you show me someone who didn't, and i'll show you someone who wasn't there when he dropped it!

he'll be at tonic in rochester wednesday, my actual b-day. he's coming down with some of my TO boys, and i was going to meet up with them for dinner, and go watch him spin.

however, my sexy persian girl (shit, i don't even refer to her by her name anymore because of you guys) that i couldn't get in the guv (because it was so packed) to meet last night wants to come down and take me to dinner.

but...she has an exam thurs monring, and i have thanskgiving dinner, and driving 1 hour to rochester doesnt fit in her after dinner plans.

i guess i can see dekoze anytime...

oh yeah...

dekoze = pure energy behind the decks, and opened my eyes and ears as to how awesome tribal techno is

What an awesome night! My first time seeing Sven and he did not disappoint. Picotto was alright and I enjoyed the last hour of his set. Can't forget dekoze, he got the crowd going. Once again it was a pleasure partying with all the TOTAs. We kicked some serious butt on the dance floor. Shout-outs to TOTAs I met for the first time - Halo 20, DJ Moonshine, Vicky Vale, Walter Mindz & PseudoCoder. Birthday shout-outs to Desidel, Samhouse & Vicky Vale. Wish I could have made it out to the after-party but glad I went home by 9AM. Needed some serious rest after the pounding I gave that dance floor. Woke up at 6PM... LOL! Until next time boys, girls & vivid boy... take it easy.

Yup! I agree dark room ruled! I had to request it cause this tune wont get a release and so it deserved to be played in toronto clubland (we all know what happened last time at KH)
I WAS VERY tired cause i worked earlier that morning at 6 so i was not well rested. Sorry for acting like a resident evil zombie to those i met on the stage. (ie Halo20, brunette) Mauro gave me many thumbs ups and laughs! cool guy and great dj, even though his skills are debatable. HIGHLIGHT was the pre-meetup! shame on you who stayed home. Learning graham's "chugali'arlie". Best toast EVER! Julia you were in such a good groove i didnt wanna bother you! True2the crew same to you man, said hi but you were looking right through me. Laughed it off! Props to RJ for holding those fucking cumbersome sleeves!

Now the shouts!

TomEboy
SexyPersian - we three represented meganite. (Who was turkish delight?)
Diginut, Desidel, Tatgirl, Graham, Endlesswave, Francis, June, Shannon, Ken, Maxtuh, RJ, True2TheCrew, Fuad, Brunette, Skipper, Tordan, Halo20.

Time to go play Manhunt for PS2! Simulated murder rulez!

Smiley DJ Vath and Picotto

Well, this is my first post, better make it a good one. On my way to this show i had been told by technoaddict that it would be like nothing i had ever heard live before. he was right. dekoze got me moving in anticipation for vath. i had seen vath a year ago, but he was ten times better this time around, the intensity never stopped. this was my first time to see picotto and i must say that he is an amazing dj with some crazy tricks in his arsenal, but vath was the better of the two on this night. picotto had me standing waiting for music, vath didnt give me a chance to stop for a break. i did like the way picotto moved to the music, like he was our puppetmaster. i met a lot of ta's at the show from ottawa all the way to california. to sum it all up, best show ive ever seen, met some great people, ang, dan, jeff, joel, tim, tom, bart(wherever he was) thanx for a good night and a great show. peace, im outta hear.

Well I have to say this was an increadible night. I was a bit concerend that an entire night of techno might give me a headache, but even after I left, I was craving more.

Vath blew me away. His entire set got more and more exciting and the last hour had me gasping in disbelief

Picotto was much much better than last time in TO. He seemed so into it, and it really helped boost the energy level right up front. The place was going crazy to his newer productions, but he really lost the crowd after the first two hours.

Went over to the guv to hear Mark Oliver drop a few BXR goodies and PUSH - Strange World. A nice track to end the night...

Nice to meet a few new TAs, and the US crowd (might as well move here)

Peace,
Rich

I meant to, but forgot my camera in the car....doh!

Posted by Orko on Nov-24-2003 18:12:

it seems that not a lot of TA's went to this, considering the number of posts, for the Vath party. This is very strange considering the number of people there, it was rammed!!!!

I for got my camera too, but im hopeing, some TAs will save me and post their pics.

As for the tracklisting, im no good, cause i only recognized a handfull of songs.

Did anybody else think it was kinda out of hand? I saw four fights just about to start, but finished before anything went wrong. Did anybody see the guy who climbed on top of the speakers near the front, to say whats up to oakey> He was crazy! it was sooo high, and im sure he was too. I would have been scared of the bouncers. They almost threw him off, trying to pull him down.

Posted by tatgirl on Nov-24-2003 18:21:

Daniela! (lunasea) I had NO idea u were coming!!! Can't believe I didn't see you. Hung out all nite w/ Brianna- even she didn't tell me. You shoulda PM'd me.

Julia- what? no shout out? Did u even leave to go to the other side w/your bracelet?

Ill- I think I met you...? Did I?

There are so many freaks at those events lately...In a way it's starting to be a lil disapointing some of these people are completely out of hand and ruining the vibe...but then again some of them give you some laught too...
But just out of personal experience starting from the Tiesto party at the docks to the guv anniverarry party...there has always been crazy freaks at all the parties jumping on stage, blocking views dangling baloons infront of a dj's face and doing some other crazy shit that for some reason they think is cool and everyone will love .
I'm loving it when people are jumping going crazy and enjoying themsleves but I'm not cool with people being stupid and starting to cross the line...

*Sorry about the reduced cover, it was a misunderstanding from my side. *

I thought the turn out for this event wouldn't be a that crazy, but I was very very very wrong. The KH was insanely busy and from what I heard, the GUV was nutz! The line up to get into the Guv from the KH was retarded.

Deko-ze was slick! Perfect opening DJ for this event.

Sven Vath stole the show, hands down! Killa set! He set was very impressive and took me by suprise! BIG UP VATH!

Mauro Picotto, was ok ... hand the crowd the way he wanted but, sometimes within his set, it was lacking. He still put on a great show!

VIBE was wicked and nuff hands in the air for all 3 DJs! Nuff HOT girls in the KH. "DANJA!"

Sexy Persian and co = You girlz are simply wicked! Sorry I couldn't wake up to go shopping with you girlz today, I was way too tired and slept in big time I hope you girlz return to DET and LA safely!

ALL the TA & None TA rude boys = You guys held it down proppa!

TA girlz = You girlz were lookin' HOT tonight! Keep it up!

Massive thank you to all the North American & Toronto TAs for coming out!

Goodnight

E2EK1EL

HEY HUN WHATS GOING ON ITS HEATHER JULIAS FRIEND ! YEAH THE PARTY WAS UOT OF THIS WORLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

ahh now that i've written my test this morning, i can finally review saturday night...

started the night off at guv around midnight, but the place got way too packed, way too early, so i sought refuge in the KH right away before they ran out of wristbands... i originally went to see oak, but i'm glad i caught sven instead... he fucking killed it... mauro on the other hand, a dissapointment, just like his last appearance at KH earlier this year... what is it with him and his performances at bigger venues? i caught him twice before at system, and both times he killed it... :/

anyways, the crowd in the KH was really great too, vibe was amazing too, everyone was there to party! i like what they did with the stage, and better yet TA's claiming it as their own turf, lol! oh, and it was nice finally meeting you halo20, and you too waxen...

next up, LAWLER!!

NYTA meets TOTA...

Totally missed the meet up. Got to the club around midnight to see a RIDICULOUS and it was COLD. Fortunately my brother's girlfriend was a big flirt and we skipped the line and went in Guvernment through the glass room upstairs (D'luxe or something?). We immediately went over to see Sven Vath. It was my first time hearing him live. I was totally digging it..

Anyway...I really liked Sven but I had to see Oakie so I went back to Guv for his set (he owned me, btw). When I came back to Kool Haus for Picotto I ran into Nat and she introduced me to all the TAs. Sorry I can't remember everyone's names but it was SO NICE meeting all of you and I had a great time! Mauro's set (tho i missed a bit) was just what I wanted. Well, perhaps a bit MORE. I went back to Guvernment for Mark Oliver went Mauro was done. A good ending.

Highlights:
Meeting all the TOTAs - incl Swamper who I spent half the night looking out for. LOL.
The hot chick dancers
SMOKING IN THE CLUB

I loved the whole club and was really impressed with the security and the crowd. I can't wait to go back!

I'm quite late for my review... but I needed alot of sleep and my internet connection wouldn't work since I left for the event.

It was my first time in Kool Haus for a techno/dance event, as opposed to all-ages rock music events there. It was an ok night.... but let me let out the bad parts first... they must be released...

- the wristband policy and cover charges being changed ruined the nite for me and my (first-time-clubber) friend, who was dying to see Oakenfold after DekoZe and Some of Vath, but since they fucked with admission charge and wristband policy, we both got angry and disappointed.
- I didn't brink enough cash to drink enough over the course of the nite... but yes... I know... that's my fault. stupid me.
- The place got too packed... and as some1 mentionned b4.. I don't mind grinding with the ladies.... but NOT with the guys!!... don't these space-taking fucks realize there's a guy behind them trying to enjoy the show and not their ugly naked sweaty backs!!.. of which by the way there were too many... but hey.. you can't change what people wanna do.
- Maybe I was wrong to assume I'd like evrything they played. I'm a true trance fan and love the occasional techno/electro, but to me, there was just way too much of it. I'm probably not a fan of these DJs that much if I mention right now that 5/6/7 hours of that stuff was not my kinda thing.... way too repetitive...
I can mix a set of that stuff anytime and pick clever spots to cut and bring back the bass to add depth and power to the set... But I prefer spinnign trance, so yea...that's purely personal opinion.
- I'm not sure this night was worth the $35 ticket considering we weren't allowed getting into the GUv, where I heard some1 mention they played more trancey stuff.
- and lastly... I'm not gonna get into details about the messy time I had trying to get home by transit after I left around 4:45am.. cus it don't matter anymore.

THE GOOD STUFF.....

- the hot femmelle-bartenders
- my first 19+ event at guv.. very nice
- In my liking of techno/electro and in judging set quality, I give Vath an 8/10 and Picotto a 7/10.
- plenty of ladies everywhere... but I'm "taken" .. so yea... blah.
- metting all the TOTAs in front near the booth and in the bars... you guys help make the party seem so much better!! (sorry... I'm no good at keeping track of ppl for shout-outs... so you know who you are if you met me... nice seeing ya!)
- the drinks
- the crowd and vibe was awesome!!!

NEXT EVENT TO HIT>>>> COSMIC GATE @ PULSE!!!!! !!!!!! W00T!!!>>>FINALLY!!!
