hahahaha

When I pull out up front, you see the Benz on dubs
When I roll 20 deep, it's 20 knives in the club
Niggas heard I fuck with Dre, now they wanna show me love
When you sell like Eminem, and the hoes they wanna fuck
But homie ain't nothing change ho's down, G's up
I see Xzibit in the Cutt that nigga roll that weed up
If you watch how I move you'll mistake me for a playa or pimp
Been hit wit a few shells but I dont walk wit a limp
In the hood, in L.A. they saying "50 you hot"
They like me, I want them to love me like they love 'Pac
But holla in New York them niggas'll tell ya im loco
And the plan is to put the rap game in a choke hold
I'm feelin' focused man, my money on my mind
I got a mill out the deal and I'm still on the grind
Now shawty said she feeling my style, she feeling my flow
Her girlfriend wanna get bi and they ready to go

It is hardly an embarassment....sure people will poke fun at it, but it doesn't phase me in the slightest.

well in the younger population in this country (me too) its either german commercial BS or hiphop. not much true Trance lovers around... and I am in no way embarrased to say that I love Trance. It is my proud and firm decision to listen to melodic and danceabale music, not some simple hiphop beat and lyrics that sound all the same sometimes and say its the best song ever until a new one comes along a day later... OMFG!

but the few friends I have, do accept that I listen to Trance and dont mock it mostly, i repeat, mostly...
but then again, I can always give them the same shit with the rock music that comes from america and is pretty much all the same happy chords and words about how pashed someone got at a party!

Peace!

I have liked Trance since I was 13, so it's been a long time. My peers never really understood it. I made many CDs for people in high school, but couldn't get people into it. I even offered to DJ at one of the school parties, since there was a kid named Kyle who had DJed a few of them. He played mostly hip hop and R&B, with some older dance-pop music like Michael Jackson. I had talked with him at one of the dances, and wanted to know if he had any trance, techno or house music in his collection. He had one song, so he decided to play it. Lo and behold people stopped dancing! it was much faster than the rap and R&B he was playing, but people were just not interested. That baffled my mind, as R&B and hip hop are played in clubs, but they are not nearly as fast as most EDM. The only reason I could think of..why people weren't dancing...is because they didn't know how to dance to any other type of music!

To make a long story short...I was told I couldn't DJ a dance and play EDM because the administrators at the school didn't want "rave" influences...or drug use. But some songs that talked about sex, drugs..crime and used profanity were okay, but mostly instrumental music like trance wasn't....doesn't make sense.

Wow dude that sounds almost like being jewish in nazi germany.
That's really bad I'm sorry for you to experience such a thing.
As for me my friends happen to listen to all EDM and my fiancee
also is a hardcore EDM person. Now we don't take drugs (only
1 friend happenes to be a "raver") the rest are like clubbers
that listen to mostly trance and EDM exclusivley. (And
don't put on wigs and clown suits on parties like a lot of ppl)

All are like pretty old already too. Like me.
one is a cop the other is in law related shit too,
We all hate that gangster rap shit too btw. We think its really stupid
period.
Anyways it don't matter anyway beacause if trance was like hip hop
and r&b (meaning this popular) then I wouldn't feel like its something
special which it is. I would still listen to it though....

and i appreciate others opinions, but i don't let that affect my view of trance. trance is the form of music that i enjoy, and i'm never embarassed to tell anyone.

oh shut the fuck up please, what I meant was that If people say trance music is all the same...my answer is that so is rock music nowdays!!

I'm not being ignorant by telling my opinion you dumbfuck! I said it before and i say it again I HATE R&B(hio hop or whatver the fuck is) and also heavy metal and goth music, I only like old and classic rock music tho. End of.
thats my opinon, now if you dont like it you can fuck off!

anyway I just came from work going for a shower while listening to trance LOUD!!!! see you later

That is not what you said. You simply attacked rock music for "sounding the same" and if you actually meant what you're now saying you meant, then your choice of wording is incredibly poor.

"rock music: they are all boring and pretty MUCH THE SAME!!!" is a completely blunt and ignorant statement.

You remind me of a much more hostile and defensive version of a certain member of this forum called "RaVeRSurGe" only I'm having a very hard time believing you are for real.

You and me both

I count 3 hostile uses of 'fuck' in his reply to an, albeit derogatory, but ultimately more passively worded 'dis'

ok I make this clear, I really have nothing against any other genre of music in general, what I said about them was ONLY from my point of view and my opinon, I didnt mean everyone should dislike them!!

im sorry if I ofended anyone, I want the world know that trancers are NOT ignorant and smallminded!

heck I even listen to some indi(sp?) music sometimes, some of them al alright, and I love pink floyd & fredy mer queen(sp?)

Posted by hybridh22a1 on Aug-24-2005 11:52:

wow, i never expected this huge a reply. Thanks to those who took the time to respond.

Lemme start off by saying i'm in no way ashamed of liking trance. I didn't explain what i meant, but "embarassed" comes close to the feeling i mean. Basically that you aren't within the "norm" of most people (especially EDM people). Thats all, i meant.

I love trance, and almost everyone i know understands that. Its really funny, I have friends who will NEVER admit to liking it, but in my car or house they love it. So long as no one can see them, they like it! This is especially true in my EDM liking friends. I kid you not when I say that liking trance up here is tantamount to having lepracy. The worst part is this: Every person who hates (or says they do) trance got into EDM because of it (at least 99%).

Its really interesting to me how the rest of the world (basically outside North America) has EDM as a mainstream music source. My best personal experience with this is when I went to London a couple years ago. My friends (all native Britans) asked me what music I liked; so i said "techno." After that about 30 secs of silence ensued... Then they asked: "ok, what kind?" It never occurred to me that every one of them (about 5) had EDM to listen to their whole lives. It was "normal" and their most popular form of music. It took me a few minutes to understand that they knew about EDM from just simply living in Great Britan, not being part of any "scene." My friends who live there are not into raves, parties, drugs, etc. They are simply put: average, everyday people. Thats what made it so profound.

Thanks again for the great replies! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, been really busy.

yeah, everyone here thinks trance is for fags, and that only gay people like it. its really pathetic. whenever i cruise around town i always have my system jacked up blasting my top tunes of that week, and i get weird looks. apparently most people in this shity country would rather listen to the same butt rock that they've heard for 30 years than some new EDM, really sad.

kind of, tho' i don't really listen to it anymore, but whole electronic music is being bashed by emos and other newbs here :>

when someone asks me what music i listen to, i just reply african drumming...

Posted by Shudder on Aug-24-2005 16:55:

i wasnt embarressed about listening to trance when i did listen to it. its just people would constantly annoy me by telling me how much the music itself sucked and was for braindead people or only for ginos and such... so i figured wats the point of explaining if people fail to understand or just dont want to?
now that i've moved onto listening to a lot of progressive house, i dont even know how to start explaining what i listen to...
Me: dude im so l337 i listen to progressive house as opposed to hip hop
other person:

dude: What are you listening to?
me: IDM

hahahaha that's the same with a few friends here but in general people aren't too negative towards trance. They're pretty much "I have no clue who the hell you're referring to". Much like my family and my schooling:

Aunt: What are you doing in University?
Me: Information Technology
Aunt: .....
Me: Computers...
Aunt: ooh sorry I don't know.
Me in my mind: *of course not you nitwit if it's not business you don't give a rat's ass.

Just finshed reading the whole thread and I have to agree with alot of you. All I got to say is music is music, it should be enjoyed by everyone no matter what race or what style (of music).

P.S. Some of my friends are starting to get into breaks, instrumental and dnb, finally a change than "YO BITCH GET INTO MY FANCY CAR AND WE GO SHOOT UP SOME GANGSTAS WHILE YOU SUCK MA DICK AND SMOKE SOME WEED"[/rant]

P.S.S. Thats just the generalized music they listen to, not all rap, hip-hop and RnB is bad.
