Holland narrowly deserved it because they were better over the 120 minutes, and I wanted them to win the shootout because their record in those is even worse than ours.

Holland v Portugal looks a tasty fixture on paper but I have a bad feeling it will be a letdown like today.

Wish it had been England v Holland as the noise and colour in the stadium would have been brilliant and tackles would be flying in.

I just wasted 120min from my life...+ added time...

both played like crap..holland a bit better though...i have to saw that sweden was very unfortunate though..

hhaha where did you watch the game? i should've called you...


they should've just skip to the penalty kicks and get it over with

The game were 50/50!! Before the game the people in Holland said that Zlatan is stupid in some kind of way, and that we play terrible, that our team is no good. I hadn't anything against Holland, but after this, bad loosers, just like Italy. It's a shame! ..Ok u won, but not with honour!
We didn't play good yesterday, but I think there was a lots of nervs. Holland do have a great team, but hey, we do have a great team aswell.
The people on this planet, I think, must reconsider their thoughts about different countries. If a team/country played good football in 30 years, it doesn't mean that they are going to play good football 30 more years!

btw ..Denmark! Now I hope to see ya on the throne! ..and if not, I hope Portugal will win. They haven't said anything dumb!

- Zlatan is a brilliant player, but yesterday it was not his day!

I Think both teams deserved to win. Holland had the better chances in the first 90 minutes, but in the 2nd 15 minutes Sweden was really close (post and crossbar). You could see Zlatan was gonna miss his penalty. Too bad for Sweden cause they played good this tournament

Lol sweden played some sort of anti-voetbal...defending like hell and just shooting a long ball to larson or zlatan...but also holland played not really attractive football but atleast they tried...

Portugal vs Holland should be a nice game... atleast 2 teams that want to attack.....

What I meant was.. I don't like when u Holland people judge our swedish theme, or other themes. I don't judge all u guys in Holland, but there are a lot of u, who think you're god when it comes to football and you're not!
Today I read in the swedish paper that a journalist from Holland said that Sweden only got 3 players, that u can call footballplayers. If it was so! ..u had beat us with 5-0!! ..or ???

Sweden was defending way too much.. only team attacking seemed to be Holland, barely getting through that tough 10-man defense. Sweden was only dangerous through the occasional counter. That's why we deserved to win imo

Heh, arrived home yesterday just in time to see the penalties, it seems that I didn't lose a great game.
Sweden got a bit lucky on that Ljungberg penalty that hits van der Sar and goes in... but after that he saves the day.

lol...thats exactly what i was thinking when the PK's started...
they should come up with something like Silver Penalty Kicks to end the game at half time and play PKs if the game was too damn boring......or kick everybody back home

Euhm jantjeuh is just saying what happened. That has nothing to do with us thinking we are god. We admit we didn't played well but we alteast tried to play some nice football but the only thing sweden did was defending and after they got the ball well they shoot it to the front for zlatan and larsson. And i can understand why the dutch journalist said that. I mean 3 good players and the rest are defenders...and they only kick the bal hard away from their own goal...

that game had to be won by either teams which resulted in high class attacking football.
quarter finals are a different story, if u lose, u get knocked out. there are no other matches to balance a loss. no wonder teams won't show a bit of their skills, cuz 1 outbreak of the other team might cause them to go home. so defense is pretty tight.

as for last nights game, Holland tried to play football like they usually do, but Sweden had done their homework pretty good. they stopped the wingers just barely, but they did it. the reason the game looked dull was cuz you could barely hear the crowds. after all, crowds can make a game look a hell lot better.

"the people in Holland"? u probably only saw 2 drunk guys babbling some dumb words, it isn't the opinion of the entire country. i have lots of respect for Sweden cuz they played 5-0 against Bulgaria, a team which was pretty good in my opinion.
lots of Swedish players play in Holland, mostly at Heerenveen, and Zlatan at Ajax. (i'm a big Ajax fan )
Heerenveen has always been a plague for the bigger teams Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. it is never easy to win from them, thanx to the hard work of the scandinavian players.

Yep.. that's why the game was so crap for unbiased viewers

By the way.. was that goal of van Nistelrooy truely offside? Anyone got some video footage/pictures of that moment? It didn't look like offside to me last night, but my mind was a bit clouded then

I just want justice! We did a great game, and we do have more than 3 good players, and so do Holland. I don't like when people get too cocky.

I don't think we did a good game, but neither did Holland. It wasn't like we defended with 10 men, destroying the Dutch super attacking total voetball. Thats silly. The Dutch played just as bad, if not worse than we did. We could just as well have won the match. I usually like the Holland team, but when they achieve so little with all their superstars it makes me want them get punished. I'll be cheering for Portugal in the semis thats for sure.
