Hmmmmm...I wonder if I have that channel...damn basic cable!

I doubt it will be an entertaining game mate, its a matter of patriotism, I have my money on a 1-1 draw.

Youll probably have Italy-Scotland on TLN and France-Switzerland is on tv5 at 15:00 you get that channel with basic cable, its channel 66 around here.

Bah. Canadian men's team have been getting the shaft lately and I wouldn't be surprised if the men's team go down hill from here on. I certainly would be very discouraged. Last few yrs the Canadian men's team is IMO the best ever and should have made further into qualifiers. Damn incompetent and biased Central American refs.

You brought a good point but the incompetence of CONCACAF refs has been an insuperable nemesis for the nats for years. Canada has missed the greatest football rendez-vous time and again because of scandalous robberies, which have always put the Central Americans squads at an advantage. Its hard enough to perform in hostile environments throughout the Caribbean but when you add to the equation the entire repertoire of criminal calls that have gone against Canada in WC qualifying you have to ask yourself if its worth playing at all? Without mentioning the flagrant robbery in this years qualifiers my favorite one would have to be the cancellation of Peschisolidos goal at Varsity Stadium vs Mexico in 94 in the last game of qualifiers, Canada wouldve attended the world cup in 94 at the expense of Mexico but you know how that story finished. Its a shame really as a more extensive exposure of the Canadian national team would have a vastly positive impact on football in this country. Theres a slew of talent coming through the youth ranks and EvilTree, Id wholeheartedly agree with you that the team deserved to proceed further in the qualifying, but now I think Yallop can give a chance to several youngsters wholl be anchors of this squad in the future. I think Peters has made a brilliant career move by snubbing Chelsea and opting for Ipswich, thats one player I look forward to see more of.
There will be a solid gathering of Ca. fans in a Portuguese bar on College, if anyone is interested to watch this game.

Actually, I'd put Jason de Vos disallowed goal because of a foul on some Honduras player as most piss up call on Canadians ever. The Honduras player 'limps' off the pitch because it looked like a Canadian player hit him with his legs (which he didn't), then returns a min later when the play resumes and he looks fine. Stalteri was so incensed (and I don't blame him) and gets yellow carded, therefore missing next game. Honduras later scores on a dubious penalty and moves on, crushing Canada's hope of qualifying for WC 2006.
I was furious for next couple of days.

^^^ i was extremely about this when news broke of it as well .. given the fact that i plan on being in Europe in 2006 for WC , missing the opporunity to cheer on and represent your country there from something like this was simply criminal ..

Damn, it's gonna be another week away before the Champions League resumes again but this is how it's gonna go down

Quarter Finals - First Leg
05/04/2005

Liverpool vs Juventus
Lyon vs PSV

06/04/2005

Chelsea vs Bayern
AC Milan vs Inter

Posted by house_conXion on Mar-29-2005 19:37:

AC Milan vs Inter is gonna be a crazy series. They are pretty much the top two teams in Serie A and have always had a long standing rivalry. It's gonna be a game of offence and Kaka' squaring off against Adriano. This is gonna be definitely a must watch game.

I also like the Liverpool vs Juventus series, as Juventus is my team I hope they'll be able to match up against Liverpool's defence.

adriano is injured and will miss the first game and most likely be on the bench for the second leg ... its a shame since inters the team i want to lift the trophy now that Man U and madrid are out..

and liverpools defence??? they have given away 31 goals in 30 games in the epl this season so i dont think the defence is what juventus need to worry about rather they need to take a u turn on their game and start playing some attacking football... their style of football at times is so boring that the defence just needs to kick the ball into the juventus half and then can go of the field to sit down and have a cup of tea for a few minutes while juve keep soaking up the pressure and look for an opening to score that solitary goal they are so accustomed to winning by
