Let's just face it...You're talent buyer Carey will only be able to rehash the same old roster of DJ's from places like Stereo, the old Boa and Industry...

We already know there are several DJ's that we'd love to see spin at Sonic on that list, but it'll never happen!

this is a pretty foolish assumption to make.

i would like to know what grounds you base this assumption on....

It's been progressing exactly in that direction considering the names of the clubs mentioned. Be honest with yourself, I'm definitely sure I'm not the only one who feels that way...

This is a post from the Tribe message board:

is this what sonic is going to be about?regurgitating the same tired ny/chi house djs over and over again?whats next let me guess choo-choo? van helden? derrick carter?

Angello, Ingrosso, Prydz (hahaha), Scumfrog

First, you have no basis for this assumption. Why would he "only be able to rehash the same old roster of DJs". You said that this is the way it's been progressing thus far. That doesn't proove your argument about Carey's "abilities" in any way.

Second, I'm pretty sure Sonic club goers are going to be satisfied with DJs like Choo-Choo, van Halen and Derrick Carter.

At the very least, Sonic is expanding the choice of DJs that we see several times each year (Deep Dish, Armin, Infected Mushroom, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, etc).

instead of making instant assumptions based on your personal feelings you should let carey do his job. in about 8 months time evaluate the situation and see what the club has accomplished. to make ludacris assumptions without any backing whatsoever is amatuer.

OK...It's pointless for me argue this in depth and get attacked. I'll just quote you with your own words and leave it at that...

Too bad there's no chance of ever seeing Lawler at Sonic.

Can you imagine that?

Why did you feel this way?

Posted by Mako on May-09-2006 00:44:

Daaayum. I almost forgot...

Paolo Mojo. I know he was here last night, but fuck @ fluid? Sonic + Paolo Mojo = FTW.

'nuff said.

Lawler has said before that he has a great relationship with Talal @ Guv. Given Guv's track record of being against any DJ that plays at their club playing at any other venue that they don't have stake in, I think it was a fair assumption.

I'm serious, Power Hour was the best tunes I've heard in a while.
