fiancee might be coming to T.O. to meet her relatives that are flying in that weekend...they want to see T.O. not Montreal
But they're from France so they see that European shite everyday LOL!!!| quote: |

o one more thing...guys...(not taking it seriously at all but just for your benefit b/c she is SUPER cool and a good friend to have IMHO):
don't diss on iLLnaDa...even if she wages war on you...do me a favour and take it up the ass...(i hope she doesn't read this or she'll get pissed off at me and tell me that she can fight her own battles---if you do read this I totally know I'm just saving these MOTAs the trouble of finding out later how much they'd like you)...
she is an ikhtee and an ikhtuk (partly arab) and REALLY f'n cool...we work for the same company (diff locations) and she's fairly new around so still in that "don't diss TO mode" so do me a fave and don't be too insulting...I'm sure you guys will eventually meet her and regret you said any bad stuff (haven't actually met her yet--don't know why)...
oh well gotta try...
yo akhee Fahad you're more than welcome, i hope you'll make it for the 30th so we can all smoke and eat
Epi what do you think ?
fayraree and fast: both of you are in left field when it comes to shawerma/shish taouk. Basha has NOTHING on Amir, in any and every aspect. From the perspective of taste, how can you even compare Amir's shish Taouk to Basha's? One is so juicy and full of flavour, while the other is decrepid and old. Same goes for the meat shawerma, except that the difference here is magnified ten-fold. I've never NOT cursed myself after having a Basha shawerma for not remembering how dry and tasteless it is. From the perspective of cleanliness, my friend used to work at the Sports Expert Basha, and resigned within a month because of what he considered MAJOR hygiene problems with that place. Granted, this was five years ago, and I think they have new management now, but the thought of eating tasteless decrepid old and moreover dirty polluted shawerma has haunted me ever since.
fayraree: you better get your ass to Montreal and tell your fiancee she can pown you next week. DJ Dan is playing, we're having the shisha gathering and I'm in town. Tell her relatives to suck it
As for iLLnaDa, I respect the fact that you're up and about defending your friends. Loyalty is a great trait. However, I must say that there's nothing I hate more than people speaking ebonics, especially on an EDM site. I'm sure I speak for more than just myself when I say that, but moreover and from a personal persepective, one of the major reasons I can't stand the hip-hop scene is that entire thug/diva attitude coupled with the perversion of the English language that somehow is now considered "cool" for whatever reason by people that have no business speaking that way. Anyway, I'm sure she's a great person in real life, and I know she's half-Lebanese, so I'll cut her some slack, but I guarantee you others here won't if she continues to project, purposefully or not, that image.
fast: fayraree is in and we've already communicated that much both publicly and through PM. So yeah, he's more than welcome anytime
as i said i'm not qualified to tell which shawarma is the best, it's like if you guys consider yourselves couscous experts when actually none of you ate REAL couscous in morocco at someone's place and not in a restaurant or fast food

| Originally posted by fayraree Actually, come to think of it, the last time I went to Basha (about 3-4 years ago) I also remember the meat being quite dry...still I have to try out fast's other Basha location...with food, I'm ALWAYS game!! LOL! Can't tell you how excited I am about meeting y'all...Epic can you AT LEAST give me an alternative date in May? JUST IN CASE? There will ALWAYS be good times Inshallah, even if this one doesn't work out for me...and besides I don't even know who DJ Dan is!!! +1 with the caveat that my friends can do whatever the hell they want!! LOL!! So I don't mind it when I know the person doesn't really have the attitude and when she's actually making FUN of ebonics (and actually, I don't consider the Jamaican style ebonics...) |
As for other dates, I'll be in Montreal for Swirl (May 22nd) and almost certainly for June 10-11th (Grand Prix weekend). But try to make it for this one.

| Originally posted by Epicurus As for iLLnaDa, the problem is you know her and we don't, so we base our judgements based on what she's displayed so far. Granted, we shouldn't be so quick to judge, but obviously "speaking" in ebonics/Jamaican style or what have you illicits a visceral reaction in most of us for the aformentioned reasons, so we're blameless as usual |

Dudes...Apr. 30 is looking worse and worse (just spoke to the boss-of-me today
) But all is not lost...I think I may be coming for the better event: SWIRL!!!! The more I think of it, the more a rave at the Olympic Stadium sounds awesome...not confirmed yet. Will have to check out the other thread and buy tickets, sell my Danny T tickets, etc.
Could we organize a follow-up to the dinner/shisha event the night before Swirl? How about sometime after May 7 (as one of your other guys will be returning after that date)...Epic, will you be in Montreal anytime between May 7-22?
Ciao,
Fahad
EDIT:
FACK!!! $67 EACH?!?!?! I think I'd rather enjoy some house and stick around with my $35 Danny T tix rather than hafta buy TWO tickets for my fiancee and me...please Epic tell me you're in town for Global Shisha Gathering II (hopefully the weekend of May 7 or 14?)...otherwise dude...we're YOUNG!!! Got lotsa time to meet!! (Inshallah
)
Dood Illnada is a cool chick that is making fun of ebonics...she doesn't talk like that in real life (yes, I have met her) and she doesn't type like that either, as I have seen her respond to many posts on this forum as well as on Tiesto.
I think she can fight her own battles, but ya know I think everyone should know that she is making fun and prolly won't type like that forever unless she knows it pushes your buttons LOL
