We got to the club around 1:45 and the first thing that shocked me was lack of line - there were maybe 50 people in line or so. Usually, even if you pull up to PvD set 2 hours late, you still see a pretty substantial line, usually starting at the corner of West Street. That was actually a head scratcher - "what the hell? where are all the people? Did PvD show get cancelled?" Once we were in, my fears were relieved. PvD was on. The stuff he was playing at the time was hard - I couldn't tell if it was techno or prog - didn't really matter. I wondered around, met some people and ended up near the stage, where I got to say hi to Arturo and watched Edgar V get kicked off the stage for little while. Then, Danny T sneaked up behind PvD - I didn't know he was a fan.
Overall, for some reason I didn't feel the vibe in the crowd like before. Many people were dancing and having a good time but for some reason I felt that overall vibe wasn't really there. Overall, I would say that this set was 4/10. Like many said here - it lacked the flow, the speakers were out of wack - you could actually stand on one end of the bar and hear the reverb from the opposite corner - sounded like beats were not matched, on top of everything the sound wasn't as crisp as it normally is, it was rather distorted.
I didn't really care for track selection - didn't hear anything that really grabbed me. But that's just me. I think we're getting spoiled by easy access to new sets. Before, the novelty was the rush - now it is like "man, this song is sooo old".
I did like one song where there are male vocals "I feel you" - but I don't think it was a MarcoV song. He actually played that "I feel you" in male vocals and then it transitioned into Marco V's "I feel you". Can someone id that song? Also, great tunes were:
Ocean to Shore, Clear Blue Water, NuNRG tune (can't remember), and that slow song in the encore that kind of sounded like slow version of "crush" - Can anyone ID that?
One other funny thing - I bet my friend that PvD would play "nothing but you" at least once and then in encore he'd play it again. Let's say I paid off my drinks.
Overall, I wish I saved some energy on Friday to see Ferry on Saturday.
See you in April for Armin!

i FEEL this song!
the remix of crush played the most, with the most vocals since the first "original mix" was PVd ft Second Sun- Crush (vandit CLUB mix)
yeah, i feel you with "wundervoll vox" rocks!!

gotta say "a very nice set".. I loved it. Just too tired (heck i must be getting old)
unfortunately, he STILL spun NBY (yuck), but maybe it'll end soon
5 more days till Miami, let's see how/ what he does down there
Hey NYTAs
Well, as i said b4, i came up all the way from Montreal to b at Roxy for PVD.....got there are 11:45 (just in time for PVD's arrival) and wow, seriously, that must have been the best PVD set i have ever heard. I am glad that all the "PVD is bad in NY" shit i heard was nothin but bullshit, he seriously dropped some amazin tracks...I am not back in Montreal and i am seriously glad i attended his gig...
Highlights: the entire night was a highlight for me...Kinda disappointed though that i couldnt b there for Edgar.
Even more disappointing the fact that i came back to montreal "posterless"... And i saw a lot of posters stepped on at the end and stupid me didnt pick any...But anyway...(u can always send me one..
)
Hello again to the TA that had a shirt with a lot of DJs' signatures on...
Cheers,
P.S: Roxy owes me 2 packs of Gum and am kinda pissed cuz they took my cam n i saw not only digi cams but VIDEO CAMS inside...anyway... great experience!
gatecrasher flag
does anyone know who was holding up that gatecrasher flag ?
were they actual gatecrasher kids from the UK or not?
I saw a small one go up from the crowd at the middle of his set and a big one at the end.
Didn't get to find a lot of TA's since I got to the Roxy just when PVD was starting up. ROXY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE STUPID LINES FOR THE WOMEN'S BATHROOM. But good seeing Aturto!, Rick!, Flyboy!, Daniela!, Brian!
Just to add 2 more tunes I'm pretty sure I heard:
Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams (Ferry Corsten remix)
Haak - Frenzy (MK-S remix)
Anyone know what the really dark industrial sounding breaks track was? He played it around 5amish, maybe later. It sounded a lot like it could have been Einstrzende Neubauten, but it was more refined then their normal stuff.
