imo i reckon it would make for a much more harmonious (scuse the pun) forum, if there was genre segmentation. i mean, i look at the itm board and i see a lot of intimidation by the tech/house folks and people just dont feel comfortable posting. but thats just me of course.
A forum is a good idea, but I reckon a text-only version of the newsletter (like Juno) would be a better idea

Vinylwarning Rocks!

sweet site
Nice to see a remix of adagio for strings in there this week, im pretty sure it sold out overnight, lucky i check at 1am on thurs ^^.
Regardless, get in more urban train (original mix), i would killllll for a copy of this
i think updates on Wednesdays are a very good idea, as most people get paid on Wednesdays or midweek at least..
that would increase sales i think
also
a forum is a good idea. but only for a few categories.. obviously split into the different genres that you offer too...
vinylwarning, kicking ass in Australia...

i rkn a forum on vw would b a pretty mad idea...
would it be linked with like what u buy n stuff? like u just create a nickname no ur already done profile n use it for teh forum?
or would u have to register again for the forum?
and a section for each genre would b good i rkn
Ideally we would set it up so the forum would be accessed using your existing account details although im not sure what this requires. We could also do some fancy things like automatically creating a thread for each release like on www.di.fm how it has "Read & post comments (134)". This would do away with the existing review system in favour of a forum based system containing a poll in each thread so you can rate the tunes.
i dunno. would have to be well moderated so dosn't get filled up with useless and irrelevant shit

| Originally posted by 00soups00 i really think they need to make the updates on Wednesday as most people get paid midweek, and i think that is a much better way of doing it, and will definately increase sales to all the vinyl addicts who don't know how to budget ![]() *me included* |
that is my main reason for wanting wednesday updates. For example, the last order i placed was on the 7th of may at friday 6:30, when they updated. I didnt get my confirmation till the 11th, and since i didnt want to spend 15 dollars postage for 2 records, I'm still waiting for them now.
Eparcel says they are ready to be delivered today though. Its just the turn around time when they update on thursday/friday is so much larger than a wednesday. Which sucks for people in Wa.
Re: upload times
Regarding upload time, well unfortunately it's not looking possible to do it earlier than close of business on Thursday. We could upload tunes each day as they become available, like Chemical do, however we don't feel this is appropriate because it means you need to check the site every day.
For Melbourne customers we may offer same day courier services in the future so you can have your tunes on Friday.
Agree with Jeremy here.. a mass upload would be more logical saving time so you dont have to check the site daily....
and means more tracks to get excited over... it works for me
Any comment re the plain text newsletter?

please check PM reemo
i think that a courier service would be a mad idea, or some kind of system where you can actually pick up your records or something, kinda annoying that i have to wait till tuesday for records, when i live 5 mins drive away from kew :|
i think a retail outlet for Vinylwarning.com.au is the next logical step....
i think that would be an excellent addition to this business..
not sure if its viable enough, but i think picking the right locality is paramount.

yeah an optional text-only email would be good.
