So it is coming?

or is it going to be another one of those...
"we retards here at the weather channel want to apologize for being morons and getting you Miami residents all concerned for nothing, like we always do.

Our sincerest apologies,
the imbecils at the weather channel."

Actually.. that was the problem with Andrew, people thought it was heading somewhere else.. last hour/mins, it goes down to Homestead.. catching all the unprepared, since then.. THis weather channel people take no chances.

Just look @ what happened with Charley, they said it was headed to Tampa, but it hit Punta Gorda, captiva.. most those people were alerted last hours/mins.. we learn from mistakes. This storms have their own nevers and brains.. and trick the most technological models.

I just checked up on my school.

Wednesday, September 1, 6:00 p.m.

Due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Frances, Valencia Community College will be canceling all classes beginning Thursday, September 2, and will not resume classes until Tuesday, September 7.

I'll be damned!

You guys are all lucky in miami this time. I'm up north of West Palm and I live 4 blocks away from the intracoastal. All government offices are closed, schools are clcosing after 1 tomorrow, my office too. My roommate and I (with some help thank God!)just finished putting up the shutters and we are off for a stiff drink and dinner now. WHEW, I have blisters and cuts all over my hands.

Falling Moon, it's better to be safe than sorry!! They're going to warn the entire east coast of florida it seems... but it seems like frances is headed for palm beach county... and if it hits there, we'll be feeling effects from this where i live....

I'm fucking SCARED, and i'm not exagerrating. My parents are in a panic... they booked a hotel in the KEYS, i dont wanna go to the fucking KEYS if this shit comes

Posted by DarkAngel on Sep-02-2004 00:13:

Am I the only one here who isn't worried about this?

The only thing I'm worried about is whether or not I'll puke from the violence as I watch The Passion of the Christ on DVD.

I highyl, HIGHYL doubt that highways are closed.. I mean, its still uncertain where it would hit, and people WILL travel if anything.. and if anything, we would have been told so.. Ive never heard of Highway closures.. never, only bridge closures tours the beach and such. So come bro, and experience this monster and party die hard!!..

look.. go to sunsentinel.com And look for updates, news, closures of w.e. they feel closing. They even have a hotline ( for rumors ) for you to call.. either dade, broward or palm beach.

This is probably what you heard...

# STATEWIDE: Gov. Jeb Bush declared a state of emergency throughout Florida because of the hurricane, activating the National Guard. The state's Emergency Operations Center was open.

# TOLLS:
At the request of the State Emergency Operations Center, tolls have been suspended in both directions on Florida's Turnpike from the Interstate 75 interchange (milepost 309) in Wildwood south to the US 1 interchange (milepost 0) in Florida City, to facilitate evacuation efforts due to Hurricane Frances. In addition, tolls have been suspended in both directions on the Sawgrass Expressway (Toll 869) in Broward County and on westbound I-75/Alligator Alley, between Naples and Fort Lauderdale.
