I think some people take trance music a little too seriously...

And my point is that where he wows crowds is by his signature tracks, like Traffic. When Oakey or someone else plays Traffic it's cloning and lame, but when Tijs drops it, it's awesome.

first of all Traffic is the most horrible tune in the world.
second even if the Pope himself dropped Traffic in a set it wouldnt be cool.
third Tiesto's DJ skills are pure SHAIT (see TIC2 etc)

PERIOD!

Obviously you have not heard it live.

Thank you, Its supposed to be dance music. As long as I'm grooving I don't care who is behind the decks. Although, I do have my favorites.

BTW, Tiesto at space during this past WMC, one of the best parties I have ever been to, PERIOD. You could not pry me off the dance floor.

Give me a break.

Reminds me of the Tiesto thread in the Canada section that was announcing him coming here. The argument and how it ends is classic though.

It seams that stating an opinion usualy leads to a lot of bashing against you and poor arguments against you that you must have just not heard "insert set here" or "insert remix here" therefore you must just be ignorant. It turns from you bashing to them forcing their opinions down your throat and attempting to justify why Tiesto is good and you're wrong. They especialy love to throw in words like insecurity, ignorance, popularity and bandwagon.

go sit in the corner until you turn 16, maybe then you will do something besides bash.

btw I read that Chicago Tiesto review and it doesn't seem like the horrible show that it was made out to be, the worst thing I could find someone say was they were "a little unimpressed".

It goes both ways. You have a thread about Tiesto and invariably the trolls show up and tell eveyone how "Tiestor, Tiesticles..." etc. sucks and that only n00bs listen to him and when you grow up you'll realise how shit he is. Prevalent topics in the Tiesto bash are making numerous references to money, the Disney land thing, him not making any of his own music, and the king of them all.... train wrecks. If you try to say he's good then you're asked to offer up tracklists and stuff that he's done that makes him the best. If you do it gets dimissed instantly b/c you're an EDM n00b (obviously, b/c you still listen to Tiesto) and you wouldn't know a good set/song/transistion/DJ if it smacked you in the face.

Agreed....that Tiesto forum is such a friggen joke....

It WAS good years ago when it was that purple and black style forum...but since the move and all the kiddies joining it has become the biggest joke ever.

Those kids there would still love Tiesto if he threw a bag of shit in their face and called them n00bs.

I cant stand that forum.

Those kids on tiesto forum are no more openminded than kids on Eminems forum....they are blinded and SWEAR Tiesto was a god sent...half those kids would argue that Tiesto produced Superstring and The Orange Theme....

they REALLY bother me over there.

Valid point but they rarely take the time to differenciate. If your comment is negative you're simply thrown into a category where they all gang up on you regardless of whether or not your comment was said politely or not.

All of a sudden you know nothing of EDM and must have just not heard that one set he played or that new track he has, as if you were born yesterday. Some of the fans I hate the most are Tiesto fans, not all, but most. Love him, great, I'm happy you have a DJ you enjoy but if A)you love him just because everyone else does or B)you want to shove your opinion down someones throat then I'm just going to rest my nuts on your chin.

The people getting their opinions shoved down their throat are the tiesto fans

Yea, I'm not a fan of the blind followers of Tiesto, you know the "OMFG TIEST0RZ!!!!!! OMG!!!1111!!!11oneone!!!!! I DIE111!!!1!!21@@@!! TESTORZ=TRANCE!!!*!*@*!!!!one@#@@!" I think people just need to moderate their opinions and have a bit more respect on here. So what if some guy in England thinks Tiesto is shit. Does that have any immediate effect on your life??

It depends. In one case a bandwagon hater or an elitest with something prove might try to shove an opinion down a fans throat just to watch him squirm or to attempt to sound knowledgable.

In that case I can see a warranted all out assault on him but check out how most innocent comments are taken and even just plain honest opinions. Sometimes people take you for an elitest but even when you remain civil it usualy turns to people trying to discredit your opinion.

Check out the thread I posted to see what I mean. A comment which wasn't anything horrible turns into an assault on personal traits and words being put in my mouth I never said.

I think people need to realize that someone having a bad opinion of an artist isn't a personal attack. I see it all the time especially in the Tiesto threads, someone comes on and says something negative but not over the line and then you have people calling them out on their opinion. Not asking them why they feel that way or anything of that nature, just flaming them with "well, you haven't heard this, or that,", or "OMFG you're a moron you don't know shit about music." People just need to chill out on here. I used to be exactly like that. I'd get all wound up if someone had bad things to say about something I liked. Now I've come to realize that it's a waste of time to sit on here and yell at people about their opinions. If they like it then good for them, if they don't, then IMO they're missing out but still good for them. As for the trolls, well they're just some hilarious entertainment.

I think it's funny how Tiesto is such a topic that the debate has become a debate about the debate.
