in my opinion, that was the best game montreal has played so far.

Okay, now that I'm relaxed =P

Heartbreaking loss, but come on guys have some faith. The habs outplayed Tampa big time tonight and really should have had the win. If they play like they did tonight in their next games this will be a long series, and hey, they still control their destiny =)

Posted by SiM PeRf on Apr-28-2004 05:12:

yeah, I still think there's hope, but damn....why do we always choke like that....this is bullshit...

it was a really nice game i enjoyed it alot except for the last goal
dammit

maybe they will win a couple of games but i doubt they will win a fouth streak vs tampa bay

we had to exspect loosing since we were playing with the first team of our division

cant wait for next game

if theodore makes the big saves who know where we can go!!

Tonight's game

Habibulin was amasing in nets tonight, i'm a little disapointed Mtl lost but at least it was a fun game to watsh. And i don't know if any pf you were near an admission counter when the tickets started selling but we have one at my cegep and deum people were ready to kill each other to get tickets for those games, at least they were fun games to watsh and were worth it.

A funny thing comes to mind : 514 productions announced that they were canceling Swirl cos the Canadians where possibly making the semi-finals and would need the bell center. So now if they loose we got no rave or cup in Montreal.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Apr-28-2004 15:12:

The crowd at the Bell Centre was one of, if not the loudest crowds I've heard all season. Can't wait to see some habs games there next season, or maybe this playoffs if they're still in it at the end of May =)

Only two teams have ever come back from a 3-0 deficit...and this Montreal team doesn't have what it takes to do that, though I hope I have to eat my words covered in shit. But goddamn...I almost broke my hand punching the wall when they tied it up with 16 fucking seconds. Who the hell didn't clear that puck!? And why was Rivet standing there like an idiot while one of the BEST players is waiting for the puck in front of Theodore? Idiots.

Gainey really has to do some moves in the offseason...namely getting rid of Mr. "I can't skate" Rivet, Dagenais, Bouillon, etc. I love Theodore, but he's just no Patrick Roy. He's let in more than a few softies....

Posted by Sean Walsh on Apr-28-2004 16:48:

It was Sundstrom that didn't clear it, and it makes me wonder what he was doing on the ice in the first place since he was by far the worst habs player all game IMO. I mean fuck, he could have made ANY play other than the one he did and it wouldn't have resulted in a goal, but there's really no point getting into "what ifs". I wouldn't exactly bet my turntables on Montreal coming back, but if they play like they did last night they can definitely extend this series. If they win Game 4 they'll be down 3-1, and that's a familiar situation for them, hehe.

The nucleus of the team is excellent IMO, and this is a team that will be good for many years to come. The top line is fucking awesome in every aspect of the game, from offensive talent to sheer work ethic. I really hope they sign Kovalev, because I think he's shown what a talent he can be and how hard of a worker he is, and especially how he showed his character by keeping a high level of play after the game4 disaster in the first series. They could definitely use a little more size, both in the forward lines and on defense, but aside from that I really like the make-up of the team.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Apr-28-2004 16:59:

I like the core of the team too, but Gainey needs to take a long, hard look at the defense. Souray is great and Komisarek will only get better as he matures, but he did cause the OT goal. Everybody gives Brisebois a hard time, but I say keep him around for his leadership and experience. Rivet needs to go and Markov doesn't impress me either. Quintal has seen better days as well and Dykhouse...let's not even go there.

I also hope they can sign Kovalev, but he'll be asking for 5-6 million and I'm not sure Montreal can afford that. I think he's worth 3.5 to 4 million and that's being generous.

As for this series, I don't think they're going to get swept. I have a feeling they'll blow out Tampa in Game 4 but lose in 5. But if they can get it back to Montreal for Game 6, you just never know.

Exactly, that's what I'm hoping for big time =)

C'mon guys its all over. You cannot win 4 games agains Tampa, if it was Bruins or any other team, but not Tampa...

P.S. Hope dies last...?
