GAhhhhh, why why why why ?
I Don't like Armin at all, why do so many people like him ?
Its one of those strange phenomenam, like why Tiesto miraculously gets votes even tho everyone hates him ...
I mean I like sasha, would've loved to see him when he was promoting Air Drawn Dagger but ... unforuntately didn't get a chance ...
I heard he ain't the greatest tho, people you can't specifically say 1 Dj is the best, its all about opinion, thats what makes music so great, everyone has a different opinion, a different feel, everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

Just if there opinion differs from mine i guess it's wrong

People complain that Sasha's sets are boring, but most of them are Tiesto fans if that tells you anything.

Posted by sthus on Apr-28-2005 07:00:

nah, i don't know, i haven't heard any of sasha's sets ... i'm a bit behind like that, i just turned 18 like a week or so ago and yeah, well i haven't had a chance to see any big names yet, however, i'm gonna start goin out heaps more now and ... we're goin travellin in 3 yrs, when we are 21 ... its gonna go off !!!

Well, I love my Armin, though I will be the first to admit that his latest productions have been a little bit cheesy and too filled with vocals for my personal liking. So, I'll tell you what to and what not to check out by Armin in my opinion...

DO check out:

Communication I,II,III
Blue Fear
Birth of an Angel
Serenity (though it's not out yet and kinda sounds like Adagio)
Rapture

DON'T check out:

Burned With Desire (ewwww, I can't even call that trance)
Shivers (except for the tribal remix because adding vocals to Birth of an Angel was unnecassary, but the tribal mix is experimental)
Sound Of Goodbye (sometimes the sound of goodbye is louder than any drum beat? Aha... gay.)

As for Sasha... well. Airdrawndagger is really hard to get into. It requires some serious work on the listeners behalf to "get it" though once you do that album is magical. Either way, "Involver" was better for me still and didn't require near as much work to get into. It's just plain mint. Also, just check out most of the other Global Underground compilations and you'll adore Sasha soon enough.

If you're interested in hearing stuff from Armin, go pick up Boundaries of Imagination. It's some of his older work, but it's better than anything he's released lately.

Posted by sthus on Apr-29-2005 00:21:

Yeah, Will do, thanks for all the feedback on Armin ...
I hope i'm not let down ...
Yeah, i don't think i've got too much of Sasha's stuff at home, maybe a couple global undergrounds ...
whatever happened to renaissance, when i first ehard it, it was soooo promising and then it became crap ...

Posted by Nayil on Apr-29-2005 00:34:

check out ASOT 185

Posted by Krysta_101 on Apr-29-2005 01:55:

Armin's winning now

ASOT 182 was better than 185 imo. Though I guess the tracklisting was pretty obvious, the way he mixed those tracks together was just flawless. And he delivered as the name promised, 2004 year mix. The most popular (and I would even deem best) tracks of 2004.

Posted by Salem on Apr-29-2005 02:03:

Marco V.....in my books.

Posted by sthus on Apr-29-2005 08:50:

oh yeah, what the hell is ASOT ?
I must've missed something somewhere ...
i'm crappy with acronyms, this one time in english ...

A State of Trance. Armin's weekly Thursday radio show, 2 hour set that's been going strong since 2001.

If you're talking about "The Mix" which was done along with Digweed, that album is 10 years old. They just remastered it and released it again on the anniversary. It was a breakthrough album when it was originally released. It's amazing some of the tracks still sound good to this day. Some of them are crap, but overall "The Mix" is one of the greatest albums of all time.

I have heard tiesto, deep dish, AVB, Corsten, Sasha, Gabriel and Dresden, DAve Seaman, Nick Warren, James Holden,
all in the last 6 months and by far my fav was Tiesto - 8+ hours of trance goodness at a venue in which I could bust it out!!

Corsten was a close 2nd - waiting for PVD though - it has been a while

Tough poll. Their all great. I would vote for Tiesto, Deep Dish, Ferry Corsten, and Mauro Picotto, but I only get one so: Ferry Corsten!

Posted by Ted Promo on Jun-17-2005 06:01:

Ferry effin' Corsten.

Just saw him live last night, simply put, amazing!

Posted by yaman on Jun-17-2005 09:40:

Armin van Buuren

becous his amazing mix act

and becous 4 years of radio trance show

Posted by tactik on Jun-20-2005 18:16:

Out of these, Sasha. Nick Warren is my favorite after totally blowing my mind last week, he was simply awesome!

Posted by JenniferRene on Jun-20-2005 22:08:

Although ATB is an old favorite and classic...

GABRIEL & DRESDEN

Posted by harriz on Jun-23-2005 04:49:

process of illumination after carfully comparing the dj of the world you came up with a top 15 and atb made it??? ''imm in loooove wiith the dddj"...yiiiaaaaak!

if i really had to choose the best (no such thing) dj from your missmatch here...
carl cox technicly the best he has the skill of the rest put together.
sasha & digg have the programing skills anytbody should at least respect

and deep dish & gabriel and dresden production wise...

oakey has the ambition of the rest put together

the guy is scary ,he probobly has done awful things to get sssooo far
like killing people ,stepping over corpses , selling drugs ,starving to death, not sleeping, making conection swith gangster promoters ,bribbing cops, working 24h a day ,promoting ,promoting and promoting
even if he is not worth the hype ''sitting there playing big stuff ,cant really mix ,waving he's hands in the air''
people ,
if somebody is that hardworking he will eventually gain recognition
what do you mean he sold out?
that was the plan originaly !

listen...

HE BROUGHT DANCE MUSIC TO THE MASSES AND THAT IS INBELIEVABLE.
Is that a good thing?
depends on how you look at it.

where the f##K is lee burridge ,laurent garnier, ltj bukem,
how about danny tenaglia ,derick may ,marshall jeferson?
dj hell ,josh wink dj sneak ,adam freeland can rock a party !!
tiesto needs to be shoot in the head.

armin van buuren well okay ..I guess if you like the style of music he is playing
he and paul van dyk deserve some respect.
fatboy ,fatboy sssslim is ssstill up there with a sence of humor

but again the best djs are too busy djing and less busy worrying about me knowing about them

Out of the top ''aclass'' ones PLASTIKMAN is the best technicly and nobody
can stand a comparison next to him.
if you dont know him you should.
REALLY.
I MEAN IT.
Its the closest human race has to protools
He and Kasparov can beat the computer.
