Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Ishkur's post highlighted the error in people mistaking DJ's for producers and you told him to accept change in response to that post. However, the latter part of your post above suggests you or I may not have read the post properly.

Okay, so one day the city decides that the next exciting location for its landfill is your house, and without prior warning garbage trucks just show up, crash through your front door and start unloading messy garbage all over your bedroom.
And when you complain, the city's meek reply is "Sheesh, things change, man. Accept it already."
heh.

what a crappy analogy

It would work...
If trance infringed on human rights and the law.
Posted by dartrance on Oct-26-2005 00:51:
Ishkur: Someones life is a lot more fucking important than the first sound of trance music.
Good grief man give it a rest already. The amount of time you waste on this shit makes me laugh to death.
I wonder what would happen if ishkur was in a room with Oakenfold, tiesto PVD and armin.
Posted by Ishkur on Oct-26-2005 07:07:
a life.......more important than a culture.
Hmmmm.
Give me some time to think about that.

wtf man...
that analogy is total bullshit. NO-one's crashing through ur door. No-ones expecting u to listen to trance today. No-ones bothering u. Everyone else has just moved on, and ur still the same.
Here's a better analogy:
(by you, i don't mean specifically you, but it does help draw a better analogy, by forcing other ppl to use their imagination)
It's the 1980s
ur one of those morons in high school, that thinks that he can keep playing his guitar and keep on ROCKING with his little rock buddies, that go to his garage everyday after school and keep playing..
whilst you are incredibally armirable in your love for ur music, and ur aspirations for the future, your friends don't share ur vision/passion. Some of them move onto EDM and otehr genres, some of them decide to fuck it all together, and get a real job, adn get into uni. The rest of ur friends Ditch the style of rock that ur doing, and move onto the 90s style of rock.'
GUESS WHAT!!!! YOUR ALONE! the world has moved on. You love 80's rock. There's still heaps of ppl out there who love it too. unfortunately, the vast majority of ppl don't give a shit. They prefer teh newer style of rock.
GUESS WHAT! YOUR THE ROCK VERSION OF ISHKUR!
now, as with any change, u can do 3 things:
1) accept it, and get with.
2) say it's bullshit and spend ur dying years bitching about it (grandpa)
3) Form a movement, and try to get ppl back into it. The best way to do this, is to make something they like, so the appreciate the old way.
Ishkur, ur doing 2 and 3. I suggest u focus on 3, instead of 2.
ISHKUR, have u ever noticed that now-a-days, a lot of the little teeny boppers (non-EDM) still dance and sing along to 1970's 1980's shit?
WHY? BECAUSE IT SUONDS BETTER TO THEM. a lot of teeny boppers go and buy old 1970's and 1980's shit. Some even get the beetles.
WHY? BECAUE IT SOUNDS BETTER TO THEM, AND THEY LIKE IT. over-commercialism has killed the modern pop industry.
What u need to do, is stopping beind the spitting image of everyone's whining and moaning grandad, and encourage change. Best way, is to find some fat tunes, and some old DJs/producers, who love that shit (i know some who still do, and still make it, and still play it out).
USE THESE GUYS to encourage change, and get some of the teeny boppers of trance (as u see it), back into the older style.
Stop being a moaning grandpa, start being more of a leader. And more of a champion of change. Right now u have no fucking idea where u seem to be going.
I'm sorry, but if things still don't work out, then the only options u have is 1 and 2. TOo bad... the old times are gone, and maybe things are just no longer to ur taste.
oh gramps...
one more thing....
assuming ur shithouse analogy is actually reasonable...
The city would indeed be meek. And they'd probably treat other ppl the same way..
i'd form a movement. The world is still a free place for u, isn't it IShkur. If it wasn't, we would've banned ur stupid fucking website....
I'd do that... rile up the masses, and kill the city officials.... becasue so many ppl would be on my side, if the city was like that.
but unfortunately in ur case, maybe u need more ppl to agree with u. and if u can't work up any support then the world must be wrong. Couldn't possibly be u. Your opinion is superior to everyone elses.

Oh great Buddha,
I humbly bow my head at ur feet. However, I must point out to thy greatness, who could do no wrong, that at the poll it said i could vote for any producer/dj/artist...
following ur teachings, i avoided conflict, and did as i was told, oh great Buddha....
Amidha Buddha, may ur condescension fill this globe with happiness.

He does. It's called sponsering a little night called Big Trouble and promoting the hell out of a little DJ called Z-Trip.
Granted, a great number of folks seem to never pay attention to this since all they seem to hear are the odd rants about Dutch trance DJs and their endless retorts for a dig at their idols.

yah, which brings me back to my first post...
stop being an old whining grandad image, and be more of a leader. Stop wasting ur time...
no need to piss everyone off, things will move slowly, and should improve, if u play ur cards right.
your not helping urself. Ppl will ignore u if u piss them off, and won't wanna see what u have to say and ur opinion. They won't listen to ur stupid m00sic, if u've pissed them off about their tastes etc.

I love change. Every genre is changing, moving, evolving, growing, and doing it all with overzealous enthusiasm. And I embrace it all.
Except trance.
Ask yourself: why is that?

well i agree with you, trance can only go so far...but besides armin van buuren, and tiesto, i think paul van dyk deserves the spot he's in, hes yet to clamp his style to one ball breaking mold. he still plays trance but keeps it alive somehow, but other than that, he isnt as good as he used to be, and yea trance is dying

Ishkur, Then stop being a grandpa. Be a leader. Don't go around calling ppl asses for their opinions. NO-one will like u. IF u wanna influence ppl, they have to like and respect u first.
Do urself a favour, and stop being a grandad. Grandad's have a reason why things "are just not good as they used to be, the kids have no respect, technology is there, but it' smaking ppl lazy". And grandpa's usually have things they like, and things they don't, about "things now-a-days". Your no exception.
Ishkur, i don't give 2 shits y u think it's going down. That's completely not my point, and we could debate about it for years. I loved it today as much as i started, in 99. And i like pre-99 tracks too. I love it all. It's just differnet.
My point is, u have the right to ur opinion. If u wanna lead ppl, and gather followers (which is what u should be aiming for), ur going at it the wrong way.

bah, as long as he remembers who heled him up there...
I prefer to let the couse of nature take place unhindered...
if Ishkur has a point, and is a strong leader. Him and his cause will float.
If he's a complete fuckwith, him and his cause will sink....
most likely, he'll be semi-submerged, because he's leading the way he is right now. His cause will always be there. But never really make a movement in the scene, becasue of poor leadership.

maybe he can lead a bullet into his head?
seriously do you really care that much about his worthless ranting to go on and on about it?

You know, it's really hard to take someone seriously who uses words like "ur" and "u" and "y".
No, I do not want to lead. I want to make fun of you. And I do it all the time.

yah,
well then ur just a fucking asshole, that deserves to be treated like shit (like u already are).
ur just a fucknut, who needs to find something worthwhile to do in the sparetime of ur(limited) life. Ur no better than assholes, who sit in front of a computer in a LAN centre for 24 hours straight, and die from playing too much CS. The only differnece is, Ur just doing it by ranting about the state of trance.
ur a looser.
The fact that the only arguement u can bring up against me, is my use of acronyms, highlights this.
i will no longer visit this thread, until Ishkur is dead or something. And we all know ur next move would be to thank me for it, u predictable asshole.
Hope u die complaining about the state of the world today, Ishkur.

Who's more pathetic? Someone who rants about music online, or someone who rants about someone ranting about music online?
