This guy was spinning at the entrance to my house when I was coming back from The Docks this morning. No kidding!

But he got tired quickly! Seems like he wasn't prepared for a 6 hours set

Tiesto was UNBELIEVABLE.
Racoon was hilarious!

Great Night!
Good Morning!

Wow I'm still fucked up right now...

First time a J ever hit me so hard...NADA AND ALI I AM *OFFICIALLY* CUT OFF!!! Seriously, you and CAM, please never offer me that ish again...I was sober all of Tijs and at 9 am I had to take the biggest effin hit EVAR...I had to eat fucking Happy Meal and drink a few gallons of water and sleep for 4 hours before I was safe to drive again...HOLY FAWK!!!!

Just got home and about to shower and head for MTL...I hafta make a list of people here before I forget them all...actually I met SO MANY EFFIN TAs that I'm not going to do that; only the new ones:
First of all, MORAL HAZARD, WTF WERE YOU?!?! I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO MEET!! and the same goes for ADRENALINA, WHERE THE F WERE YOU?! I really wanted to meet you tonight!!!!
TrickDadde, awesome to meet you!
Durafei, you RAWK!
Starsearcher, so awesome to finally meet you d00d so cool talking with you on the patio and seeing you on the floor
Karim, we had a proper meeting this time!
YANKEEBABY the weekend ain't ova yet!
Partegurl OMGURSOHOT!
Halo20 you remind me of Beckham!
Irishaddict, we had a good time front and left, didn't we?

I'm searching for memories and faces now; any of you TAs that I met for the first time, shout out! I want to remember the moment; this night was filed with them and I have to say the moments with the TAs was more exciting for me than the music itself because although there was definitely some old, hard stuff, I was hoping for a set with more songs from December, oh well I guess a n00b like me should realize that a DJ probably changes most of his/her tracks from the ones he/she played 6 months ago!

Awright peeps, peace out...no posts from me until tomorrow I guess, when I return from MTL.

P.S. Tiesto was better in December Very disappointed with the abrubt exit; didn't even notice he was gone. Also disappointed the Ridgewalkers - Find and Southern Sun weren't played...but we sure made up at the beach, didn't we boys and girl (thx to Tiesto Live on Tranceairwaves 5-14-04)

Big Ears

one word: AMAZING!

ok so lets get it goin now
first off, Docks is officially the best fucking club in Canada, anyone wanna go against that, then thats ur problem

second, i spent the whole night on the top vip section, WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW its sooooooooo facking chilling up there, they had BEDS, bean bags!!!! and an outdoor tables and chairs to relax and look at the toronto view, simply WOW! im speechless, ive never been more chilled in a club ever in my experience...
and the amazing thing is, at first u needed a white ribbon on your wrist to go up there, but later they let everyone in, so i got all ma buddies up , spent whole night there, the washroom upstairs too was amazing

now a couple negatives:
#1. was tooo hot on the dance floor the closer you got to tiesto, like a frikin oven over there,

then #2. the volume was too quiet!!!!!!! i have a ringing in my ear from all the people talking in the club, not the music, bad sign!
and on the top floor, the volume you could barely hear which was bullox, but whatever, overall a great night

Cheers to Tiesto!

PS: how can i forget the tunes! Suburbain train!!!!!!!!!!! OMG IDIE, and LA NOCHE WAS AMAZINGGGGGG, o and *cough* spam *cough* Electric Pulse - White Noise rocked

Posted by 4-play on Jul-01-2005 18:55:

a very very good night....Tiesto fucking tore the place up (and that is coming from me!!!).

highlight of the night: Solid Globe - North Pole (could not believe i heard it)

crowd - other than the TA's, the rest sucked dick!!! Bunch of morons and people who could not handle thier intoxicants

Extremely packed! (i expected it to be packed...but not this packed)

women - HOT!!!! That is all i have to say!

good meeting a lot of you...until next time.

Need sleep!

PS: did i mention the place was fucking packed!!!

Not going to comment too much on the music... it was Tiesto - never seen him before, so I figured I should at least once check out what all the hype is about. Pretty much exactly what I expected music-wise. As for the rest...

The sound was fucking awful. Unless you were right in front of one of the main speaker stacks on the main floor, it wasn't nearly loud enough. And as others have mentioned, there was no midrange. I should not be able to talk to my wife without shouting, or hear random ambient noise from the crowd around me with a system like that in place. Why the fuck didn't they turn it up? The place is fucking huge - it would be an amazing venue if it was just louder at the back. Everything else about the place is great.

The crowd was brutal. I've never been pushed, bumped and shoved so much. The number of guys who just grab their girlfriend's wrist and shove past everyone, spilling people's drinks left right and center was ridiculous. Don't even get me started on the middle-aged coked-up asian women! Even when standing closer to the back, where there was room for a 5-foot radius around me, people still managed to bump into me every few seconds. One guy actually said sorry and I wanted to hug him because he was the only one all night! I saw Oakenfold at Space in Miami last year and it was just as crowded, but nobody was as rude or just plain stupid as last night.

The amount of idol worship witnessed last night was bloody disturbing. I was reminded of old footage of the beatles, except instead of screaming teenage girls, it was groups of 20-something year-old guys wearing all the latest designer fashions chanting "TI-ES-TO" randomly throughout the night. Come on people, he's a guy playing records. He's not a god. This is partly why electronic music has lost its way. Worship the music, not the man.

You said exactly what I was thinking

for those of you complaining about the sound quality....

...maybe if you didnt go clubbing/raving every weekend for the last 5+ yrs you'd have better hearing and would enjoy the music more>>>

(just had to say it )

Well said.

^^^ unfortunately, that review quoted a few posts up is my main reason for not going...despite Tiesto probably dropping some seriously good trance.

maybe I'm getting old (nah), but I find myself less willing to tolerate that kind of environment these days. Marco V @ Guv should be much better in all of those regards (crowd, sound, space, non-worshippers, etc).

Pretty much what has been said is what I feel aswell.

really hot , mainly cause it was completely rammed!! way too many people. way too many cracked out asians. MOst people were friendly and said excuse/sorry. So that was alright. Some didnt, of course.

I too noticed the sound wasnt up to par. I thought it was a way better set then in dec. He really tore it up. He was really into it and having a great time, which makes it way better!

I was at the left side of the stage for the first bit, then moved outside . then hung around the right bar near the b ack of it for a good while. Then went outside one more time. however I wasnt outside for more then 20mins the entire night. Came back inside and decided to try and get in the front to snap some pics and enjoy the night that much more. by that time all the "ginos" and "that Dj guy is awesome" people had left. So it was easier to get up front.

That part pissed me and made me laugh. All the people who had NO F'N IDEA who he was.

He kept dropping track after track, never letting up. It was awesome.

I was having a huge blast, soaked completely through my shirt when Tiesto motioned to throw a record into the crowd. I got ready.

and fucking SHAQ attacked everyone and caught the first record! People had no idea where it went. was quite funny. then he starts fiddling with another one so I handed the first record to my g/f and got ready again. i thought he was gonna toss it furthur or another direction but he didnt. I leaped and owned everyone again.

THATS RIGHT. I caught both records .

My very first vinyls .

That was the 9th and 10th cherry on top of an AMAZING night!

too bad he didnt toss his headphones .

GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A short review:

I know a lot of people will disagree with me when I say this but this wasn't one of Tiesto's best sets at all. I was pretty dissappointed with a number of things. First and foremost his fucking exit!! WTF was that??? He just dissapeared and never came back!! Like all the best dj's in the world would come back and play a few of their classics and show their appreciation to the city. It was like Tiesto just spit on Toronto and walked off on us. He never even completed his 6 hour set, it was more like 5:30. Another thing is why the FCK he didn't drop "Perfect Silence"??? OMG nada is was hoping and hoping and praying to god that he would come back just for this song, but no. Very dissapointed about that one. Also no lethal industry - trance anthem that is???? Another problem was obviously the sound system. I remember at the beginning is wasn't even working at all. And if someone was gonna close for Tiesto, why choose someone like that guy from Montreal. There was no sound at all when he played, it was like they completely turned off all the speakers! And he played like shit, nothing interesting. And the whole thing with ppl yelling and chaunting Tiesto's name for nothing at the end? Weak finish to this concert!!! Very weak!! Especially after listening to his set in Italy this month, this was nothing compare to it. But to put all the negatives apart, I still had an amazing time because you can't regret what he didn't play but should cherish what he did play. And some of the stuff was just simply insance. I thought the highlight song for the crowd was Traffic after watching how crazy everyone were going!! I'm happy to meet more TA's this time round again. And to see some old faces again!!!

Nada - you were just brilliant girl as always, i can't describe how much full of energy you are and how you get the crowd moving!! You owned that speaker for like 3 hours there girl!!!! Only thing is WTF happened to you when you came to the beach after????

Fahad - always nice to see you and even though i know you weren't too impressed with this set too, i know you still had a great time!!!

Dan - where da fack do you get ur energy from buddy??? Dancing like that the whole night is insane!!! I tried to keep you moving as much as I could!!! Pump up that crowd!!!

Karim - you're just a god for making this roll call period!! Nice to finally meet up with you.

Preppie chick - how u feeling there girl? my buddy from london pub was wondering about you. hope you enjoyed this party as much as I did!!!

Props to everyone else (vertigo, yankeebaby, magikb) and sorry if I missed anyone!!! I just got home after passing out on the beach for a while!! Cherry beach was awsome and the weather was insane!! Cept for the fact that my buddy locked his keys in the trunk and then we had to get like 4 guys to break in through the window to open it up. At least $100 damages on his car when he could of just called CAA for like $40. Feel sorry for him. Going to get some sleep now!!! All I gotta say is why did it go by soooooooooooo fast

The place was so crowded.. this time around I didn't manage to find any familiar faces. That's a bummer we didn't meet and no Ridgewalkers - Find
I was near the front on the left side for the first hour of the set or so and then couldn't take the pushing and shoving and moved all the way to the right.
Then I ended up in VIP and ended up dancing my ass off inches away from Tiesto all night got a chance to chat with him briefly and he signed my cd.. I can die happy now

I'm on it

He dropped Airbiscuit - Lately (Riley and Durrant Remix) in there somewhere, as well as Ron Van Den Beuken - Sunset.

BTW, I found the inclusion of Bennassi Bros - Love Is Gonna Save Us kind of weird... didnt really fit in to the set I thought.

Amazing night.. and yes it was rather quiet. When your ears don't ring afterwards you know it was just too quiet. And yes, too many fucking people plowing through the crowd. There's better ways of getting through.. a simple TAP is nice. Anyway.. who cares. Oh .. yeah.. that exit.... big fucking thumbs down. I turn around to talk to my friends.. turn back and uhh.. where's Tiesto? Pre-6am, sigh.

About the volume though, I thought The Docks have been catching a lot of shit from island residents or something? Is that a load of BS or true?
