Thumbs up

Technasia were my highlight.

Erick Morillo got the crowd pumping! hehe

Armin & Markus were okay, expected a bit more from Armin, but it was all fun.

Posted by tathi on Mar-05-2006 02:15:

Lavelle was my favorite, although his mixing reflected how trashed he was i think

Max Graham and Morillo was great

Guetta dropped Age of Love - Age of Love, fuck it was good to ehar that on a big system :O

went to Kink Afterparty, Left after two tracks by Morilla, cbf

i heard he charged $45,000 for the afterparty though, and kink hired a girl just to serve him drinks hah

Posted by tachyon on Mar-05-2006 02:40:

guetta dropped age of love? that would've been a sight. did he dropped that new remix of strings of life? from what i can tell he played pretty handbaggy here in melbourne.

From what I caught Tocadisco had the crowd going with some groovy cheese. I particularly dug that michael jackson house remix. Can't remember what track it was though.

Steve Angello - Only caught 30 mins but he had some wicked basslines happening.

Schulz did absolutely nothing for me tbh. Air for life was great but the set went nowhere. i could have been mistaken thinking it was a prog set. I stayed until the last 10 mins of the set hoping he would have a big finish but nope, so I headed to GU to catch James Lavelle.

James Lavelle - Set of the event, imo. Dirty funky, just the way I like it.

I stepped outside onto the balcony to have a taste of David Guetta. Perfect timing as Age of Love was just coming on. First time I've ever heard that out so it was awesome. That's when I caught Grunt and Tathi also on the balcony and soon we were all singing along to Mr Brightside, along with all the people on the lawn. Memorable moment indeed.

I went back to catch the rest of Lavelle. Good call Xenon with Lavelle ending with that In a State mashup.

Then it was on to AVB... average. Communication Part 4 was killer, but in terms of atmosphere AVB 5Hr @ Sublime continues to be hard to top. Like Schulz, I was expecting a massive close but it never came. Oh well.

After AVB I stuck around for about 10 mins of Tracid but it got too hard for me so it was back to GU for Max Graham - nice nice way to close out the event. U2 - With or without you was just brilliant. Mylo - In My Arms was a treat. Mixing was a bit shonky in places but the energy was great.

It was pretty obvious that remixing old pop/rock tunes is the trend for house. Sweet dreams for example. Thankfully I heard it only once but my mate tells me he heard it three times, twice in Morillo's set.

I only caught a few mins here and there of Morillo and he was playing similar stuff to Thirst, so I didn't regret missing him at all.

Seeing as I haven't been out in ages it was great to see the TA's and TT'rs out and about. Lots of eye candy around too so Future definitely got the formula right by making this a day - night event. Choice venue. The Subliminal area on Shannon Lawn was my fave, and the easy access to the GU room was sweet.

Too bad for the clashes, other than that it was a top event. Well done Future.

Weather held just fine. Great day out indeed, and I made it home before the clock struck twelve. Gotta love that 8)

oh noez, that doesnt sound good hehe

I didnt like all the pauses in morillo's set. And he sort of overused the cut to filter in effect. I thought technically steve angello and max graham with those wicked backspins were the best. I was loving that electro trance style armin had at about 1/2 hour into his set. And False Light was a highlight.

what an enjoyable event!! never have been to a day one, so was definitely a change and for the better

Loved tocadisco's set, opening with The Egg - walking away and playing 'nobody likes the records that i play' ... was lovin it.
Markus schulz was fantastic, playing 'air for life' one of my fav's !

Next up ARMIN, well i rushed the front for Zocalo and didnt move the entire time, directly infront of armin first row - as always!!
Loved zocalo, shivers, false light, and ending with tracking treasure down. but my fav part is always the time when he recognises me i got a big cuddle and a kiss and a quick chat before he signed my arm (ive run out of things for him to sign now ). what a sweet heart! def the most fun to watch, and interact with!....

wished i had the chance to see Guetta but unfortunately didnt want to lose my spot at Armin. Max graham was cool altho i didnt hear 'gone'.

all up very impressed! but nothing can beat jan 04, 5 hr Armin set!

videos and photos soon to come !

<--i got kisses this time hehe

pfft :P. nice to meet you yesterday mate. max did indeed play very funky, really enjoyed the majority of his set tho, especially with or without you and talk.

i was loving every minute of schulz's set also, and i haven't enjoyed much of schulz at all for the past couple of years so that definately was a pleasant surprise. will look out for more recent sets of his now.

other highlight was blackstrobe, but the big greasy guy seemed like a bit of a wanker which dampened it a bit. they didn't play many of the tracks i know either but it was still very cool and there was a pretty friendly crowd in that room.

didn't see a huge amount of armin or coburn but you can't have it all.

great event all round though, will definately be back for another one.

Awesome day!

Randwick racecourse is the prime location for a day event. Wasn't overly packed and the arenas were nice and spread out.

Highlights for me were Tocadisco, James Lavelle (that remix of "In a state" that he closed with was the track of the day)

caught bits of Steve Angello, Lee Combs, Eric Morollio and finished the day with some happy breaks in the form of Kid Kenobi.

Big shouts to the cbf crew! all the ta's on the day also!

back to bed

The best

That was freeeking unbelievable......

Fantastic atmosphere and crowd. Whoever you guys were, up the front and near me for Markus and Armin (I was wearing a white global dj broadcast shirt with a red logo), thanks for making my day/night.

Agreed on all that, top night and when it finished it was the start of the night ahhhh it was great.
Enjoyed Markus set and Armin aswell (not the best for Armin in my opinion, agreed his Armin Only set at Home was the best one)
Bit of kid kenobi to finish it off was the cherry on top for me.

whoseyadaddy, nice meeting you Im the dude that had the red godskitchen shirt

Posted by trance in da pa on Mar-05-2006 11:57:

nuthin can beat his Armin Only set at subbies. it was the perfect crowd and music coming together. still havent seen subbies at that level ever since then. Armin needs to go back to subbies!

That's what kept me out of the Mischief?/Sublminal arena most of the night in Melbourne last week. I'd go in there, hear some crappy old 80's song that I hated, then leave. Rinse, repeat. It didn't get any better.

Ahhh good meeting you too mate hehe.

Wicked day out. Didn't get there till about 4.30 but glad the weather turned out right.

Started off with Schulz, played much of the same as in Melb., atmosphere was completely different though. This was daytime and I was drinking, Melb. was night-time + munted + big arena + 5 sick lasers. Still some good tunes though.

Caught the first few tunes from Armin, yeah same stuff, nice ok whatever. Headed off to see Lavelle. Caught 10 min. before taking some time-out instead at the back of the Subliminal arena. Man that place was wicked up in the stands in the late afternoon. The sun coming behind you and the whole racecourse in front of you. That was something else. The World Is Mine! Well got back in time to hear Lavelle close with that Moby + UNKLE mash-up again. Just awesome, but yeah not the same *OMGZIDIE* effect as down in Melb.

Got Max Graham to sign a few of my vinyls of his. Uber-friendly + funny guy. Went back to Subliminal as Graham wasn't to come on for another 45. Nice having a dance up the front there and meeting a few mates.

But who am I kidding? I was there for Max. Great set, much better than last week. He must have enjoyed the extra hour he had here. Got to play a much greater selection although of course there was many an overlap in track. Finished off with a remix of my favourite U2 track "With Or Without You" [have something to do with them touring?] and then finally *the* track for me of the European summer: Gadjo - "So Many Times". As Max said "Morillo would be proud."

And so FMF came to an end. All up I'd have to say it was great success. But in saying that I never disliked TT 2005 - I thought it was pretty good unlike many others. It seems FMF will become just another day party rivalling the Fuzzy parties; I hope big night-time parties come up to recompensate although I am personally maturing into more the day-time attendee. Randwick is a great venue indeed.

Great seeing whoever I did. Blah blah blah, enough from me...

Oh except for this, my copy of Airtight:

<3 Max long time!

twas a good day/night and my legs are still sore haha

spent most of my time out on the subliminal lawn, but also caught mabye 45min-1hr of armins set too? I was in there when he started for the first 45 mins or so but i was surrounded by degenrates smoking joints as they were dancing so i moved, to then be surrounded by chargers with their shirts off who couldnt dance in the one spot. Ended up getting pissed off rather quickly so i went back outside to enjoy Guettas set. Came back in when morillo started playing (i must be one of the few people who really doesent enjoy the guy) and had a bit more of a dance right down the front on the left.

Kept an eye out for anyone i recognised, but the only person i spotted on the day was waXology as he was walking pretty briskly across the subliminal lawn (trying to find someone mabye) and i couldnt catch up haha.

Set of the day for me was tocadisco. I know everyones saying it was a bit of cheese, but i enjoy hearing tracks i know, that arent necessarily played on 2dayfm/nova hehe

got sick of hearing a few tracks 3 times or so later in the day ...
