the night progressed, but the transitions were really quite smooth. I still give it a 9/10.
I didn't comment on the crowd earlier - to be honest, I agree with the people who said it did not impress. I give it maybe 5/10. There seemed to be a lot of tweakers, juice heads, etc. and not a lot of serious partiers, which is especially bad when the room is packed shoulder to shoulder. Really, not a lot of people were dancing! That's unfortunate, BUT - the TA massive and my own crew made that a whole lot better, and the lack of energy & crowd vibe didn't bug me so much. You guys who say the event lacked energy, maybe should have spent some time with TA posse.
I agree that the vibe does matter, but you guys should realize by now that it's up to you to make your own party, you can't just feed off whatever vibe is in the venue at the time.
Incidentally, the Orange Room seemed pretty energetic to me (not to mention friendly, and I mean very friendly
) all night, but to be fair I did not spend a huge amount of time in there.
P.S. Liam, where are your pics? Quit buggin' Bizz!
P.P.S. Fantom, dagnabbit, quit bein' a wimp. Trust me, it's much more fun to meet the massive than it is to be mysterious.
where are the pictures?

i'm sorry, but since this weekend i just can't accept deep dish as party/club djs...
their live sets are too monotonous, too bland, unemotional, indifferent, common, too everyday run of the mill boring house... i guess the one word i'm looking for to describe them is, 'blah'...
they have some good productions though, and their label puts out decent stuff, but why they're so bad live is beyond me... it would've been nice to have heard 'forget the world' live again, love that track, oh well... :/
i just wish they span like they did on 021 cause that was fuckin awesome

Getting in on this thread a little late. My brain just started working again. Not much of a review other than to say that I loved Mauro's set. It was nice and heavy, but never boring. I've seen him more into the crowd before, but I had a blast all the same. I'd also concur that the crowd itself didn't have a great vibe going on....then you add that f*ing troll doll with the whistle standing right in front of me (have we all agreed on how to kill him yet? please keep me posted)...not a perfect night. Next time I'll find the rest of you guys BEFORE we leave the club!
Which brings me to the main point of my post - just wanted to say how cool it was to meet all of you. Thanks especially to Tara (I'll definitely hang with you and the crew next time out!) and Nathalie for introducing me to some of you. I would have hung around a bit longer, but I was trying to locate a stray friend (turns out he'd been home for hours.....bastard...).
See you all next time!
