Ok I know you guys will most likely be partying @ Space, Shine, maybe Nikki Beach etc...NOW there is a nice hotel in downtown which isn't the shitty part of downtown but right next to Bayside (next to Ultra) all you have to do is drive 5 mins down the street & jump on the ramp to Sobe which will be like 15 mins...that hotel from Space is 5 mins

ok here's how it goes...the main North/South highway is I-95. basically, there is a 195 exit and a 395 exit...both leading to south beach. u have to go on 395 and over the causeway to get to south beach...so it's like 2 more little highways u have to get on to get to the beach area, whereas to get to downtown, u just keep going on I95 and get off on one of the downtown exits. so that's the difference in distance between downtown and south beach.
but like me and lis said, downtown is sketchy. there's the whole work district with all the big buildings and brickell avenue n stuff (all extremely expensive condos and hotels and office buildings) but it's not near all of the clubs. there are a few good clubs downtown (Space, The Pawn Shop Lounge & Gold Rush strip club), but for the most part, ALL the action (especially during WMC) is in "South Beach".
so long story short...south beach
when i say "sketchy", i just mean that the whole downtown area isn't a place to get lost in. it's like one road is really nice, and then u make a wrong turn and ur in friggin crack town with bums harrassing u n shit..

oh and during wmc, there are so many friggin parties during the day...it's awesome. like at all the pools in the hotels n stuff...and all of that is in south beach. so u wanna be able to get up, get ur coffee (or crack, or whatever u need to get up or stay up) and then just walk outside ur hotel and walk down collins avenue and just go to like every party...it's awesome.

Like I said, $1600 for everything...
I like to stay in nice hotels... I just can't get a decent nights rest in a cheap ass hotel room... Besides, it's vacation, I'm down to go for broke...

i found some little hotel in north miami beach (Collins and 66th or something) and it's $87 a night for the 22nd to the 26th. i mean, unless u guys have tons of money to throw around, i would just try to keep it at around $100 a night (give or take a few bucks) for the hotel and use ur money for shopping and partying. u really just need a place to crash (if ur even gonna sleep), screw and shower...so who cares right?

u guys, trust me! south beach is super expensive to party...especially during wmc...ur gonna want to have that extra cash to throw on drinks and cabs n stuff. screw the nice hotel...ur gonna be too busy out and about for the most part.

well if you wanna stay somewhere REALLY nice, stay at the Fontainebleau. It looks cheaper than the Avalon stay & truuuust me it's nicer & classier...
link isn't working but it comes out to $1,240.82 hotel + flight if you leave from Chicago...
Jamie knows about this hotel, she can also tell you it's a beauty

ok so, if ur really set on splurging, then stay at one of the hotels right in south beach...like the Shelborne or the Chelsea or the Essex House. those are all dope.
check out the shelborne...i'm pretty sure every year during wmc, they throw a pool side party with some pretty decent acts. one year sandra collins was supposed to spin there but it got rained out.

Yeah, I don't mean for it to sound like I'm some fuckin' rich prick kid here, I'm not, I'm just a poor college boy who likes to look like he's a big shot...
But in all srsness, I just HATE staying in potentially sketch hotels... I've had some really, RLY bad experiences, especially during festivals/conferences/other random events lots of people are at, in shit hotels... I'd like to just be able to get cracked the fuck out and head back to a nice, comfortable, and safe hotel...
And it's always nice to get cracky in a swanky pad...
oh by the way, don't book your hotel room through expedia or hotels.com...it's a bunch of shit.
i was recently looking for hotels on the beach for NYE weekend, and they were quoting more than on the actual hotel's website. it was ridiculous. we were getting ready to book (and pay for) a $175 a night place on the beach, and then i went to the actual hotel's website, and the same room was like only $125 a night.

i'm planning a trip to L.A. for next summer for me and craig and i'm going all out. we're even gonna rent a sick car like a little bmw 3 series. hahah gotta go out in style!
