now that I'm awake:
Demi:
Opened very slowly. Actually I was kinda annoyed at the lack of BPMs, but once the guv floor got around 1/2 full, he started dropping some bombs, actually harder than I was expecting for that time of night. The sound was REALLY shitty in the guv at this point, the high frequency ranges were all clashing together, and for a DJ like Demi, where he likes to mess around with the EQ levels a lot, it definately took away from his set. Either way, especially towards the end of his set, Demi was getting into it in usual style, pumping up the crowd and jumping around the booth like the speed freak woman from stereo.

Digweed:
After Demi had left him with a very dark pounding twisted sound, I was curious to see how digweed would work out of it. Well, he really didn't have to. Digweed was noticably irratated at the sound setup, and on his very first mix, he put one beat out of phase with the other....The first time I have ever heard digweed make a mistake on a mix. So after some 'on the fly' equipment repair, digweed got a little more electro-y, chuggy progressive. Harder and more club-friendly music than his older stuff, it seems as though Digweed's new choice of music is being influenced by the likes of the all the grungy electro out there, which I am a huge fan of, so I had no complaints from a musical standpoint. However, as soon as Digweed got behind the decks, the guvernment became SILLY PACKED, and extremely annoying, especially when the crackheads decide walking through a crowd is less productive than stumbling, and falling into people to force their way around ! Anyway, it was at this point when Graham, RJ and I decided to check out the goldclub lounge, overlooking the floor, and without any exaggeration, that move saved my night. I hate being rammed in with people to the point of motionlessness, as I'm usually not on enough drugs to be content with just swaying or nodding my head to the music. The goldclub lounge was air conditioned, had room to dance, and the sound didn't have the same crappy levelling as the mainfloor. Because of this, I conjured up a storm with my LEDs, and recieved some of the nicest compliments form a whole bunch of different people, and for the most part didn't get the 'my friend is fucked up, give them a lightshow' line. Which was nice, since I never get the chance to use them LEDs anymore. Graham and RJ dissappeared, and I was left to fend for myself for a couple hours, so I ran into a girl and her group of friends, [ann or anna, I can't remember which], I told them about TA, so if you're reading this, then stop lurking and join up.
As for the remainder of Digweed's set, he didn't get too chuggy or mellow paced a whole lot, which can be a trademark of one of his sets, but I did find towards the end he went a little too close to the 'breakdown->buildup' formulaic sets of trance for my liking.

Deep Dish:
Came on afterward for their annual closing set. Knowing deep dish the way I do, I knew exactly how their set was gonna be structured, so the first part was gonna be boring melodic stuff, in an attempt to make the 'sleep dish' believers leave the room, only to miss the late-night mayhem. I decided this was my time to wander, so I first checked out some of Andy C, to embrace my oldskool raving past, and it sure hit the spot. I'm no expert on jungle by any means, but I still love those massive basslines, and bad-ass sound jungle can still bring. Afterward, I went to check out evil 9, only to find out I had the set times wrong, and I missed them. Instead I ran into LKD, and partied with him in the orange room for a bit before checking out Demi on the skybar. Didn't stick around for Demi too long, because it was about the time Deep Dish would be bringing the hammer down on the guv, so back down to the goldclub lounge I went. And WOW....just wow. Deep Dish killed it. To those people who don't like deep dish, these are the hours you have to see them play, the late late hours, when they can just get so twisted you'd think their whole record collection was double jointed. They played tribal, tech-house, to really really weird scary sounding stuff which I don't even have a name for. The club was still full, and no one was leaving. At some point, graham and I decided the main floor was roomy enough to make an appearance, and when we got down there, I found the sound wasn't quite as terrible as it was earlier on [maybe it was just because me eardrums were already destroyed?]. Anyway, The club was full up till the last beat, although I had run out of energy maybe an hour and a half to the end, [cramping legs and arms], my ass was parked in the guv, and I would not miss out on a Deep Dish Closing set at LoL.

Oh, and Karim had his shirt 'dance you ******s' up on stage with the dish at the end....did you get that shit signed boy?

Anyway, apart from sound issues and overcrowding, not a bad night. On the scale of 1-10, I'd give the whole thing a 7.5/10

Ok... Got there expecting a big line but was pleasently surprised. Within 10 mins I was in!

w00t. Oliver layed down some great tracks. Then Marcus came on. Ive been a fan of him for a while and it was awesome to see him live. HE was really enjoying himself .

Then Grayarea came on and well...who the hell TURNED UP THE VOLUME? it sounded like shit! Totally made me disinterested.

So at that point I took a "break " and went to the Guv..bad idea!
it was , in true guv fasion discustingly rammed! I think everyone was in there at that point . I headed straight back to KH just for the extra room.

Blank and Jones...omg. I knew they would be great and they were. Great energy , tracks etc. Amazing!

Then Armin, WOW!

I cant thank AMB_ enough SUPER COOL dude. !!!!

Was awesome to jam on the stage for a while. Shook Armins hand and just watched him enjoy himself. It was great!
While there Swamper came up (who I met earlier) and it was really great to be up there with him!Again, nice meeting you. Great guy!

Ampz was also there. crazzzzzzzy. we kept bumping into eachother through the night! Always with good information! Also honked at ya on the way out(incase you wondered who that was)

I then found a decent spot just off center about 10feet from the front. well it was good until all these people started to pour in in the last hour. All these guys trying to push there way to the front. I didnt like that.

this one guy..i cant beleive it... comes up to me.

WHOSE PLAYING?
what? whats the song???

NO no, WHO is the DJ

*fu*ked up look on my face*
its Armin Van buuren..

oh, cool . He then proceeds to push to the front.
wtf.

I also noticed Armin looking my way more then a few times. Maybe cause I was the only guy jumping non stop with both my hands up while everyone around was tired.
He definately smiled at me

Amazing track listing from him aswell. Lyteo..omg! urban train(i thought of trancee when that came on ) etc.

He had an amazing time and the vibe was just great!

I had an awesome night and it was a really really really fantastic party.

On my way out there was a door open to the side(which goes back behind the stage) and who comes around the corner...but Armin himself. SOme guy called him over. They chatted for a sec and took a photo. I then got to say thank you , and awesome set. My g/f (mistrance) said thanks and he gave her a kiss. Damn you Europeans I then got my pic with him.

Awesome way to end the night!!!!!
I CANNOT wait to download the live feed video!

Nice to meet some other TA's aswell!
the place was rammed till the very end! insane!

so much more to say.... but it all sums up with "AMAZING"!

Fuck that was one amazing event...Blank & Jones + Armin were the golden sets of the night for me, especially AVB when dropped Communication Pt. 3 Saw a couple of hours of Deep Dish and their set was so much better than any set I heard from them. They dropped Pump up the jam I think 3 times? lol All different remixes....They even played The Hustle (or whatever it's called...the Fresh Prince song) I was really frustrated most of the night, too many people and I wasn't able to check out Deko-ze, Sydney, Demi or Digweed I only heard a little bit of Sydney and she dropped my Fuck u song! You see, if your deejay's whack...turn around to that bitch and say fuck u Also, for some reason I kept falling asleep dancing around 9-10 which also really irritated me...so I ended up not going to the zone and just went to sleep. Nice seeing All the TAs I usually see + all the new ones. Amen to a grand night; my mind went through so many journeys.

Posted by djeso on Sep-05-2005 22:26:

so I survived the night and head home around 9 am to learn that i have to go to work, so now it's 6:21 and I'm home, so tired that i'm too tired to sleep

anyways

for me it was definately Blank & Jones that made my night, first time seeing them too, played pure quality

as for the crowd, I hated it, I never got pushed elbowed hit so many times before, and it was so incredibly hot, I was soaked.

I danced my ass off like there was no tomorrow, can't feel my back, neck, and legs ha ha

Big thanks to mr 8 Wonders and Arek for making it possible for me to attend, and thank you(you know who you are) for saving me from that freak, she kept on hitting me, grabbing, and grinding me, and afterwards she tried to pick pocket me, I pulled her hand out of my pocket where my wallet was just in time, pure craziness

Good seeing and partying with you all

Peace Love Unity

dancing having a good time when this strong stingy smell hits your nostrils. daaaaaaamn.

i felt bad for his gf but i guess it's true love being able to withstand that.

also some fucks kept yelling and giving armin the finger, not cool at all, vibe killer, and some fucknut ripped up one of Loco's signs.

uncool behaviour.

also loca and I got flashed by some boobies in a bra.

No offense to that guy, but he really did smell, terribly!

It was so funny when we were making our way to the lounge area, this girl saw that I was chewing gum so she asked me for a piece, then another one of her friends comes and she wants a piece, then another, and another and another, I was like what the fuck am I a candy shop here or what! It's all cool, I hope whoever you are that you enjoyed it

I agree. That room was crazy. The jungle room as well. I would have liked to have caught evil 9 over andy c, but hell, I was stupid and didn't pay close enough attention to set times.

And I couldn't turn down deep dish or diggers when I actually had room to move, in an air-conditioned spot.

btw saw lots of people slipping shit into people's waters. That's downright sickenings.

I heard this KILLER house remix of "Styx - Mr Roboto" in that tent, about the time Blank & Jones were on stage in KH. It stuck in my head this morning as I was coming home from the party. Househeads ID??

Oh, and Deep Dish really is awesome near closing hours, totally twisted house music.

Posted by zoogla on Sep-05-2005 23:04:

OMFG...what a night

Got there a lot earlier than normal because of all the warnings going off from the promoters and stuff...so I did. It was the first time I saw the Guv line going all the way around to the traffic light at Loblaws...fucking insane. I saw Sarah (Barry's roommate) at the END of the line, and I wanted to help so bad; I'm really sorry I couldn't because it was just me +1 on the guest list! Pat, I love you

Finally get inside KH to hear Markus. Meet Tyler within minutes to give me the disappointing news:

I missed Ridgewalkers (feat. El) - Find (Markus Intro Edit). I was crying inside but I had faith that my God (AVB) would drop it on me...guess I wasn't praying hard enough the night before.

While I can still remember everyone:
MORAL HAZARD!!!!!!!!!! Fucking awesome to finally meet you, dude! You can break a step, man!!!! Awesome dancing to you at front and centre! And of course, ChemEnhanced wasn't far away! hehehehehe YES, they ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!!! Nice to meet both of you.
Also met Raveed, Goodnet, LilPoonzGirl (Jem you're right...Poonz hugz are awesome! ) Euphorica, and Spankmeister for the first time; wicked meeting you all...I'm sure there are other new meetings that I'm missing...please remind me who you are so I can retain that mental snapshot!

Everyone else that I already know--thank you for again making it a night to remember...LOL at my early days when I would list every single one of you...now that just seems retarded because there are so many moments with so many people. You effin rawk, all of you. Rob (RTT), special mention for you for being such a stellar individual. You take such good care of me I'd think you're ghey sometimes Just kidding you mofo! I love seeing you and your girl on the floor...a force to be reckoned with!

Now for the music...it was Jenny's first event and she's never seen all the rooms at the complex so after a few tracks at KH we went for a walk. The tent had some serious bass pumping and on to the Guv. Digger was on and I've never heard him before. It was FUCKING slow. I don't know if that's how he always plays; I guess it was the beginning cuz I passed through later and the pace was a bit faster but still nothing like what was going on in KH IMHO.

Jenny really liked Sky Bar with its chillin, soft beats (around 1 am). She's more of a lounger so I guess that's why. Couldn't miss another second of Markus so down we went.

By that time GrayArea was on, and I was actually very impressed with the pumping bassline. Very quick tempo and had me moving pretty strong. And when Blank and Jones came on, that was it. I was going nowhere. What an awesome transition for Armin. I was near front for that and I remember while B&J were clapping for the crowd and smiling, a bunch of idiots were already calling for Armin. LOL I remember Spitty turning around with the dirtiest look I've ever seen (and I've seen some dirty looks from Spitty before ) so I kinda got scared into yelling, BLANK AND JONES, and looked at the guys yelling AVB and they actually changed their chant to mine and it was all good. Yay, I love happy endings.

Chris, too bad you weren't there, man. So cool that you were able to watch it online. I spoke to DJ Kandaio later on that night and the ideas about live video streaming were unreal. I would SO pay for that (but if I wasn't able to make it for the event chances are I'm too busy to watch it live, too!). Thanks for representing!

LOL yeah, Andrea, Laura and I were dead, smack, front and centre. I tried to make room for Jenny earlier on but the crowd was absolutely disgusting when AVB came on. I've never seen a more rude and hateful bunch before. Some guy decked Jenny in the face with his elbow and I just grabbed him by his arm and neck and threw him behind me...I never felt so angry before. And Jenny just left then And a few minutes later told me she wanted to go home. That was the low point of the night for me

But luckily, AVB did what he does best and I was banging to the beats again.

A few highlights:
- Fanning, as usual ...loved coming to the seating area next to the bar at KH and fanning the corner where Pat, Mario, Endgame, Tamiko, Mark, and Jenny were sitting.
- Writing this message:

and giving it to the security guy that stood next to AVB the whole night gathering shirts and stuff from the crowd for autographs. He read it, gave it to AVB, and then came back to me nodding his head with a thumbs-up sign... unfortunately I guess Armin was playing to hard for Ridgewalkers-Find to be squeezed in; although I was SERIOUSLY begging when he was going slower in the last few moments.
- my new favorite song is the one John highlighted:

To hear this dropped twice really made me happy...someone please ID this for me?!
- Going up next to AVB on his stage with Paula and taking pictures with her...that was fookin awesome!

Man...filled with highlights but have to do other things now...can't wait to see all the pics; Paula I'll call you later re: uploading your pics!

Posted by TFT-Productions on Sep-05-2005 23:19:

here is my review:

Got to the club at around 11:45, and got into the guv lineup... Waited there for about an hour or so, until the bouncers told us there was no entry.... so evryone had to go to kool haus lineup and wait there. We finally got in around 2:00am, and bar was closed . Went up front to see Blank & Jones and WOW. Amazing tunes being dropped. They really stole the show for the night. Pure trance! There were a lot of people shoving through and stepping / hitting you when passing, which was totally uncool, but as the night progressed it got a bit better.

Shook hands with some people I had met at Decadence (goodnet, vertigo, playa_247, as well as a few other people I hadn't met before. I hope you all had a blast, as i did . Was great to see so many people with armin van buuren shirts hahah, I think we got one with about 5 people in the pic all with armin shirts on. Come 7:20 I didn't have any energy left as I worked from 7am, and had to miss the rest of armin's set.

Overall, the vibe of the crowd was decent, aside from some of the rude people pushing past you. The gino who asked me if armin was playing: classic... Glad to see lots of people dancing their asses away to music they love having an amazing time.

Tim

Cute Missing Guy from LOL

Ok, so I danced with a guy on the stage of the Guv at about 7:00 and then he came over to Koolhaus and danced with a few of my friends and mine just as Armin finished his set. He was wearing a striped shirt. I was wearing a Release Records T. His lady-friend wasn't very happy we were flirting, and his buddies were protective, but I felt a "vibe". Wasn't brave enought to ask his name, but I think our paths have crossed before (NYE?) Like to get to know him more if he is online.

Posted by Infamous Jay on Sep-05-2005 23:56:

in that same catagory, i crossed paths with two girls last night, i thought one of them was T.A. they both were asian, i think one of them was sarah? my memory for the most part as far as names go is shotty at best.

i was dead middle for the entire AVB set, u probably saw me at least once. i am new by the way, my TA accnt hasnt cleared waiting time yet.
