btw...anyone notice that Harper is now explicitly telling Quebec voters that a vote for the Bloq is a waste?
amazing that the Liberals are ripped when they suggest the same thing about an NDP vote.

you're kidding right. That is not a justification by any means. Forming government is not the only reason to vote for a person or party. The Bloc does a good job of representing Quebec's interests..... if you're a Quebecer then having the Bloc hold a great deal of seats is good for you..... especially in a minority situation.

it's quite the priveleged position for Harper, isn't it?
no matter what he does, the Liberals have done the same or worse...so he's almost exempt from criticism.
all parties do the same shit...and you're right, in 4 years everyone will realize this (assuming a CPC win).
While this many years of Liberal gov't has made them complacent and arrogant, and pissed people off, it's also resulted in people forgetting that EVERY party does the same shit
we will likely get a majority conservative govt - they will be in for 1, 2 terms, who cares - after a while they will be plauged with scandal, and have done this wrong and this wrong, and my god the fresh new liberals are so amazing.. blah blah...
the never ending circle of political life..
I'm voting.

i have always been against 1 issue parties. so in this case for me personally its not a double standard. I have never waivered on my position when it comes to a 1 issue seperatist party. A vote for them IS a waste. A vote for the NDP is not.
And if corruption and scandel happens and is rampant and not dealt with in a good way like the case of the Liberals, then i will be calling for harper to step down as well. But they will have to do a lot of wrong to even hold a candle to what the liberals have accomplished.
the conservatives have never done wrong in the past?

I didn't mean the corruption/scandal by "the same shit"...I just meant the same typical political tactics (like calling for strategic voting).
you realize that you did it AGAIN in your first reply, right? (pointing to another issue instead of answering my actual point)...I see a pattern

My last words; (I think)
to a gathering in British Columbia when Martin turns to Harper and
says, chuckling,
"You know, I could throw a $1000 bill out the window right now
and make someone very happy."
Harper shrugs and replies, "Well, I could
throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people happy."
Not to be outdone, Layton says, "Well I could throw a hundred $10 bills
out the
window and make a hundred people happy."
The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot,
"Such arrogant asses back there.
Hell, I could throw all three of them out the window and make
32 million people happy."
Happy Voting!!!!!!

Thats why we have elections every 4 years. If we dont kick out parties when they do us wrong we might has well just settle for a dictatorship. |
