But how could PRODIGY make you a TRANCEHEAD? Wouldn't the term be "electrohead" or "breakbeatsomething"?

Was a bit of a tidy trax addict at first. Loved lisa lashes, tidy boys etc...

Can't remember which tune got me into trance. I remember loving komodo by mario picotto and there was a pvd tune i thought was fer good, can't remember wat it was called but i used to hate the video!

I think it was Cygnus X - Superstring somewhere in the middle of 90's.

Though after that I kinda ventured of to Metal/Classic Rock (Van Halen, and such) and then in the end of 90's got back in to trance with Ferry.

First time i went to a Gatecrasher party and heard binary finary - 1998 and Ferry Remix of barbers Strings for adagio. Never been the same since.

It was back in early 90s. I bought me a CD with various artists, on that there was this track called Autumn Dance. I can't remember the producer, maybe someone can ID that, here is a sample from the track:
www.kuffdamandplant.com/autumn

Anyway...this is the track that got me into trance.

Not 100% sure but, I remember that Jam El Mar & DJ Dag (Dance 2 Trance) did a track named Autumn Dance for compilation called No More Ugly Germans (which was released in 1991).

Listening to Reactivate and early Trancemaster compilations, and probably Oakenfold's Goa Essential Mix.

EUPHORIA VOLUME 1 for the mind body and soul.

Going back further, the earliest influence i had on synthised music was the Commodore 64. The SID chip was unbelievable for its time. I can remember back, to been only 4 years of ages and getting shivers down my spine from the sid music while playing games like Platoon and The Last Ninja 2.

well before trance i didnt like clubing at all, nor did i like house partys, then i heard random tracks at partys such as atb - 9pm till i come, darude - sandstorm. i noticed although they where just beats, i felt a higher energy level, and more focused into the beat then just a catchy hook. so deffinatly atb broke me free from the cheezy music that i was going back and forth trying to find substance. and then there was tiesto who basically just sealed my love for trance forever. quickly now i find myself partying more then i should and trying to throw house partys more then i should. its a terrible addiction indeed.

My friend Dan last year. Sent me Ferry Corsten - Punk (Cosmic Gate Remix)

Since then it's been nothing but a search for more...

Hi tranceheads

Well I've got 'Cream Anthems 2000' infront of me, and it has to be the following that set me off:

'Mauro Picotto - Lizard'
'Ayla - Ayla'
'Binary Finary - 1999'
....and well you get the idea! (most of CD1 if anyone has it!)

also 'Lost Tribe - Gamesmaster' too which found its way onto CD2 somehow

Others from my other lil fav 'Clubber's Guide to Ibiza 99' are:

'DJ Tiesto - Theme From Norefjell'
'Gouryella - Gouryella'
'Vera Cocha - Carte Blanche'

Lets party like its 1999

Rank 1 got me into trance...

Posted by ziddy on Aug-22-2004 18:07:

Now when I've thought this trough once again I actually remember that back in 96 when I was 10 years old I got my first CD that was not by Michael Jackson (was a big fan of him ). It's name was "Definitive Summer Hits 4" and on it was Robert Miles' Children. That was the first trance song I bought and I really liked it. Guess this was the trance song that got me interested in trance. After that I used to listen to some commercial dance music and such until I discovered For and Angel in 98. Ayla has also played a very important role when I got into trance.

DJ Tiesto - Live @ Energy 2000

Growing up from hard house useless stuff, and Sasha played a big part. AirDrawnDagger album, loved it, still do!

Posted by Reactic on Aug-22-2004 19:23:

As far as I can remember it was Rui Da Silva - Touch Me.. from then on I've started listening to trance (before dance music)

Posted by InoX on Aug-22-2004 20:43:

I think Robert Miles made me take that step from cheesy dance to trance in my younger days.

Posted by visje on Aug-22-2004 21:32:

it was the trance energy CD i bought once i like it and typed in trance energy into kazaa and found tiesto @ energy 2000... nuff said :P

Paul van Dyk's 1998 (or was it 1999?) Essential Mix.

Posted by Seventil on Aug-23-2004 00:51:

Orbital - Halcyon & On & On is the track that got me into electronic music. It still moves me when I hear it.

Posted by sigmanova on Aug-23-2004 02:13:

in all honesty i got hooked onto cheese first, then after time went on and i realized there was better music out there i moved on to turn into a tranceaddict here
