I do. So should you.

Those "people" that you refer to are going to pay your salary one day.

(and salary payers aren't just bosses, they're customers, clients, collegues - everybody who influences how much you make and where you go in life)

Listen, ask anybody here who knows me - I'm up for shit-disturbing discourse anytime day or night. In fact I honestly believe that some of the greatest insights and break-throughs often come only as a result of some good verbal sparring/concept exploring.

However its not fun being around someone who perpetually debates, shit-disturbs, pokes, prods and instigates. Frankly it gets pretty damn tiring being around someone who continually challenges opinion, thoughts, and ideas - non-stop, 24 7.

Point being: there are always going to be people that like to push and pull to see how far people can go and how much their beliefs can be stretched but seriously its not always necessary for people to play their game, respond back and fuel the machine.

Theres something in the business world called executive maturity to be quite honest, when I first got started in business it took me a little bit to figure out and really eternalize, and even today at times its hard to live by - but I always strive to show it. Executive maturity is knowing and understanding that sometimes more is said, by saying nothing.

I know you are all going to think i'm biased cause of the little flag by my name but I'd have to say aeroheli is right...come on to say that they love the US or jews is just plain stupid...that's being ignorant to reality...

If the political correct losers had their way we'd all just shut up and pretend that there were no issues. After all we wouldnt want to potentially offend anyone or get anyone upset now would we?

Hardly, I've been the one handing out salary for the past couple months.

And I'm not going to prance around watching everything I say just in case I may somehow hurt someones feelings.

This has been an interesting little debate.

No grudges right?

Come on Princess, how bout a hug.

BAHAHAHAHAH

Far too many people are villified simply for stating their opinion especially if it goes against the status quo. I think this country needs more frank and open discussions about everything that is important to us.

As they say, you can please some of the people some of the time... in canada we try to please all of the people all of the time. It doesnt work that way.

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-16-2004 14:35:

I think history has shown that we can't all get alonng...human beings never got along perfectly well and we always fight and always will fight...it's just our human nature...we can't force people to like each other...

So these debates are just natural, whether it's apropriate or not is a different story but anyhow...

I agree somewhat to what your saying...I moved to Canada about 6 years ago, I love this city its great....wouldnt wanna be anywhere else...ok maybe ibiza, but thats about it....people are great and friendly...but at the same time, we are not very proactive about having an opinion. We shy away from arguments, or someones point of view. What Canadians dont realise is, that yes, we are polite and we are fairly hospitable, but we should use all this to bring out constructive conversation. and that is how you get new ideas and you get understanding. I dont mind people objecting my faith or my activities as long as it is not insulting and vice versa.

I will add that canadians seem to get offended over absolutely nothing. Disagree with their opinion and many Canadians act as if you just killed their mother or something. No wonder people are afraid to say anything. Its like walking on eggshells

Just to touch on that, of course I'm not going to argue or debate with a possible contract. But, I have never ever actually been put in a situation where something like this came up.

I would never ever get into politics or religion with a client. Were talking business here. Business is different from just ordinary social settings.

Its not Canadians, its the entire human race 95% of us think that if someone disagrees with us, it's because something is wrong with THEM.
