I, yes me, your honorary ATLTA voted NO,.. i will stand up to my vote and say that Arturo and I are both big supporters of the "NO" vote,... but I will also agree that this forum should be a bit more widespread,... and somebody earlier was kind of upset how we just HAD to keep the florida in the title,... i think it should be Florida/Southeast b/c the majority of events happen in florida and florida has by far a bigger scene than any of the other SE states,... ATL as a city has a fair share of shows, but thats 1 city when you compare to what all florida has to offer,... Jax,Orl,Tpa,Mia,WPB,Daytona,Tally,Ft.Laud,Key West(ok no event has ever happend down there but maybe some day),... im sure somebody will want to rebuttle with that you can add all the SE states together and then they will compare with florida which is true,... Florida is equal to the entire rest of the SE,... so in short it should be the Florida/Southeast forum...

if it's going to be Florida/southeast and whatnot....we've already got southeast in there, and truly that is all that matters...right?

So what's the lo-down? Are we voting for it to be simply SOUTHEAST... or is this vote whether florida gets into the name... or whether it goes first....bla bla bla bla

i thought it was just for either Florida or Southeast,... but i think we have tried to comprimise and let everybody win by using both names,....

It doesn't seem like there's a concrete subject for the vote right now, at least in my point of view.
if we're combining both names, SWEET....compromising is fun, but then the vote loses its purpose (which is fine, but im just pointing it out)...

2 seperate forums,.. a Florida and a Southeast(other than Florida) forum??? that could work too...

SOUTHEAST definitely takes the wholeness of it all....and isn't that the point?

What I am completely against is any proposal to separate the forum. It�s ridiculous on so many levels. First of all, Swamper will never go for it. Secondly� there�s a separate forum because both sides refuse to compromise? � Weak.

Personally, I think everyone voted NO feels threatened that �their� forum is being taken away. I have yet to hear a valid logical reason why it shouldn�t be renamed to just �Southeast�. All I see is blind loyalty. Even the argument that the forum should stay Florida because they get the most parties is bad logic and I�ll tell you why. Is the reason why Florida appears to have so many parties because they have an entire forum to themselves and people feel more comfortable posting under it? NC, SC, and GA combined have the same population as FL and that�s still excluding all other states east of the Mississippi. If you�re going to vote NO don�t insult me by giving some quasi-intellectual reasoning as to why.

Finally, I think we're forgetting the point of all this is not to decide what's a better looking name but to avoid confusion and include a wider range of TAs. Yes, FL/Southeast is redundant but it serves the originally intended purpose. It�s a compromise I can live with.

As I told Scott and LeeAnn in the midst of my drunken fury... I voted... No. Why? Because I'm a spoiled brat, and most of the big events happen here anyway. ULTRA, WMC, all the DJs go to Space, and we throw tons of FLTA meetups whenever we can. ATLTAs rock, I love you guys, but as I said, I'm a brat.

Though, Florida/Southeast sounds fine to me. I doubt I could ever say I was a SETA though... FLTA for life!

We all just need to come together..... if we're going to hear the music together, we should try as much as possible to be as one...

hell...if I wanted to be separate...I'd be asking for my very own, state of the art Puerto Rico TA forum....PRTA! BOOYA!

ohhh frisky are we ,... dude,.. im just pushing buttons like i said many posts ago,... again i do repeat that i care less what this forum is called,... its the people and music not a forum that makes us "together",.. the forum is just a means to bring us together,... i feel as if we are all passionate about our answers b/c we all love this forum so much b/c it has brought us all so many good friends and memories so regardless of what its called that wont change any of that,... so call it whatever anybody likes and we can just use the FLTA, AtlTA, or SCTA, or whatever TA to just signify us personally...

i only count 4 NOs man! read Scotts post. nobody has made a no argument. this blows. I was only saing to have the ga/fl/tn/sc/nc vs southeast to show how long the name would be if we didn't have southeast as the name.

and NO, the vote was either Florida OR southeast. never mentioned fl/southeast. if you want a comromise redo another poll.(and make it by cities if youre gonna get specific)

and changing it to southeast is just for the forum. nobody's gonna be a SETA. we're still gonna have our own FLTA AtlanTA whatevers...


and whoever said "cause all the DJs come to florida" puh-lease. maybe 2 years ago. check the facts. just cause they DO come to your city, DOESN'T mean they dont come to ours.

Ok seriously....this thread HAS BEEN DEAD for a few days.

We're up one vote on the YES....we deserve something out of all this.
If there needs to be a poll with more specifics, be my guest...
BUT we have all come to the point where SOUTHEAST is important in the name and Florida by its lonesome won't cut it.

So what now? Whoever is running this should start making some decisions as to the next step, or the final outcome.

Does it really matter? We are all on the same side, unless you're too good to be in same catagory as the rest of your fellow TAs (that would be just plain wrong). You can call yourself an "flta", just now the forum would include others as well. Besides FL is nice but it's not the most active forum in TA, etc: TO. There is no need to be selfish, that's not what its about. Don't mean this all to be personal, just wanted to get it out there.

that's a really cool attitude, exactly what I expected from all the FLTA's.
I guess some people took my poll/thread as some sort of anti-florida thing.. couldn't be farther from the truth I used to live in Florida many many moons ago, and I'm not trying to steal any of Florida's thunder, everybody knows Miami is one of the best cities on the east coast for dance music.

Hope to meet all you cool TA from everywhere during WMC... I'll be the only 6'7 guy with silver hair at the Armin/Markus/Rank1 party on March 8th, and again at the Kremlin part @ Space on Wednesday the 10th... feel free to come up and say hi
