Be Cool!

I'm hoping he'll spin for 4 hours, especially with the price, but he is playing Ibiza the day before and I would be suffering from serious jetlag after staying up all night and then flying across the Atlantic. I couldn't even make it to the Loop for work after jug wine and 50 cent beers last night. Have faith in PVD though, he usually pulls through for his fans.

My wager is that he is NOT at this moment spinning more than 2 hours.

He did not change his set times at Vision until after he had been in the club and done a sound check.

Sound-bar will be the same way. Sure he may play longer, but I am still nto willing to spend 40 bucks to see anything at sound-bar. I like the place, but there is nowhere to rest unless you want to spend tons of cash on bottle service and with a PVD sized crowd it will be impossible to move, and even more impossible than usual to take a piss.

I had as much fun as I think I have ever had at Laurent Garnier when he was at sound-bar, but it was not overly packed so people were able to move around and dance.

Have fun those of you who ar egoing.

yeah, i really don't think that he's going to spin 4hrs. he only did it here on a special occasion, and i really don't think soundbar will blow him away, especially after he realizes how small it is and the fact that there are going to be so many people packed in like sardines. sounbar is probably trying to spread rumors to justify the ticket price -- which is somewhat ridiculous. to each his own. hopefully we can get confirmation either way, but i'll definately be seing him in london in a few weeks

hehe... sounds like we need to get buddy buddy with UWM or Autopilot.. problem solved.

if someone can confirm 4 hour pvd set... I'd be there.

Posted by autopilot on Jul-21-2004 14:54:

i always enjoy making new friends!!!!!

It's so funny how much speculation surrounds something as simple as a dj playing some records.

Looking at the set times listed for all of pvd's gigs, there are very few that last longer than two hours. I'm sure this one won't be an exception.

I hope the opener is good, because if he doesn't start until 2, I probably won't even wait for him to come out before leaving. I got 18 holes to play Saturday afternoon.

Exclamation

I received email confirmation from Paul Van dyk's management team:

"Paul Van Dyk is schedule to play at sound-bar Chicago @ 2 a.m. until 4 a.m. He will in all probaliltiy do an encore follwoing his scheduled set times ( 10-15 min. ) "

Atleast we can expect him to come out banging. No need for a warm up tunes. From my previous times I saw PVd play shorter sets ( 2hrs) he did not disappoint. Jerry is a good setup man for PVD.

I think the rumors we started to finish selling the remaining tickets.

Posted by UWM on Jul-21-2004 18:09:

If I end up going, I'm more anticipating Jerry's set than I am Paul's.

Unhappy Don't know

Shall I go to see PVD right here in good ole Chicago, or drive like
3-4 hours to see a great line-up at Blu in Detriot for only 15 bux? PVD's gonna spin what like 2 hours; for 37 bux I don't know about that? I know Markus's set will be awesome but I dont really know about PVD's. I hate decisions like this but I guess it could be alot worse!

SURPRISE!!

I can't believe people would pay for 2 hours of PvD...

Posted by autopilot on Jul-21-2004 20:26:

in other words, you can't believe that anyone would dare to have musical tastes different from your own

Posted by MOSCHINO on Jul-21-2004 21:04:

No, I can't believe that people would pay for 2 hours of PvD.

Posted by UWM on Jul-21-2004 21:10:

Blah blah blah.

Posted by autopilot on Jul-21-2004 21:29:

why the disbelief, then?

Posted by MOSCHINO on Jul-21-2004 21:48:

I just feel it's too short of a time. PvD is known for long 4-5 hour sets but 2 is a bit too short for me. Plus, with all my love to Soundbar, I have a hard time seeing PvD in this venue. It's too small for PvD massive caliber. I have no idea what the cover is like but if it's more then $20 it's too much for the experience.

Just my 2 cents!

I know...I've been such a slob lately between working my a** off and getting ready for the Oakie show I've meen MIA for a week or two.

As for PVD, that is the schedule that I was given as an opener so maybe Jerry is spinning from 10-2??? I wouldnt be suprised if Paul spins longer than his contracted 2 hours - almost all of his contracts are for 2 hours. Plus I think he likes Chicago now -- did anyone see that he mentioned he had great show in Chicago (vision) in his mixmag article?

armin loves us

pvd loves us

i wonder if tiesto loves us?

Posted by Dave Piazza on Jul-22-2004 16:03:

If tiesto comes back to redeem himself from his subpar performance this Junethan he does love chciago too.

Posted by wolverine16 on Jul-22-2004 17:59:

Tiesto loves us, he just loves his vodka too. The only way I can really validate the price for PVD if it winds up being only 2 hours is that it's a fundraiser and a whole $2 goes to rock the vote! OK, maybe that's just plain ridiculous. Well it's still going to be a good time and I still have faith that he'll be on longer. Otherwise there's Holden the next day for only an additional $10, which would be more than enough music.
