I know that what I download doesn't get shared... and I don't go around downloading from other TA's. Like I said most of us go out and purchase something if we like the MP3 that we download, therefore the MP3 is no longer illegal if we have purchased another copy/form of it.... I bet it is a pretty small majority of TA's that do what you are accusing 99% of us for doing. |

I think its something that should be discussed on here really - how everyone slates Tiesto/Armin/Ferry or whoever, yet if one of these guys actually came on there would not be a single person saying anything bad against them ... or theyd get banned.

Max isnt done with TA, hes just done with this thread Im sure!
Look at how the story arc was laid out.....and look what has come of it.
If you bothered checking Max's site youd see that he has posted mp3s of RELEASED tracks and liveset promos he himself chose to represent HIS work and whatnot. Filesharing and the ethics thereof are of interest to max, but he isnt fighting the war.
Mostly this thread was about calling out a douche that tried ripping off a producer only to get caught by the man himself. And much like the Political Forum threads this one has turned into some sort of black and white witch hunt because someone wanted to argue the opposite side.
I would say that many TAs share, as with our genre we arent necessarily exposed to the best music right out - yet with that comes the responsibility of honoring artists you respect by either buying their work or not whoring it out for your own benefit.
I might dl something but if its good I will buy it and go to shows, not repackage it and deny responsibility. Max, from the shows I have seen and the times I have briefly talked to him in person and on the net is pure class and isnt whining for a paycheck.
Any questions?

How many of you knew about this track before today? Sure it's advertisement. It's advertisement to go out and try to obtain this track before it's even been released. Job well done! Do you honestly think it was cool for him to talk about getting new vinyls in the mail and then imply that one of them was Max's latest?
Who the hell cares about your opinion about file sharing and that 5 trillion people have MP3's on their computer. Could you please post that 100 more times because I don't think that you posted it enough.
Bottom line...shouldn't the artist behind a track or remix be the one to release/debut their own track and not some wannabe internet DJ? Have you ever been around someone that produced a track and seen how their face lights up when it all comes together? Have you ever known someone to be proud about their work and talk about how they can't wait for when it is released? Why take that away from them? So you can look cool to all your internet buddies? Do you not have any friends that are artists? I would assume not. If so then shame on you for being such an ass on this topic. Go tell your friend that you wouldn't give a shit if some kid on the internet acquired their music and released it without permission. Just because someone has a track it does not give them a right to pre-release it.

| Originally posted by Laushinameee Im not pretending many people are going to care. but you should, its apparent that when an artist comes on here its very difficult to find anyone with anything bad to say about them ... again with the mp3 thing, we all know people download mp3, yet when there is an mp3 issue youll not be able to find anyone who does it... Its hypocritical that the moderators always chirp in with 'TA does not support filesharing' when there is a 'hub' which is associated with it for the purposes of sharing files amongst its users... and if you go against the trend you are silenced by suspension & bans. |
i know i didn't know about the track. i don't usually know about tracks until they get a big fuss on TA or they show up at juno.
but i really don't see the problem everyone is having with what max did. the guy came out and blatently said he had the new max graham vinyl...and max pointed out the fact that he didn't. if this jackass wanted to dl mp3s and listen to them on his comp...i don't care, but don't sit there and claim to have bought the vinyl and then try and pass it off in a promotional tool he is trying to make...that's just lame.

| Originally posted by hadi ****** yea its sad how it works. but i think tranceaddict forums does not want to compromise its place on the web by being associated with filesharing. imagine if tranceaddict forums was a big place to dl illegal mp3s, as well as this community we have. you think it would stay open for long. of course not. thats why, even if the mods do have illegal mp3s, they have to say TA doesnt support filesharing, to keep this place around for people who enjoy it and benefit from it. you just have to live with it. |
