Tiesto and the docks go well together. I'm not gonna bother seeing him at guv again. He was so into it this time around and looked like he was having fun. Very impressed with the track selection and delivery, no obvious trainwrecks. All the classics brought back so many good memories.
I guess that's what makes Tiesto #1 for many ppl. He blends the new and old together into one very enjoyable package.
The docks was packed and friggin hot in some places but that was to be expected. As many ppl have pointed out the coatcheck was just a disaster, very disappointed with that. I wish the DJ booth was setup on the stage for this event so it would be easier to get a better look at Tiesto. Those displays had some cool visuals but got a bit annoying after a while when all you wanna see is Tiesto doing his thing.
I had fun hanging out in our TA zone. Everyone was having a great time from what I saw especially our TA energizer bunny, Cuzo.
I'm so glad I made the last minute decision to attend and thank you Swilly for setting me up with a ticket!!
It was nice meeting DancingQueen169 and VERTiG0 for the first time and also hanging out with the familiars. An awesome night from start to finish, 9/10 from me.
Here are my pics: LINK
Wow...now I really can see what the hype was all about.
After much searching for a ticket only 2 days before the event, managed to find one for regular price, which was lucky to say the least.
So me and Dj Robben got to the docks at around 1230. No problem with the ids, just checked to make sure they were “legit”
and we walked on in. I swear, the timing on the night couldn’t have been any better. Just as we get into the mainroom we hear “Here he is….TIESTO!!” and the crowd erupts. Perfect timing
Now this man, can he EVER read a crowd. For the 5 and something hours that I was there for, he kept me energized. Every time that I felt my energy leave me, tiesto would drop a BOMB that just kept me pumping all night long. I wish I could’ve stayed for the whole set, but by 5:30 it had already been a 23 hour day with work slotted in there as well. It was, however, an incredible feeling leaving a great night to the sounds of tiesto playing in the background. Awesome night. Thanks Rob for the drink! Nice to see some of the TA’s that I partied with at wemf. I saw Az comment on my buddy’s Netherlands jersey, lol, but missed RJ, Nat and the rest
Well worth all the money spent. Well worth it. Not bad for my first 19+ party
What was that sunset on ibiza-sounding track that he played? It had a very very similar melody.
Or that track that had a huge beat, and during the breakdown the tempo slowed way down [like he was stopping the turntable, and the strobe-lights were going very very retarded] then snapped back up..

His programming + stuff from his new alubm is definately not my thing, Armin , PVD and sometimes Ferry do it a lot better for me. He is oficially no longer among my fav. djs. Don't get me wrong, he did play a good set, and it seemed that many people liked it, but it's nowhere near those shows that Armin pulled off on last Thanksgiving, PVD exactly a year before Armin and Tiesto himself in the Docks in June 2003. Highlights of the night : coatcheck madness, Find (Andy Moor mix), crowd singing "Love Comes Again", lights, some hot chick hitting on my gf and asking us whether we want to have an orgy with her and her bf (she was really fucked i think ), Yahel - Voyage. Highlights are listed in chronological order ![]() EDIT: Why can't we have parties like that with Armin, PVD, Fery etc. I am pretty sure if the prices are a bit lower as many people would show up. |
"sorry dude, i tried making the situation better by telling you she was going for your ass"

| Originally posted by richard raiban question: ok, so here is my question. why is it you guys think that tiesto's set was AMAZING? from what ive read it seems as though he played tracks that EVERYONE knew. was it the best becuase he played nothing but BIG ANTHEMS? wouldn't you guys love to see tiesto in a smaller venue (more intimate) playing fresh underground music (that you are unaware of)? i think something like this would really allow him to be A LOT more creative than he is when he spins BIG EVENTS. those are my thoughts... GOODNIGHT p.s. im glad that all of you enjoyed yourselves to the fullest! at the end of the day thats all that matters... |

I just love how people bitch every time Tiesto comes to TO but yet their the first ones to get their tickets. Anyone who listens to Tiesto's live sets or mix cd knows what their going to hear when they see him so why be so suprised when you hear tunes that you know. I think it's simple, if you don't like him don't show up!
peace

Some pics for you guys.

whitey:
i think its also funny how you assume stuff about someone you dont know past an avatar image.
and whats also funny, is that you seem to think that DJs should get praised for playing tracks that haven outplayed by AT LEAST a year.
Give it a rest guy, some tracks should not have been played AT ALL. You know it, i know it, even Tijs knows it.
His stuff from like, ISOS3 and back was OMFG. Today its just a mix of old and done to death with new GOOD stuff.
Im not bitching that hes bad, but id expect MORE when i payed 50 bucks. (although i knew he was gonna play his own stuff, but thats not the reason why i went, my friends would have cut my fucken balls off if i didnt go, cuz i introduced ALL of them to trance)
[NFC]Wave:
if i were to get a CD signed by Tijs, it'd be Magik One. Not his commercial stuff.

| What blew my mind completely was this song I heard from the Tiesto Gelredome Arnhem 10-30-2004. Someone PLEAZE help me find the name of this song. The lyrics go like this: "How did I let you go…(voice echo and fades out) when I Lost you …in the darkness of a lonely night…and I found you in my arms and holding me so tight….when I’m with you and I kiss you, I can feel your heart……don’t you know that I’m the one to keep you safe and warm……. Chorus: Never ... let you go" that song that u r so craving for.... is.... drum rolls.... Interstate - Found You heh...enjoy! |

Oh yah, and anyone calling me a tiesto hater: STFU in advance.
I dont hate the guy, never did, hes the second DJ that i fell in love with (Sasha came first, hence why i was mind blown when Sean Miller played Xpander....imo, the greatest trance production, OF ALL TIME.)
Dont gimme "real tijs fans will always love him"
BULLSHIT.
Real fans give constructive criticism for their idols to improve.
I still love the guy, ive got some live sets theyre amazing, top notch, but im NOT liking his current productions.
As a DJ, yeh mon, he kicks ass still in my top 6 favs (Oakenfold will always be my #1
, the rest i just dont know, theyre equally good i suppose?)
i had a great time...tiesto kicked ass and made up for his guv set...
nice seeing all the t.a.'s out and nice to meet the girls from windsor....
payed a bartender $10 to stash our coats behind the bar......best $10 i spent all night
hit boa after for some housey goodness....
good night!
BTW...did anyone check out Armins set from NYC last night????Look at the tracklist....anthem after anthem
