Tell me those are not all star numbers
hes doing better than helton, bagwell and alot of other big name guys in the league

yeah, but the thing with wilson is... he ISN'T an all star. he's having an all star season, but his career has not been all star. so it's understandable that he won't get it. but tejada is a VERY well known al SS. and he's doing MUCH better than jeter and nomar hasnt stepped foot in the batter's box all season. johnny damon??? wtf?!?!? look at hideki's stats. and he's on the yankees. i dunno... it's just such a joke. nomar will probably play one game before the AS game and wind up being the starter. ridiculous. with jeter backing him up and tejada the third-stringer. GAY.

the mets have been on a tear lately. whats the attendence like for the mets? that might have something to do with the voting.

? the only met who's leading his position is piazza. matsui is 3rd for nl SS. but other than that, no other met position player is really having a great season. glavine will most likely make it, possibly looper as well.

does anyone else realize that our top three starters are all under 3.00 era?

yesssssss

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-04-2004 04:12:

yeah, i def want the phils to win one of their games against atlanta. that way, if we beat the marlins again, we'll slowly move away form the braves.

but still, a part of me DOESNT want the mets to do good. wilpon, PLEASE DON'T TRADE AWWAY THE FARM!!!!! dont trade wright, peterson, kazmir... the big guns. pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeee! especially for pitchers like benson and/or garcia. bleck... not worth it imo.

Posted by Anno Domino on Jun-04-2004 14:17:

as much as i hate the yankees and the fans of those hired guns...

Jeter is Mr. October

and you will see why he can sleep the whole season off and come october have all your nuts in a vice...

btw would anyof you guys be willing to trade for Cabrera or Vidro

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-04-2004 19:11:

vidro isnt going anywhere. he just signed long term with the expos. cabrera is doing shitty this year and is a FA. he probably will not re-sign.

as for jeter being great in october, this is very true. *BUT* have we ever seen jeter go into october after having a season like the one he's had so far? nope. so who knows. this could carry over. i see jeter ending the season around .270 or .280... a far cry from his typical .300+ ba.

GIANTS BABY

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-05-2004 04:56:

ken singleton is a fuckign retard. "i think arod is as good as scott rolen at third base." can this guy be any more pro-yankee, anti-every other team? i bet in the past he's said jeter was a better SS too.

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-06-2004 19:59:

ken griffey junior. man... if this guy never got hurt, he probably would've been looked at as one of the greatest of all time. he would most likely have 600 home runs by now, at age 35. it sucks. oh well, dude's got 17 as of now. if only he could get the batting average up. but sean casey more than makes up for griff's average.

heh an interviewer of mine on friday had pictures of him and his daughter at shea at a mets game. i asked him if he was a mets fan and he said, yes he is. he then asked me if i was as well. i responded with a yes and told him i was going to the game that night (ice cube tray night against the marlins!). he said to me "it's really easy to root for the yankees because they win so much. it takes a person of real character to root for the mets."

i hope i get the job.

see where being a mets fan can get you.

BTW, the mets took philip humber as their 1st round pick, number 3 overall. i checked the video they have up on mlb.com. the scout definitely caught him on a bad night cause he was all over the place and the batters got hit after hit off of him. BUT, he has one of the nastiest curves i've seen in a long time. reminds me of barry zito's, but it's not 12-6, it's 11-5. nasty stuff. and his change was also ridiculous. it has so much movement. starts out of the strike zone and just bites right back in. NASTY. if you watch the video, it's the two pitches right after he gives up that double. first the curve, then the change. WOW.

time for interleague!!!!

Posted by DR86 on Jun-09-2004 02:04:

i got this from my daily stupid quote calendar...hope you like it.

"The pitch to Ron Gant.
...it's high, ball five"
--Cleveland Indians broadcaster Tom Hamilton

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-09-2004 02:53:

heh... i remember ron gant.

Posted by mets4012 on Jun-09-2004 20:12:

so who u guys vote for ?

American
1b - Frank Thomas
2b - Soriano
ss - Michael Young
3b - Mora
c - I. Rod
of - Guerrero
of - Ramirez
of - Suzuki

National
1b - Casey
2b - Kent
ss - Jack Wilson
3b - Rolen
c - LoDuca (.360 avg)
of - Berkman
of - Bonds
of - Craig Wilson

i want to put griffey but wilson has more hits and avg of 100 points better

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-09-2004 22:24:

but craig wilson ISN'T an allstar. griffey is.

i go mainly by numbers, but if it's a choice between 2 players and one is a known all star, the other isnt, i'll go with the allstar. plus griffey was my god in the 90's. do you realize what he would've done? such a shame he got hurt all the time.

i voted:

AL

1b- mike sweeney (thomas is a dh...)
2b- alfonso soriano
3b- hank blalock (hey, he's having a good year and he won the all star game last year)
ss- miguel tejada (i would vote for young, but tejada is more all-star material)
c- ivan rodriguez (is there anyone else?)
of- vladimir guerrero (he's not my favorite player for nothing)
of- manny ramirez
of- ichiro suzuki (i was debating between him and matsui, but i dig ichiro's style so much more)

NL

1b- albert pujols (only ted williams and joe dimaggio have done what he's done in his first three years)
2b- mark loretta (fuck the astros)
3b- scott rolen
ss- barry larkin (nl ss' suck this year. normally it would be, hands down, bernie mac [edgar renteria - my favorite SS in mlb], but he's not having a great year. larkin is doing pretty damn good and this is his final year)
c- mike piazza (gotta rep the team, and glavine can't be the only one)
of- barry bonds (...)
of- miguel cabrera (see albert pujols, cause we'll be saying the same thing about him in 4 years)
of- ken griffey jr (he's finally healthy again... watch out nl central)

Posted by mets4012 on Jun-11-2004 04:31:

damn wtf happened to the mets 2nite u have to be kidding me it should not have gone 15 innings it should have been 2-1 mets

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-11-2004 05:22:

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-12-2004 03:26:
