Does anyone else think the scoring system is a tad bit unfair? 5th place recieves 20% of the points compared to first place. Atypically the difference between first and fifth on a leaderboard is far less than this (afterall your not picking "5 from your spectrum of producers from good to bad", your picking your *TOP 5*). Should it really take 5 "fifth" place votes to equal one first place vote? I think the scoring system needs to be weighted in such a way that 4th and 5th place votes actually count for something. Having first place count for 8 points instead of 5 and 5th place counting for 3 instead of one would work out a lot better as an "accurate" representation imho.. or better yet just having every vote count for "1 point" would be perfectly good and fair. I would hope that all 5 people on your top 5 list are so close to the same that switching them around wouldn't make much of a difference (in your mind) but the points they get would.

Why all the problems with the voting system? This is just a TA Poll, not like it's going to be printed anywhere.

Yes, its not like it matters.

After the voting is over, if anybody would like to devise a super complicated yet fairer voting system, then mark the many hundred sets of votes using their own system, they are more than welcome to.

I will be using this system cause its pretty easy and I believe it to fair (and as simple as it is it will still take me hours).

This is the very same system they use for DJlist.com (except they have 10 votes not 5)
