whenever i get excited about a song i've discovered (or a song that was sent to me, i should say...i rarely discover songs! haha) i'm always so excited to share it, i just start sending it to whoever whill accept it because i want to see if they love it as much as i do. i know this sounds cheesy and cliche' but i really am all about the music. i just want everyone to love it and appreciate it the same way i do.

I love you Slylee.

i mean...its not like i agree with you and i don't like to share tunes. i share with people i am friends with or who ask me about stuff...if Erik (NiteMer) came to me and was like oh shit that song was badass what is it...i'm gonna tell him...

now lets turn the tables a little...

what if i started a thread where i was like..."post some great marketing ideas". are you gonna start divulging every idea that you hold because someone you don't know is looking for ideas? no...of course not. that's all i'm saying. you might tell your idea to some of the people that are close to you...but you aren't just gonna start blabbing it all over for everyone. i just see finding good tunes the same way because i feel i have a vested interest in it...

maybe i am lost, but sharing marketing IDEAS isn't the same as sharing info that's already out there in the world.

i thought we were just talking about how people can be stingy about rare records/tunes/info they grab off the net or whatever...

i don't even want to really argue about this anymore because i think we just have different viewpoints towards music. my analogy was that you work hard to come up with or discover an idea...whereas maybe i work hard to discover or make a tune...maybe its a bad one, but i'm just saying that you interests in music are different then mine...

who you are is what you listen to, so if your music collection becomes the same as mine, you become me and I must kill you because there can only be one me in this dimension.

It does sound cheesy, but that's how I am too. That's why I spend money making promo cds to give out and share with others. Most of the discs I give out now aren't the reason I get booked for any gigs, but I won't stop making them and giving them out.

And, Jason, I hear ya, but along the lines of telling me tracks, you should bring your recs over one day and let me listen to them. Maybe rock some out for you.

I don't give out the tracklistings for a couple of reasons.

1) I'm too lazy to write them out
2) With cds I don't want to pay to print it
3) Last and most importantly, I smoke to much of the old memory defunker and can't remember the names of all the tracks. Hell, most of my tracks I know by looking at them, but, in many cases, I can't remember the names.
