If there's an acapella it better be better than the SOG one.

Posted by DJ-Kreing^^ on Jun-28-2003 21:50:

Hey another remix comp! Iv been waiting for that...
You can count me in

Posted by arctic on Jun-28-2003 23:14:

Shit sorry i disapeared after suggesting all those tracks heh

Ok so fatboy has agreed on dammaged. Before we can start, we need to

a)work out the judges
b) get a midi made
c) acapella organized (i've got one, we just need reliable webspace to put it in)
d) get the rules organized, and get the server space for the mixes to go to once they're done....
e) the the list of people doing it

sorry to spoil the party, but i don't think we're quite ready to start yet

I'm stuck on a 14k connection for the next 2 days, because i was smart and went over my cable limit (yes, cable limit )
So the acapella will frankly have to wait, but since there are no rules etc, or even judges, i dont think it will make a difference.

Can anyone volunteer some space/to be a judge/to do the midi????

Posted by DJ-Kreing^^ on Jun-29-2003 07:06:

I think we allready have the rules actually.
We could just take them out of the threads of the last 4 comps...

Now about the judging thing, why dont we just make a poll like in the last comp?

because TAs are too lazy to download and listen to all the remixes, so we need judges who want to do this job. It should be easy to find some judges.

About the midi files I've only found the midi for the monophonic ringtone ( ) but it's better than nothing.

About the webspace I think I can host 4 or 5 remixes

Posted by rb2k1 on Jun-29-2003 08:55:

Ok i can host all the files.. and i can even maintain everything.. check it out here: www.rb2k1.com/remix

I have also created the midi files for the bassline, the intro lead, and the main lead.. i hope they are correct. I made them by ear according to the original club remix of plummet damaged download them at the site above.

Contact Me at.. [email protected] anyone who needs to add things to the page and what not.. whoever is running this should also contact me so we can get the rules up on the site and also the judges.. remixers.. ect.

I also need that accapella so i can throw it up for download.

Hope this will be done soon.

Thank You

~Rb2k1

P.S. The midi's i made are about 95% correct.. check out a preview file i made using the midi's i created: LISTEN TO THE SAMPLE HERE!!!!!! Save Target As!!!!

i don't think i'll remix it, but i'm willing to judge!

Posted by michif72 on Jun-29-2003 11:25:

OK, Damaged isn't my first choice but it's ok
I think it was a good idea to remix a non-trance track....but if this is your decision then let's start!

Posted by [mart] on Jun-29-2003 11:43:

Just out of interest, who decided that Fatboy would choose?

Posted by Bren-F on Jun-29-2003 11:53:

He won the last remix comp, so part of the 'Prize' was to choose the next remix comp track

BTW count me in for this one.

Posted by Shepless on Jun-29-2003 12:36:

Drunk

YAY, im all excited now gimme a midi and accapella, im itching to start!

Shep

P.S. - That link for the remix comp page doesnt work??

Posted by ABSYNTH on Jun-29-2003 13:06:

Question

Ok Plummit would not be my first choice for a remix but if that is what Fatboy has decided on then fine, only i dont think he has. It looks like he has just gone with what eveyone else has said

Not trying to dis Fatboy,(soz mate) coz i understand how little time ppl have, but if he did'nt have time to select a track then i think it should have gone to a poll Like i said i'm not trying to put a spanner in the works, i was just looking forward to a good remix of a track that was worth remixing

P.S. Bren did you get my pm?

Yeah, sorry mate. I'll sort that out for you later

Posted by Martin McG on Jun-29-2003 15:24:

ok ive grabbed the midis from the site (cheers)

if arctic cant get a good connection then ive got the pella also so i can send to who ever can host it or whatever!

just let me know if its needed! its the same as the one arctic has as he sent it to me a few days ago!

Posted by Phorte on Jun-29-2003 15:45:

ok everything's looking good so far.. obviously pending final song choice as ABSYNTH pointed out..

personally im not gonna even touch the midi files. i'll work with just the vocals and make it into a song that i think would be best fitting for them. i thought it was quite suprising that the midi's are offered (sorry, im still a newbie at TA.. i dunno if this is whats usually dun in the past) but the other remix comps ive been in (not trance though), no midis were offered and part of the tackle was to let the producer work it out for themself..

either way, cant wait for this to be on its way!!

Posted by noikeee on Jun-29-2003 18:08:

I want to participate on this too.. remixing a track I haven't heard must be fun

just need the acapella to make the crappiest remix of them all

Posted by Nightflowers on Jun-29-2003 19:07:

what's the bpm of the original ?

Posted by rb2k1 on Jun-29-2003 20:10:

For those who are out of the loop check out: www.rb2k1.com/remix/

Posted by Martin McG on Jun-29-2003 21:33:

ok ill email it ASAP

i think its from the antillas mix!

Posted by [mart] on Jun-29-2003 21:36:

I'll see if I can come up with anything once the acapella is available for download...

Posted by allstar on Jun-29-2003 21:40:

meh, I don't mean this to sound bad, but I'm not entirely sure that Plummet - Damaged is such a good choice. I mean, there are already many remixes of it, which kinda limits us somewhat... Surely it would have been better to have picked a track that has not yet been remixed..? But hey, never mind.

Posted by Martin McG on Jun-29-2003 21:47:

as it seems not everyone is entirely happy with the song chosen!

im not too bothered but as the pella and midis were available i thought it was a good choice! the pella is still available if needed!

i reckon we should figure out the song before we go any further! but as Fatboy won the last comp he should get to decide as thats the way it was worked out before!

so whats the score with this comp then? whats the tune going to be?

You will hardly find a song that has never been remixed...

btw. count me in for the comp
