Just like NASCAR is the lame and improper American excuse for auto racing. And what does NASCAR have to do with this thread? Absolutely nothing, but I hate it.

Oh come on man, everyone likes seeing a bunch of ugly overpowered cars go around in circles for 10 hours with absolutely no form of action or entertainment other than somebody switching lanes or crashing into a wall and bursting into flames killing about 15 spectators. What does this have to do with the topic, I dont know.

Actually, probably more important than that, is to release an ungodly amount of big label mix CDs, thus ensuring that they will get ripped, mislabeled, and placed on file-sharers as something you made. If you're prolific enough and play all the top hits, your name pops up the most on p2p app which is generally where the balance of the trance community gets its music. Such name recognition slingshots your popularity. Such is the legacy of DJ Mystik. Such is the legacy of Oakenfold, who made such hits as Gamemaster, Binary Finary and Enervate. And El Nino.

Tiesto got where he is because he's good at what he does, and he produced a good deal of crowd pleasers.

Is he the best mixer on the planet? No, but he's damn good. There are better technical DJ's out there I am sure of it, but it doesn't matter.

All that matters is that Tiesto will be in L.A. on August the 20th and my friends and I are flying out to have the time of our lives. We love EDM, and we love the feeling we get from being on the front row of big events like this.

If his mixes aren't flawless, I won't get my boxers in a wad.

Therein lies the difference between us. Tiesto is good enough for you to dance to - that's great, because it makes it really easy for you to have a good time. Unfortunately for me, I have to listen to a DJ with strong technical skills and track selection to be able to enjoy myself. As a result, it is much harder for me "to get off my ass and dance".

I envy you, for I wish it was as easy for me to have a blast at a party.

Haven't seen him yet. But I will see him shortly.

I saw Tiesto in Seattle. The DJ before he went on was an extremely hot brunette girl spinning breaks. She had me grooving harder than Tiesto did, but the crowd response to Tiesto was a LOT more upbeat when Tiesto was on. Maybe Tiesto has developed some sort of reputation where people go nuts no matter what track he drops....
