All I needed to hear was that magic word - OAKENFOLD
I am straight and super super excited.
Damn, all that bullsh#t about Tiesto not making it to Ultra, and for a minute I thought it might be true, but Tiesto loves Ultra(and Miami) just way too much!! To think Im going to see him twice in Puerto Rico and like two weeks later Im sure i will see him twice again in Miami. I should be the official Tiesto groupie!! haha. I cant wait to see Way Out West either, and Im hoping Guy Ornadel will be announced later also, I really want to see him too. This is definitely looking like the best Ultra ever. i cant wait..............

| Originally posted by Harmonic I need to agree with arturob here. I used to like Oakenford, before I learned how to spin, and saw him at Ultra 2001. He acts like a God everytime he touches the mixer. "Oh, look at me! I just gave you more bass!" "Oh, no! I adjusted the volume!" "Wait! Worship me for cranking the mids!" Don't get me wrong, he's good (snicker) but something about his additude/vibe rubs me the wrong way. I never thought I would walk away from an Oakenfold set... but I did... and I'm glad I did. He just gets too excited for what he does. (Which is not that much.)(Protects face from flying objects.) There are far better DJ's out there that stay down to earth and give better sounding mixes IMO. I'm not hatin', just my 2 cents |
Flame suit on
oakenfold to dj'ing is as michael jordan is to basketball.....used to be considered the best....was the best....and well he'll be ok for awhile........
He doesnt score the most points/woo the crowds like he used to....but he still sells the tickets and brings the excitement....
Will always be respected as one of the best and will always bring the media/ticket sales.....
Only difference here is that oakenfold has opportunities to be more diverse (in which he has taken advantage of) and of course oakenfold is still turning and jordan as we know is probably gone for good.....
people often forget oakenfold was turning records to dust while they were shitting their diapers....wether or not that means anything to them is one thing...but I believe in giving respect where respect is due...regardless of how well they can put one beat on top of another (oakenfold's sets are for the most-part perfectly fine....people majorly over emphasize that he can't mix...when i bet he'd put alot of you to shame on his mixing skills and track selections). With that being said
for oakey and kick ass at the WMC like you have been for the past years..
Yeah, who cares what he's doing behind the decks if it sounds good, just listen to the damn music! This isn't American f'ing Idol here.
