-- How Long Have All Of You Been Into Electronic Music?
Pages (5): « 1 2 3 4 [5]
1995 I was addicted to "Charly Lownoise - Wonderful Days" and "Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy". It's not really Trance, I know.
then.... a long break and I started again in 2001 with listening to Trance.
iv been into eletronic music since i was 6 so in 1992
i got into trance when my brother would give my sum live sets of george acosta and the awake cd
i've been in electronic music since around 1994/1995, you know those days the happy rave and happy hardcore scene were really big, and i loved the rave tunes, they are really great for me. You know there were some big producers around, called: Paul Elstak, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo, Das Modul, Scott Brown, Dyewitness and so on...
After the scene was almost dead at around 1998, i just went to trance, and listenin' to tunes from Paul van Dyk, Members of Mayday, and artists like that...
1999 was big for me, Ferry Corsten performance at Innercity was a huge thing for me, never heard before such a great trance tracks, what Ferry played, excellent mix, by the way.
and these days trance is better and better (i think),

I've been into electronic music since ... hmmm, about 1980, if you don't count "Revolution #9" from the Beatles, or "Switched on Bach"
I first got into Kraftwerk then, and the Flying Lizards, and Cabaret Voltaire, and Throbbing Gristle, and Chrome, and Laurie Anderson, et al. (Let's not forget the little-known masterpiece of sampling, "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" (1980 also) by Brian Eno and David Byrne.) But twas electronic music and was fresh at the time.
That was then, this is now. I've been on a goa/psy trance kick since 1997 ... somehow I found an underground trance scene here where I moved to, so I have gone from collecting mix CDs all by my lonesome, to a trance honeypot. The psy trance I hear today is what I REALLY wanted, back in 1980. Me so happy ;-)
Still an infant in this...
Got hooked only about 7 months ago.
I'll never look back... thought it might be another "phase" of mine, but since then I've bought a second monitor, a pair of Tannoy Active Reveals and a few softsynths to complement my KORG Trinity which I already had...
Added Project5 and been producin' since January. Definitely hooked!
1999
I started with 2 Unlimited, now I'm 85% Tranceaddict, 10% House, 5% Drum n Bass and 5% Techno
peace.

Been into house since 1995. DJ Lynnwood, SoCal DJ, was the man back then with weekly shows Friday nights on 99.1. But it wasn't until Dec. of '99, while at a friend's college party, that I turned my interest in EDM to Trance. It was at this party that I heard a Paul Oakenfold set for the first time ever. First time any type of music took control of me like that; coincidently it was the first time I ever rolled. Ha
i copied a few essential mixes from a friends computer in late 2000. i started listening to them non-stop and it's been all downhill since.
I have listened 4 years now.
