YKTS = You Know the Score. Created by trancEaddict on ITM as far as I can tell...no1 knows it unless they either found out off him or guessed it.

STFU = Shut The Fuck Up.

yea i love my proper prog, the prog breaks is ok for a track or two, but i get sick of it for a whole set.

Tony dosnt play prog breaks, he plays melodic prog, it just so happens that a lot of prog breaks are very melodic (listening to Renaisance therapy session disc 1 now and is proving this!)

He just like the progressive sounds with a nice epic melodic sound. His sets are awesome, very well programmed, he really knows what goes together.

Lol so he doesn't play prog breaks, but a lot of what he plays is prog breaks. (that's what u just said).

I play melodic progressive, without playing prog breaks. Tony does like prog breaks, as long as it's melodic. Overall his style I'd say is just melodic progressive, but I'd put money on ~any~ of his sets having @ least 1 or 2 prog breaks tracks in it(which is melodic).

BTW the end of Disc 1 of Therapy Sessions is straight up/party breaks. [not that it wasn't expected, it is Phil K and all].

Also deep tribal pro tech house is going off at the moment

Hi I saw that a fair few people are tossing up between coming to this event and Rush. So i thought i'd chip in my two cents:

1) ARQ is an amazing venue and it is not every day we have the chance to hear Ultra uplifting trance music in a venue like that. When comparing ARQ to Icebox, ARQ eats Icebox alive.

ARQ has a massive arena with around 30 moving head lights on individual hydraulics, a dual full colour oracle laser and 2 high powered green lasers, it also has numerous special effects and centre piece lights. Operated by one of Australia's best lighting operators (as said by Elliot - Ellwa Home's lighting operator).

This is topped off with a 5 way custom built JBL sound system.

Icebox on the other hand has 6 moving mirror lights and one really old not very powerful laser. It also has a 3 way off the rack sound system.

2) I have noticed that the music of the two nights has been compared and people are saying Rush has Progressive, Tech and Trance and A Night Of Trance only Uplifting and Euphoric Trance.

Yes that is true but i'm sure that when the ANOT DJ's Jumping Jack, Diggs n Morro, Joshua van Aalst e.t.c. drop those massive uplifting and euphoric trance tracks you will be soaring a hell of a lot higher at ARQ than if you were at Icebox.

3) Not only this but normally as you know ARQ is a gay and lesbian venue. This is the first time the club has really been opened for a straight event. This is your chance to see what everyone has been raving about.

You can go to Icebox almost any night Halycon has been there, A Night Of Trance has been there and now Rush. It is a venue that has often been used for Trance.

Geeze, and I thought the Trance scene in Sydney was about supporting each other, not sticking the knife in. Sheesh, talk about ego! Glad you're not my marketing manager, my customers would walk in an instant.

Posted by Zureal on May-12-2004 12:11:

I'd have to say i strongly agree with what Josh just said. ARQ is amazing, and if you havent been there before you will be blown away. The lighting and sound is awesome, Icebox does not even compare.

That actualy makes sense too when you think about it.

no offence to any of the guys mentioned (I truly respect their abilities as djs) but I would much rather hear some fat progressive beats with a hint of trance as compared to some of the cookie cutter crap played by such djs! as I said only preference

(wears flame jacket, and looks to Wade, jace and Lethal for some much needed assistance)

"sticking the knife in"... very melodramatic.

It's difficult to "support each other" when another event running at the same time is trying to attract the same crowd and when the market may not be strong enough to fill both events to full capacity for the whole night. This is direct competition, even though Rush may not have intended it to be. I've already expressed my thoughts and feelings at some depth and length in the Rush thread on trancetribe, so I won't repeat it here!
