-- 2003.12.12 Robbie Rivera / Willie Morales @ Sound Emporium
Pages (5): « 1 2 3 4 [5]
Following up to my above post before I go to sleep (FINALLY!) - I don't think the partygoers left sometime during Robbie Rivera's set because his set sucked or stuff like that. Personally, I didn't expect Robbie to drop some heavy house beats like the ones he did. Sure, it was great and his set rocked, but I guess if you take his new CD and hit single "Girlfriend" and fit it into this, some people might get the wrong impression or something like that ... if you know what I mean. Or maybe I am just totally wrong, maybe it's the venue ...
I would like to thank the DJs - Robbie Rivera, DJ Mute and Willie Morales for spinning their best (my friend was impressed!), Ministry Of Sound for sponsoring this ... event, Tatgirl, Skeletor and few other TAs who were at the party for everything ... It great with you all. And my friend Brian for hanging out with me all night and his first dance music nightclub experience - without y'all it would have been MUCH MUCH worse, beyond hell, experience ...

Well I'll start of by thanking all those that did manage to come out on friday, and sorry to hear about what happened to you Magnetonium, I wish you would've come to me to sort out that mess you were hit with.
Anyways, like Nat pointed out, the party had all elements there, the amazing music, the wicked vibe, great atmosphere, etc and except for the turnout, heh. It's a real shame that the talent that was showcased on friday went so very unnoticed in this city. I hope that the reporters from Much Music, Urban and Nocturnal magazines that were present at the club generate some positive feedback at least for Rivera and Morales, so as they a much better experience next time they come around. They would definitely deserve it, since they both played such amazing sets and both demonstrated such great personal character. I wish they had better luck in San Antonio last night. I know for sure that I'm looking forward to hearing them play again in the spring during the WMC in Miami.
Since Nat mentioned pretty much all I was going to say, I guess I'll leave off by saying that in the end it was nice meeting some new TA's there too and of course hanging out with the TOTA veterans, as usual. Glad you guys got copies of those MOS cds and I'll be seeing you again at System very soon.

I only have a few minutes.. I have to catch a flight, hope it's not delayed due to snow storms both here and in Moscow
I had a really great time at this party. Too bad a lot of people decided to skip it. We didn't expect it to be this empty because Dan ran the announcements all over the place. But the crowd that did show up was great.. maybe it just felt more intimate because of all the Serian posse that was there haha
Music - terrific from all three DJs. Dan, as usual, was great, dropped quite a few very well known tunes. I enjoyed Robbie's set as well, however I do have to admit that last time I saw him he spun harder and funkier.. but that was a different situation. THC and Bobby were wicked as well, really added to the vibe.
Great seeing all the people there.. and aside from YU crowd, a few TAs: Natalie - you really tried to bring everyone together and it looked like you were having fun, it was great seeing you there. I was also very delighted to have met HANSOLO and SOOPER
wow, you guys are something (hope you come back to these boards), as well as SKELETON for a second.. and great to see JOHN EZEIKEL drop by (mwua
).. a few houseaddicts as well
ciao tutti

. Oh, for veterans you say ... Does the CD have lots of the tunes that were spun that night, including Girlfriend and Da Hype?
^^^ I'm pretty sure you misread that, please re-read the whole paragraph carefully, paying attention the punctuation.
If you PM me your address I can mail you a copy of that MOS cd, or tell me what is the next party you'll be at and I'll bring you one.

Magnetonium was definitely the man of the night! next to the women of the night which is of course tatgirl!! thank u so much for leting me crash
ure a true angel...
it seems like every knows about my and my towing incident hhaha.. i got there and wanted to get in so badly expecting an amazing turnout i didnt even check that i parked in a no-parking zone.. when i got out i see my car isnt there.. OOH NOOOOO... the turnout was honestly pathetic.. it was so sad at the end.. it was me, Magnetonium, his buddy and like 3 other ppl dancing around cheering for rivera.. thanks to nat, me and her got into system for a reduced price
and i had a great time there meeting new people.. over all a great night.. shouts to all the TA's i met!
Sketetor, sorry that I couldn't spare you any of my change ... I kinda also lost you guys after you and Nat left, and I had no idea where System was, but I would've been happy to go there ... instead we walked around the downtown for some time
and settled at a coffee store and discussed the events of the night ... LOL, OH, BOY, what a night it was.

| Originally posted by Magnetonium Why do so many people despise Viva? I went there this summer, and the place is awesome! Great stereo system, lazers, VIP area, great crowds, great prices! Is it cause there's a lot of Asians there? Well, at least you gotta admit that Sound Emporium is much worse than Viva ... |

no i dont dislike it cause of asians.. just dont like the scene there.. i like to be with ppl who go there cause of the music.. not for the drugs.. i mean drugs are great.. but it seems that ppl just go there to get fucked up than to dance and listen to the music.
i dont really care about lazers.. actually i preffer no lazers.. theyre just a distraction.
Nats PICS for this event are UP!!
