*spoilage*

Yeah, it didn't climax well...err...well, you know what I mean.

I was just in a dream state towards the end of that game - riding in that metal coffin-shaped thing around the huge factory in the citadel before you're finally lifted up to the highest office....

two words come to mind:

HOLY.... SHIT.....

Absolutely GORGEOUS scenery, and the art direction for that game was just...wow. Very subtle, but appreciated nevertheless.

I thought it was a little easy as well - especially once you get the Gravity Gun modified.

Actually it turns out that stuttering and skipping is a major issue with HL2 right now. Almost everyone with all different kinds of computers are having issues with it. For me, my main issue is with CS:Source; it keeps crashing on me when it skips. It's something with the source engine...

The last level was definately easy, but I think that it makes up for it by being incredibly fun. The (you know what I'm talking about) is just a pleasure to use on combine soldiers

There was plenty of difficulty in the levels leading up to the last.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about that graphics card - it seems kinda dated considering the other specs on your PC. If you were to get a Radeon 9800, you'd definitely be in business, but as is, you might want to think about upgrading that card before you try to play HL2.

I play on a P4 3.0/512 DDR/Radeon X300 - my card is a cheaper version in the X series, but it plays HL 2 perfectly fine with everything except textures at 'high'.

Might want a second opinion though.

man i knew my card was going to be the problem how much do i have to fork in for a new "decent" card ?

Posted by Ken_Allen on Nov-24-2004 05:04:

$700 if you'd like to play just about every game available at a better quality than 98% of the people here

I play with an 128MB card. Sure, you're not going to get your high details but the game is perfectly playable at 1024x768.

ok... if someone can give me a good reason NOT to buy half life2 tomorrow.. i wount do it..

sooo.. anyone????

*hope's not*
hehe

Posted by sleepydragon on Nov-25-2004 15:09:

just finished it last night its a pretty poor ending nothing much happens and the last bit is a piece of piss.
i think its fairly obvious that there is gonna be a half life 3 the g man basically tells u that at the end telling u that hes had offers and with a few things that he says.
Its almost def that the story will be continued

[Spoilage.....*sigh*]

I am soooo looking forward to Half Life 3. I don't even really mind the cliffhanger ending so much, because they've said that it won't be 5 years between sequels this time around.

As some theories have stated, since the G-Man mentioned "how much time" will pass and how he's "really not at liberty to say" I would predict that the next installment (official sequel) will have Gordon in the very far future...which will fucking rock!

I also predict a plethora of badass expansion packs - playing as Alyx Vance will be absolutely sweet.

"Opposing Force" set you as a marine...would it be feasible to be a Combine soldier in a Half Life 2 expansion? Hmmm....

[BLATANT SPOILAGE! AVERT YE EYES OH UNENLIGHTENED!!! ]

This is just before you go down into the belly of the Citadel's Dark Reactor at the end of the game - it seems as though Dr. Breen is talking to some sort of alien lifeform on the big screen. Hmmm... it's obvious that he's having to explain himself, so perhaps this is a higher power of some sort? Maybe a larger bidder?

^^^^ behold the true face of the Combine.

There's actually several full pictures of that thing online. You see, in the Source engine, anything that is shown on a monitor like that is being "filmed" somewhere on the map in realtime. So during the final leve, if you turn on noclip you can fly around outside the map walls and find that thing, fully modeled and textured.

I'm too lazy to go find the picture but basically, it's a large slug type creature with mechanical legs/arms. It's called a Combine Advisor.
