worst argument ever.

all this says is that hip hop is popular, but we already knew that.

popular music has very little to do with talent. ppl listen to what they are told by mtv and radio.

but not only that u must remember as well listening to commercial hip hop is just skimming the surface...those are just singles they put out to sell listen to their albums the whole album..even some of these commercial mc's like jayz have incredible albums that have alot more meaning then u give credit for...even eminem albums if u listen to them and get the total meaning ull respect them more...just because they put out these singles abt guns hoes cash rims etc doesnt mean their whole album is like that...in this day and age thats what sells so they make a quick few singles throw it on their album to sell it and the rest of their songs are the real art work which most ppl never get to hear

sorry but BS!

i've seen supposedly "deep lyrics" and it is still about hard times, almost always about hard times. THIS IS MOT AMAZING!! why don't they say something worth hearing, something great like mark twain, homer, poe, etc. the truth is, these so called deep and thought provoking rappers will be forgotten in a single generation at most.

because hip hop is based on ionward struggle.. the same with oetry and skaespeare..the whole notion of poetry is based o struggle..not about flowers and rosebuuds but life as being fuckin hard to live with.. tho i got to admit sometimes it really does get played out which is why i like throwing on a emniem tune or a jayz tune or a party tune...hip hop has soo many levels u wouldnt believe..theres chill out hip hop like outkast and a tribe called quest, hardcore gangster hip hop like shine biggie smalls etc.. theres party hip hop like jayz emienm to sometimes, lyrical hip hop where its just playing with the skills like cannibus and benefit..so many categories... and the best rappers out there are the ones who make rhymning exciting if u havent noticed...its one thing to rhymne and its another to add character ,thats what distinguishes crappy mcs from the good ones... and there are very deep rappers who say something worth listening too dl common sense or talib kwalei or mos def listen to them..very political and very well thought out rhymnes with a true message

"lets say ur ion a club not a trance party...what makes the crowd go nuts house/trance or when hip hop is thrown on??? yeah thats right the crowd goes wild when hip hop is thrown on and when u start whinding with a chick to hip hop"

It depends what kind of club we talking about.
When you going to a commercial club ,of course people will go nuts hearing hip hop, thats is why it called commercial club. But if you going to a Dance club, people will boo the dj out if he plays hip hop. I seen that happening before, everybody stoped dancing and was like," WTF, we are not in the top 20 club"

Vivid Boy - you make up a good point with the different levels of hiphop... some people are just naturally not fans of the style, I respect that... I'm not a fan of any type of rock, for instance. Hiphop's got its crunk stuff (Lil Jon, Ludacris), its chill stuff (Gangstarr, Dilated Peoples, The Roots) its gangsta stuff (2pac, NWA)... I like oldskool, crunk, and chill stuff the best... not too big of a fan of the gangsta stuff... it's all a matter of preference. And I think personally, while he's a fine rapper, 2pac gets *WAY* too much credit sometimes (is it because he's dead?)
