the bottomline is, people who mourn are those who had a connection with the person who passed away. if maxtuh's parents or cyrus kings god DJ tiesto passed away i wouldnt GIVE A SHIT because they had no impact on my life HOWEVER, out of RESPECT to their feelings, i would just avoid the thread all together (assuming there was one). if i did have questions i would inquire in a respectful way. why? because others ARE affected by this and you/we have to take that into consideration & respect that....YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THAT. there is a right way of doing things and clearly both members i mentioned above approached this the wrong way...

just my thoughts,

goodnight!

Im still not convinced why there is such a "loss". What was so great about the man? He was appointed by an ecclesiastical institution to lead billions in a religious faith.

Why are you all sad?

I want to know. Ive tried doing research on his "achievements", but cant find what hes done that has made so many so sad.

I think what it comes down to is that many christians just have to feel sad becuase he leads their religion. If you are not.. then you are going to hell

Well unless you've been living under a rock all this time then you'd know how he was one of the reasons communism collapsed in Europe...He also was respected by ALL religions because he respected THEM and was not judgemental...Alot of young people we're SO moved by the Pope because he loved them very much...He may have been respected more as well because he didn't waiver from the Catholic doctrine like abortion, female priests & other "touchy" issues.

First Ronald reagan crushes communism.... now its the Pope? lol

This is a joke.

I think this thread has answered my original thoughts about this man's "achievements"

with all respect, it's fine and noble to pay respects to JPII, but wouldn't it be better if at least you could also follow his teachings? if he forgived his assassinator, couldn't you forgive maxtuh or anyone else who insults JPII? JPII was a role model for Catholics and for many non-Catholics alike, there's always a message behind one's act, he wanted to spread love, forgiveness and tolerance towards ignorance and fault.i think the best repsect for him is to understand his message and try to imitate his ways. wouldn't hurt to forgive a person's ignorance would it?
maybe i'm wrong.
just my 2 pennies.

I was at work yesterday when it happened.

I was doing an HD digital box demo at the time, I turned it to HD-Fox cuz it was supposed to be NASCAR in HD. They were running coverage of the Pope's death, which had happened 5 minutes before I turned the channel over. . I'm not catholic, in fact I'm not really anything in terms of faith, but a weird feeling of anxiety came over me when I realized what had happened.

I know in your tiny little mind only one person could possibly be rsponsible for the collapse of communism, but you might be surprised to learn different...just try it...go learn something.

wow your life must be really simple with that kind of thinking; ignorance is bliss right ?

Posted by StereoPrincess on Apr-04-2005 13:17:

this thread was meant for the mourning of John Paul II.

why wouldn't the people that don't want to mourn him post here?

why not start another thread, where you can all gather together and bash him?

and that way the people that truly care can have their own thread which could have turned into something nice.

i'll even answer for all you halfwits. it's because you like insitigating and making people upset on purpose to entertain yourselves.

if you think we are all stupid for caring then let us be. why push your own agenda on others at this time. don't you fucking get it? WE ARE TRULY MOURNING THE POPE. if you don't like it, just don't say anything. are you jealous that no one is going to care when you die?

the sad thing is that it's more than that. i think they are upset that they have nobody to look up to. nobody to care about. therefore, they feel the need to try to show us how stupid it is that we care so much.

well keep trying, keep putting someone down right after their death. that's pure class.

RIP John Paul, I hope your successor will be as beloved as you were.

Posted by starsearcher on Apr-04-2005 15:49:

I don't really understand what is this whole anti-communism discussion that is going on surrounding the pope. The church has always been against communism primarily because under communism there is no religion and obviously no church. According to the original ideas of communism religion keeps people stupid (there's more to it of course but that's the basic idea). The church and pope were also supporters of Mousolini (sp) in Italy because he was so against communism. So obviously the church has always been against communism.

Anway enough about that. He really was a good man and someone to look up to. Like many said I hope that his successor will follow his ways and continue on the positive track towards the future. RIP JPII

Pope John Paul II

Rest In Peace dear Karol Jozef Wojtyla.

May the world still be surrounded by peace and understanding.

Peace

this post has digressed so much..this thread is officially an embarrassment.

If you have not ever felt the presence and power of the pope, than no amount of goggle searches for his achievements will enlighten you.

To all that wish to ruin this already somber moment, give up. You will lose. Too many people care too much. And the best thing is they aren't even all Catholic.

A true testament to his greatness.

You can't call on the mods to edit posts whenever you don't agree with what someone else has posted.

Either way, it's better that ppl read it, because some of the idiocy spewed in here really makes you wonder about some people.
