Disclaimer: One cannot be responsible another person's lack of sensory acuity and lack of ability to recognize, differentiate and categorize.
DDTT is not a new genre, nor a new classification - it's simply a label, a name, a sound.
If there is any confusion as to what DDTT is - a suggestion would be to listen to the following tunes and recognize their similarities, the patterns that they share:
Trancesetters - Beatfreak - Kamisshakexxl Mix
Coca & Villa - La Noche - D-Formation BF's Remix
Peace Division - Do You See Me?
D-Formation - The Third Dimension
David Lara - Seduction - Julian Poker Remix
LocoDice - Phat Dope Shit - Saeed's Dope Shit Mix
Patrocinio Beltran - Too Far - Original Mix
Armand Pena - Watching Me - Original Mix
Solo & Logan - Swallowed Up - Original Mix
Inflator - Submission
Skylark presents Buick Project - Drop The Beat - Original Mix
RPO - Dancefloor
Peace Division - Take Me I'm Yours
Kytracid put his interpretation of DDTT very eloquently:
DDTT is just another label for ... NYC House / NYC Dark House. The only difference [main difference] is that nowadays there's more fusion between genres ... you get house tracks that incorporate the tribally aspects with the drums and have that techno inspired punchy sound.
... sleazy, chunky beats ... an extension of the NYC sound now played with a Toronto flava which is more upbeat and tech-ier.

i think i like the new "term/description"....totally makes more sense than comparing it to a city
Not really DDTT, but still an awesome tune.
