Garner is a bonehead for using Lidge for 3 innings today. That is ridiculous. Is he trying to blow this kid's arm out? If Lidge is not the next Mariano or Gagne next year, I bet this will be the main thing people point to. He has been WAY overused. This isn't even a MUST WIN game for them, hence the reason Munro was used. If he wanted to win, he should've just pitched Clemens. Someone should buy him a copy of 'Saving the Pitcher.'

would've been a good move if Houston was able to score in those innings
is one extra inning really going to hurt him?

I see what you're saying. But he's thrown a lot in this series. I guess it's not that big of a deal considerng Foulke has more pitches so far this series. If the Astros go on to win this... CO-MVP in my eyes: Beltran and Lidge. Same thing with the Sox if they win: Ortiz and Foulke. Foulke has been just as critical in this series as Ortiz has been. Doubt they'd do that for either though. Foulke and Lidge would just go down as the unsung heroes.

i absolutely agree with the picks for MVP
let's hope both teams can make those possibilities happen!

Especially for Games 3-5, when the pitcher will need to bat, and there won't be a DH

im thinkin the same lineup as 2nite just with ortiz at 1B. maybe millar in right instead of nixon.

Yeah, that's what I think as well. Only problem with that is that you can't throw Mientkiewicz into 1st base in the 8th because Ortiz is your 2nd best bat.
