His essential mix is awesome and I think that the reason people like him so much is the fact that he seams like there's no place he'd rather be. He may trainwreck or play songs that aren't the greatest at time but even though I dislike him I can see how he could really get a party going.

When a DJ just looks like he's having a great time it makes my experience 10 times better.

one must be really damn naive to say that Tiesto sucks and Armin and PVD are great. Since all of them have gone downhills alot during the last couple of years. PVD is far from the PVD he once was. His latest album proved that he is more a producer of eurodance than trance. And his TPOD2 just showed that he copypasted Armins tracklist.
No wonder people say that trance is dead.

A huge +1 to both of those!

And this coming from the guy with a TPOD poster on his wall.

Trance needs to kill the superstars. And thankfully, though release of crossover mediocrity, they're cooperating.

God, I wish I could understand this way of thinking. I'm not trying to flame you or anything but they could get any 16 year old bedroom banger and put him up there and he would provide the exact same experience... stoked as all hell to be up there but a bit crap with the mixing and playing a bunch of old classics and big hit tunes.

I mean imagine if they had Tiestos attitude when they were trying to land on the moon. Ah well, they fucked it up a bit, but they really wanted to be there...

I know exactly what you mean, I was just trying to play devil's advocate for a second even though I dislike Tiesto quite a bit. When I see DJs having a good time it makes things a lot better but I still care a lot more about the tracklist, a DJ enjoying himself just pumps me up a lot more than say Dave Clarke, who spun a wicked set but never smiled.

Posted by RebeL9 on Sep-30-2005 04:11:

if that is the case I think no one is better than Scooter live because they don't do anything besides jumping around smiling and having a great time. Who cares about their shitty tunes. Scooter are teh best!!!

If you're reffering to me then maybe you havn't been reading. I won't go and see a DJ because he jumps up and down like an idiot or smiles constantly.

I will however go and see a DJ who's livesets that I enjoy and if they play tracks I enjoy then I have a blast, if they happen to look like they're having a great time then I consider it a bonus. If I'm not into the music then I won't enjoy myself at all.

i haven't been on the MD section of TA for a while, so when i saw this i was like "cool. tiesto is still hot shit."

i bought Tiesto in Concert in DVD and i thought it was a very neat show. Especially the american section with the USA colors and the motorcycles and cheerleaders. Flight 643 was of course banging with tiesto coming out the booth and walking all over the stage.

i saw Tiesto in Concert 2 at Best Buy, but didn't pick it up. If i EVER see it again, i'm still enough of a fan to check it out.

anything unique about this show or did he just play Jimmy Van M tunes all nite?

Cheerleaders, motorcycles, usa colours?? - one could be forgiven for thinking your talking about the superbowl half time show, rather than a dj mixing record.

I actually laughed my fucking ass off when the FIRST MIX i heard when I got in there turned into a wreck...and Tijs is sitting down there in his monkey booth grinning and doing a little gay dance as the beats slide further off...making no attempt whatsoever to catch them...andjust slamming the next track in before it gets too bad.

This was the highlight of the night.
