they gonna sign ZO soon ... if he gives them 60% of what he can give heat are gonne be a lot better not that they suck with out him .. probobly them and spurs .. i dont see any other team from west taking spurs on .. maybe seattle cuz of their bench i dont see suns doing many things in playoffs even tho they got one of the best records ... sacramento and dallas as usual come a game away and loose so forget them .. as long as kobe and lakers arent winning i am happy cuz i can't stand kobe ... as for iverson one word can describe him
SICK
1st half of the season almost coming to a close, so let's talk about the winners and losers so far ..
biggest improved team from last year : *tie* cleveland (kudos to what they are doing, after losing boozer, and gooden was a great pick up for them ) and washington (a nice improvement from last year ... who would have thought they would have this type of offense??)
biggest disappointment, team : *tie* minnesota (no comments needed .. when the gm feels he needs to coach the team, you know they have problems) and denver (you look at their starting 5, and you think they can run the table against anyone .. well not exactly now) ..
best team, western conf : *tie* san antonio and sacramento (i see this as a tie .. when these two meet up in the conf finals, this is going to be a very hard fought battle .. i say 7 games .. the only difference from this year than last year is cuttino mobley .. he is going to play a major factor with this team . )
best team, eastern conf : miami .. nothing else to say other than shaq really brought this team to a higher level above good .. and this team is not just shaq and wade .. eddie jones is a good shooter .. damon jones can hit the three's for them .. haslem is a consistent rebounder .. butler plays good defense .. laetner is there to give up his 6 fouls in cases shaq is in foul trouble or is tired .. laetner can hold his ground ..
coach of the year : eddie jordan, washington (flame me here, but his offensive philosophy is actually working in washington .. they are in playoff contention, and it actually is making larry hughes look good ..
)
rookie of the year : dwight howard, orlando (ok ... people are going to flame me here again, and say emeka okafor, but dwight howard is like a second coming of amare stoudamire .. wow .. howard is a pure athlete that can really work the paint .. he just needs some good mentoring ..)
biggest draft bust of the year : none .. i can honestly say that this year's group of rookies look very good right now, and can wipe the floor against the sophmores in the all-star weekend .. here are the rosters .. link
biggest disappointment, player : *tie* latrell spreewell, minnesota and jamal crawford, new york .. crawford was picked up by new york to compliment marbury to make a great 1-2 combo .. hasn't worked out so far .. crawford has his ups and downs, but seems not to be flowing well with marbury .. and for spreewell .. just look at his numbers, and shake your head ..

I wouldn't really worry about Dwights offensive game, he's almost averaging a double double, on a little more than 30 mins per game, with limited touches.
I'm quite happy about how good he's turned out, he's going to be something special in the future!
But the Magic should be winning a whole lot more... I like Steve's game, he always comes through in the clutch, but he needs to be a better defender. Which can probably be said to the whole Magic team.
Washington is the most overrated team. Their record may not reflect it at this point, but I don't see them being over .500 by the end of the year. They've lost 4 of their last 5, and got pummelled by 30 last night in Houston. They're simply taking advantage of a weak Eastern conference.

The east......i believe strongly that the Pacers are still the team to beat 5. the duo of Mike Fratello and Eric Mussleman, have caused a nice turnaround in Memphis..but more than likely Stan Van Gundy will get it. 6.Rookie of the Year should be Dwight howard,if he ever develop[s an offensive game...woo 7. draft bust........so far Delonte west....hurt himself by coming out early 8.biggest disappointment would be Michael "freakin" Olowakandi. 9. Biggest surprise player.. Al Harrington had been playing strongly for a bad team and putting up big numbers. 10. The shut the hell up award goes to Steve Francis,i am a magic fan and his hissy fit after they traded Cuttino Mobley was ridiculous |

first of all Kandiman has been a huge dissapointment since the day he stepped into the NBA
biggest improved team from last year :
Gonna have to go with the Supersonics
although I dont think theyll do much in the playoffs, this team is now very much more defensive oriented then in the past.
biggest disappointment, team :
Twolves
what a piece of shit team they turned out be this year,Sprewells attitude dosnt help.
best team, western conf :
Spurs, nuff said
best team, eastern conf :
Heat , nuff said
coach of the year :
I would say Eddie Jordan because of the teams improvemnt, but they never give credit to hard working coaches that keep talented teams performing well.If you look at the Heat, other than Wade, Shaq and maybe Eddie Jones, the heat arent very talented, but he has managed to make all these no names productive like Damon and Haslem giving them their roles. If he can fit ZO perfectly into the mix and make things work then without a doubt Stan Van Gundy deserves it.
rookie of the year :
I dunno yet to early, but Ben Gordon has been doing a good job.so have Okafor and Howard
oh and Im interested in the Dunk contest I dunno yet the ones thatll compete in it but it should be fun
So it's about time to start the All Star Weekend!!!
Hope to see some good plays on Sunday...
wow that was a nice slam dunk contest, Josh Smith is a bad ass
I liked how Nash made those soccer moves to assist Stoudemire, very creative dunks
Chris Andersen
J.R Smith had some good ones too.
just when people think theres nothing more to do in this contest, these guys step it up once again.
what a great way to start off the all-start weekend .. some strange reason, i enjoy the nba all-star weekends more than any other sport .. just my opinion ..
slam dunk was just spectacular .. chris andersen should have stayed home .. j.r. smith chose one bad dunk, and that killed him .. amare stoudemire is big and strong, but josh smith proved he could fly .. he actually flew in the air .. wow wow wow ... and i feel steve nash should have gotten more credit for amare's dunks than amare did for his dunking ability .. i see him more of a power dunker, not a flyer ..
the 3-point contest was depressing, but shocking as well .. quentin richardson proved that streaky shooters can win the 3-point contest .. back then, it was known that pure shooters were the only ones that could win the contest .. quentin's first 15 shots, made i think 7 of them, and out of the 8 misses, 3 were airballs .. last 2 racks, makes them all but 1. wow! .. i don't know what happened with ray allen .. maybe the denver air got to him or something ..
wasnt his night .. competition would have been better if nowitzki, stojakovic, michael redd, and reggie miller (let him do it, since he perfected and defined what the 3-point shot is today, and he is retiring after this season) ...
Wow, What a great All Stars game, Alan Iverson won the MVP, Very well deserved, Shaq and Wade were playing awesome as well, And then Vince Carter with that great dunk earlier, All in all, It was an awesome All Stars game.
HOLY SHIT!!! Did you all see Vince Carter's dunk!!?? CRAZY!!
And Josh Smith is the shit.

Dunk in reverse = nice.
Hell Yeah!!!
I knew that the East Side will win this time!!! A.I is the MVP, sounds great!!!
AI = All Star MVP and Season MVP in 2001
AI = All Star MVP and Season MVP in 2005?

At least there's one bright spot for the Sixers.

Now there's talks of Kidd getting traded to Minnesota for Sprewell. That would be a mistake.
3 point
3 point shooting sucked ... first round horrible ... and who they got to shot ... o please ... what happand to peja, damon jones .. i would have never called 2 guys from same team ...
should have been
ray allen, peja stojakovic, damon jones, queintin richardson, vashon lenard (champ) and kyle korver
and for dunk contest ... who the hell invited that white boy anderson ... man watching him was like watching me try to dunk
and amare isn't a skill type of dunker hes just a power dunker if he didn't have nash to give him some soccer style he would have been nothing ... Josh Smith was sick tho

oh .. so you wanna play ol' school huh ? .. well who's the guy that has made and attempted the most 3's in a career ? .. of course .. reggie miller .. no contest ..
but if you want to go old school, a guy who really had a good stroke, but unfortuantely could not break his college legend was anderson hunt of unlv .. some people forget what a great shooter he was, and was really was the key catalyst that helped unlv achieve whatever greatness they had with larry johnson and stacey augmon ..
but i guess my top 5 all-time, in terms of 3's, would be :
bob cousy (they say he was probably the best shooter of all time ... that i do not know, because i was not born during his time ..
)
reggie miller
dale ellis (yes him .. he was very good back in his day)
larry bird
dirk nowitzki
