Its hard to have respect for somebody that stops in the middle of his set to sell his fucking cd's. Not only that but the man doesn't respect his fans.....always blowing them off and not signing shit. Fat or not.....Acosta is a fucking DICK!!!
No wonder the guy droped off the list this year......hes a fucking disgrace. If you want quality hard trance....you will find it in Fleming.

| Originally posted by Cobalt Depends on the context. Since late 2002, after the progressive boom, I really havn't liked Sasha's livesets that much. I love Airdrawndagger, but as intelligent and textured electronica, not as dance music. In the late nineties, though, progressive trance just didn't get any better than Sasha. GU 009, GU 013, Xpander EP, Scorchio, and his 1999 livesets are virtually without peer. Whether that makes me a Sasha whore or not is up to you. |

| Originally posted by Mattivi i have to get this off my chest... no offense to you guys who dont like acosta, but why all the hate?! because he's fat? and all this bullshit about him spinning cheese, define CHEESE. the shit 93.1 plays on there rotation is CHEESE. but every dj plays songs that might be classified as cheese not just acosta. and most of you that pass judgement on the poor man have never even been to a liveset of his before this sunday. WHAT the hell is that all about? thats like these harvard professors teaching MBA classes but that have never actually worked for a corporation(wheres the EXPERIENCE, in other words?!) it just seems cool to people nowadays to say "GEORGE IS FAT AND SPINS CHEESE" like all you other annoying assholes who go around parroting chappelles "IM RICK JAMES BITCH", jesus christ, say something original! now im not a huge fan of the man, but ive seen a couple of livesets of his and i tell you what the guy can put on a good set, he may not be a pvd or tiesto, but he knows how to feel a crowd, imho. and back in the late ninties, early millenia, the guy used to spin some of the best hard trance ive ever heard. i think when he changed his style from that thats when he started to slip a bit in my eyes, but thats besides the point. but for real, i love most of you guys in this forum, but sometimes some of the critisisms are totally wanker and brainless, and utterly unstubstantiated. sorry i had to get that off my chest, im not trying to start shit, take it how you like, i just sick of all the acosta bashing, if your so good why arent you up there? you know what i mean.. peace, sorry to get off topic! |
ill post my pics on fri nite thats when i get my digital cd disc from eckerds

Holy shit rach, thought u moved to new york and became a TA up there, since u are always in there and never in here, sorry ass trader!!!
Loved it!!!!! SO worth going to!!!.Yeah, the dirt was everywhere, all over the place, clothes, ears, nose, other places where dirt shouldn't be!!
We got there around 5pm, wihich was good, problaly would have been burnt out by the time PVD got on stage. George Acosta was great, awesome set!!!! and PVD was Awesome too!!
I saw a guy holding a vinyl infront of the stage, I should have a pic of it, and I saw another guy walking around with an offical TA shirt. but I couldn't catch him.
and congrats on catching those..........you suck, now make us all copies
all in all, it was a great event, and if you live within 4 hours drive time, there was no excuse for you NOT to be there!!!!
i thought the fireworks were alittle on the weak side, only 12-20 minutes long... But they were good. Better then being at home and doing them.
Other then that, I'm looking forward to going next year!!!
it only took me 15 minutes to get out of there, I parked on st marys st. it was 20 bucs thou
, and that sucked!!!
I should have the pics posted later this week.
Here's what I think about Acosta. Acosta was one of my favorite DJ's. Im talking about when he released "Awake".. 99-00. He was a big player on bringing trance down on SoBe, as well as hard german acts on the Shadow Lounge ( which I was able to go once .. Priceless ).. he was truly a king in the gem Hard trance, as well as the uplifting, which he used to play a lot as well. I really aprecciated he's mixes.. I saw him @ Ultra twice.. but right after 2000-2001 he started going downhill for me. First, he gets mad @ Hybrid, then he gets mad for not playing @ the MAIN stage, instead, he played on the second Main stage with Digweed & Sasha, therefore.. he DID not play.. what a cock. Then I go and see him @ Maze once.. let me tell you. This is what he plays.. all hard tracks, with the quite uplifting part in the middlfe of the song.. and thats how it went for the entire night, turning off the volume completely numerous times before the brake, posing like a friking god, pointing out at people and acting like Oakey in face expressions, and the tunes were all OLD tunes, old Sucky tunes, not that they were classics, after that, I said to myself.. Acosta is over, is done. Whatever he did in the past was good, but now, he just isnt any more, he's attitude, and the way he has approaced the music business, has totally gone down for me, I will always give him credit though for the golden trance years in 99, but now, he's not worthy for my respect, nor aprecciation. Only the OLD him deserves that.
And yes, now he's pure Kraft cheese compared to before.

This is one of the SICKEST songs I have EVER heard. I fuckin' LOVE it. It's the most emotional instrumental EDM song I have ever heard. I love this more than Love Stimulator, and that's saying a LOT. -> DJ Vesiga vs. Jomar - Nightoperator. And Paul played it on Sunday, and it's on tape. FUCK YEA. HE IS THE MAN, ENOUGH SAID.
