Yeah Sonique does suck...I hate scooter in particular..most annoying DJ around...judge jules has some great sets...esp the one at Qontact...he isnt the worst dj around but not the best either imho

Don't get me wrong, I think PvD, Tiesto, and Ferry are great DJ's, I am just tired of that kind of trance... (hey, its good stuff, that's how I got INTO trance in the first place....)

I still download all their sets, listen to their music, and buy the vinyl to keep up to date, its just not the first CD I'd want to pop into my player in the morning, if ya know what I mean!

What do I like? heheh, Patticus ya got me. I like the hard shit. Not "cheese" hard trance which is what i consider most of what the "hard trance" addicts post on here... All the respect in the world to Phanta C, but in my opinion the trance he posts as "hard trance" I consider "Chicago trance" (they have their own "hard" scene there). Kinda different than what I like...

I like BXR stuff... I guess you can say I've evolved, much like....Oakenfold? LoL....

We all go through phases of what kinds of music we like, and I have just progressed.... Although I'm sure I will jump back into uplifting (or "trance") trance eventually.

I still enjoy PvD at Gallery Turnmills, Tiesto at Energy 2K, Jules @ Qontact, Marco V @ Qontact & Mysteryland.... but my ears are with Picotto!

(I know this has NOTHING to do with the worst DJ, but bear with me here)

yep, verminator, this is the case! What i was saying was that i DON'T consider it "hard trance" like others on these boards call it. I call it Progressive Techno (because that is what Gary D. calls it, Mauro Picotto calls it, and Marco V. calls it...)

There is a LOT of misnaming of genre's, but its nobody's fault, as there hasn't been a clear set of boundaries laid down by any official "Trance Council" or anything... lol...

Patticus, we all go through phases of kinds of music we like. No doubt that techno in general is here to stay for me, but each year I like a different genre of techno... funny how that happens. Of course, I still love to pop in old Oakie '99 mixes and PvD from '99 mixes every now and then and relive the "old" days!

You want hard, hmm try acid lord hes still in the realm of techno, but he is so powerful and minimalist: its scary. Nostrum was always uber hardcore -> same with a choice bunch of raver fx. Come to think of it, most of my faves are somewhat harder. Cosmic gate had some hardtrance, as did Mr (DJ) Scot Project...

But I have to say I'm very similar to ya abt, once when i was entering the whole electronic scene, the greatest of the familiar trancers led the way, but yea im getting a little tired of the softer sound, and looking for crazier stuff (look up mp3.com/tommiehansen, hes sinister just like acid lord). I find myself dippin into D&B, hard house, industrial tech, and everything in between and around..

And yea as you once pointed out, Picotto knows wassup<-
